My wife and I are new to our neighborhood and needed to upgrade our electrical service on an 1950…read morehouse. Soon enough, we realized that the previous owners let two trees grow well into the overhead wires of the electrical service, so we needed an arborist. One our new neighbors recommended Grinders Tree Service, which he had nothing but good things to say about. Norman, the owner, listened to my situation on the phone, and clearly explained Grinders services. He made extra time to come at the very end of that day and assess and give options! A clear and reasonable quote and estimate followed. Grinders arranged the off property work with EPCOR, kept us in the loop with great communication, and arranged services on a timely basis, even though they are very busy and their services are in high demand. They did an amazing job with a difficult tree removal, and an equally great job cutting back and pruning a lovely apple tree, thus saving it for our backyard. The apple tree work was described as difficult, but now looks better than before and we will now be able care for it so it bears more fruit. The clean up, and stump grinding were efficient and thorough. Everything about the job was done well. We got the work done well in advance of the electricians coming. AND ... the invoice was almost 20% less than the estimate!! How often does that happen with a contractor? My highest recommendation and rating.

Scott and Devin did an amazing job on our front porch and yard. We had to have the steps and…read morerailing rebuilt, which was done beyond our expectations. We also had to have old shrubbery removed and another tree and shrub trimmed. The difference it made was just phenomenal and they completed it at a very reasonable cost considering the amount of time they spent on the job. I'd recommend them for any of your outdoor projects. They combined their hard work and skill to do a job we weren't comfortable tackling ourselves.

Sept 13 2015 DO NOT HIRE THESE GUYS. They seem like they…read moreknow what they are doing but they are faking it! I paid Ground Up Bobcat & Landscaping to do my back yard in April 2015. They charged me over $6500 to install sod and trees in my backyard in Vanier Woods East. They did not dig the holes large enough for the trees (everyone knows the hole should be larger and deeper than the root ball to give the roots a chance to spread out) They hand dug the holes and basically had to shove the root balls in and stamp them down to make them fit. At least 5 of the 9 trees I had them plant are dead. Maybe it's how they planted them, maybe they weren't good trees... I've tried to contact Aaron Hicks twice and he will not get back to me. The Greenhouse told me there is no guarantee on trees that are purchased wholesale so I can't get them replaced or get credit. The value of the trees that are dead/dying is $1475 before tax. That doesn't include the labor they charged. Aaron Hicks and his company took my money and are now ignoring me. Don't make the same mistake.
