THIS POST CONTAINS MY PERSONAL OPINIONS ONLY -- TB…read more I'm a 60 yr old man & have had chronic pain for 12+ yrs. Dr Carr's actions towards me were repeatedly vengeful, aggressive, disrespectful, and abusive. He is vulgar and unprofessional, for example he told my wife a d*ck joke the first time he met her. I later learned that Dr Carr's skill-set appeared to basically be an AA counselor, mostly dealing with 'mandatory' and court ordered clients that he can threaten, bully, intimidate and disrespect with no repercussions. He makes his living off the 12-Step Plan and encouraging people to "get to a meeting". Although I admire his efforts in that treatment, he should have realized his limitations from the start and known that my situation was not a candidate for this cookie-cutter solution Dr Carr is arrogant and conceited. He uses his profession to feed his superiority/God complex while abusing his patients. I have filed a complaint with MS Medical Review Board. Complaint Topics: * "Patient Abandonment" * Needless pain and suffering * Caused more harm than good * Disrespectful to patients * In his dismiss letter he stated he had to call the police on me. That is untrue, however the police "claim" has blackballed me from being accepted by any other doctors. * Failure to provide "Continuity of Care" * "Defamation of Character" in medical docs Carr is providing to my other physicians I spoke with Carr on the phone on 03/06/19, at which time he began ranting, swearing at me and Hung-Up on me. I attended my next appt but he again became aggressive, yelling and swearing at me, and verbally abused me with derogatory nicknames. Then, without any warning, he refused to refill my prescriptions, told me "I don't have time for this bullsh*t" and "I'm not going to do sh*t for you" and then threw me out of his office. Dr Carr did not give me any time to find a new doctor or any prescriptions to control my pain and detox to get me by until I found a new doctor.

Nothing. She wanted me gone and made that up. I got a notice labcorp has class action law suit. So I logged on to labcorp and the orders to test my urine said " problem requested " ? Then the lab said the sample hadn't been refrigerated and couldn't test. Then " written instructions ". Then the fentanly parent drug was 27 and metabolite was 0. The metabolite norfentanyl is what shows your taking the fentanly. My patient id had changed. I had legit spine problems and no where to go. I don't do illegal drugs. She could have been straight up. I thought they were nice too until they lied to ky face and wouldn't let me go to hospital for another drug test or do whatever they wanted. They sure charged my insurance alot. Im still pissed off and if I could sue them I would especially seeing the labcorp notes. Sketchy AF.

This center is truly amazing. But I'll tell you why I only give it two stars. The clinical director…read moreof the addiction facility thinks you should have NO reason to miss class. It's a 9 week program, 36 sessions. For three hours a night, 4 days a week. It's three months long. It's extensive. It's hard. It's best for people who don't have a job. I lost one job because of it. I got a second job and they asked me "can you please tell them you have another commitment? We will write a letter for you to be on time". That's very generous and all, but I'm not OK with losing another job. I can't start demanding things at the beginning of a new job. Absurd. You want growth and improvement but you don't allow it if it impacts you being a little late or not being able to come sometimes. At some point, they need to accept that people still have jobs, kids and routines to get back to. I can't afford to not work anymore. They simply don't understand that. The clinical director will make you feel so guilty for not coming and she will claim "I can't make you feel anything". She also told me on a previous phone call that is recorded "I can excuse your absences if you call ahead of time". Today- I called ahead of time. She still gave me an unexcused absence. I said "you can't just give me an unexcused absence because you felt like it." Her response "yes I can because that's the policy". So you're telling me someone getting a job and HAVING to work AND calling ahead of time constitutes an unexcused absence? Even though that is what SHE told me to do. My first unexcused absence was medical. Which I have a doctors note for. And it was unexcused because I didn't call. Absurd again. If you plan on not having a job for 3 months, this is perfect for you. If you have a job, a family, workout routine, eating routine- this is not for you. It is best to find someone less invasive. The clinical director, Jenna, is very pushy. I have completed 8 weeks of this program and this is how pushy she is. If you miss (excuses or unexcused), your days get pushed back. You don't make up excused school days??? It makes absolutely no sense. I take my recovery seriously and at this point, it is hindering me more so than doing me any good. Get your stuff together Bradford.

I've been a patient at the other clinic and CTC is better in every regard. I told that other clinic that I was trying to find a pain management clinic and it was fine with them at first then the nurse practitioner finally got wind of my reaching out which she should've known from day 1 ,but after 5 months of getting treatment by the pain clinic , I was given an ultimatum by the methadone nurse and 1 day is not enough time to make your mind up. It was helping a little bit but then the explosion happened and I get all my privileges revoked and they are discharging me and detoxing at 10 mg a day. My experience started with a Doctor that looked at me like I was crazy. I had 2 NP take me off…read morebenzo cold turkey and put me Xanax and Paxil. I was not sleeping and finally asked for help. My husband took me to Baptist and the nurses Maddie and Paige were good but the Doctor Rishan Desta had the worse bed side manners. I spoke with Pathway and told the lady that I had had a suicidal thought but I had no plan and that I was a rational person just sleep deprived. Talked to Pathway and counselor told me after about 45 minutes of talking that she wanted me to get in touch with Doctor in morning and start working on a sleep regiment. So you can imagine my shock when they come and tell me I am going to Lakeside by ambulance. I never argued with them. Wanted to know why my husband could not take me and they said Dr Desta worried I would jump out of the car. I am not that messed up and I told them it was all the medicines and I just needed help getting back on what worked for me. Know we are at Lakeside I get that at 2:30 went through 3 assessments and the last guy threatened me to sign an involuntary sheet. I argued bc I had come willing. He told me if I did not sign the form I would have all my rights removed and I would never buy a gun again. So after more discussion I signed the form. Also told them when I got there i needed my hear medicine over and over. They kept telling me I would get in on the unit. Skip forward to 3:00 am in the morning. I have now gone 24 hours with sleep. I get to the west wing and the Nurse there was not helpful and told me I had no medicine waiting on me and that I would have to wait till medicine time. Again no sleep bc at 5 I am listening to a lady yelling profanities and she ended up hitting a tech and it took several to take her down. This went on for about 30 minutes. Finally got my medicine and I finally got to call my husband who I had signed off for him to know everything that was going on with me. Imagine 2 days of no communication He was about to lose his mind. Skip forward a few hours and I finally see my Doctor who after talking to me said I did not belong on that wing and he was transferring me to the Landing. Can I just tell you when I got there my anxiety dropped tremendously. The Nurse Martina, Jennifer, tech Alex, Shawn and Joshua was the best. They would answer and questions and help in any way. But I ended up being there almost 7 full days and never laid eyes on my therapist till right before I was discharged. I asked for help but since being released and seeing a counselor and a Doctor I have been told my situation was handled so wrong on many levels. I feel for the others that are thrown to the wolves. If anxiety or panic is your trigger you should never be thrown in an area where the chaos is already so high. I want to find out to be an advocate for those that have no support when they get out and I think the system need some major updates. I understand staff is probably pretty shorthanded but compassion goes along ways in just starting the healing process.

I talked to Elizabeth Fikes during a stressful time where my 17-year old had just relapsed. She was kind, helpful. During the intake process I explained that my son was still weening off buprenorphine ("bup", an opioid withdrawal medication), and Bridget got back to me, stating Dr. Edney, an expert in this area, was fine with this and he would continue with the taper. Like others, it was the most difficult decision to send him to Stonewater and the hardest thing I've done. But I did it. The day after my son was admitted, Dana informed me that they would ween my son off 6 mg of bup in 10 days. I was surprised. Based on my conversations with my son's treating psychiatrist, this was an aggressive taper and would lead to intense physical pain and withdrawal symptoms. But I trusted Stonewater. Within the first 10 days that he was there, I was allowed to talk to him once for 5 minutes. I worried and sure enough, my mom instincts and concerns were not wrong. In short, after that 10-day period, my son was admitted to the ER at Baptist Memorial Hospital four times in a matter of eight days, and he ended up at Le Bonheur Children's Hospital in Memphis. He experienced withdrawals, anxiety, horrible insomnia and panic attacks, and at least 12 psychogenic seizures. Here is the short version: After the first ER visit, I received little info and during his second ER visit, I called the ER and the treating doctor explained my son was going through severe bup withdrawals. He also told me that Stonewater had recommended he go to OCEANS, a behavioral hospital in Tupelo. Totally surprised with this news, I told this doctor that I did not consent to sending him there and he returned to Stonewater. The next day, Bryan Fikes and Dr. Edney called me and told me that they are experts in bup tapers and they have handled this dozens of times and I should trust them. I asked if they would consult with my son's treating psychiatrist, which they declined. A few days later I received a call from a sheriff to ensure I was aware my son was headed to the ER again. This time it was for seizures. Dana recommended Keppra. The following morning I received a call from Dana at 5:00 am to get to Memphis as soon as possible because my son had been admitted to the ER again (fourth time) and the treating physician recommended an EEG scan at the Memphis hospital. On the same day, en route to Memphis, I received a letter from Stonewater wherein they recommended he not return unless he could get a doctor's note stating he could safely return. I got to the hospital that day and saw my son go through several seizures, which was excruciating. He has never had a seizure before Stonewater. The EEG scan revealed his seizures were psychogenic cased by severe stress to the body (side note: Keppra would do nothing). My son told the doctors that he had not slept for four days and he was punished (points "traded" and he was put on "slow down") because of his lack of participation, when he was just physically a mess. The punishments included not being able to speak to anyone for three days. The treating psychiatrist and pediatrician tried to talk to Dr. Edney; he was "unavailable." My son never once met or spoke with Dr. Edney. Ultimately, the psychiatrist and pediatrician at the hospital recommended that my son not return to Stonewater. Flying home with my son after three weeks felt like whiplash, and what hurts the most is that since he has been home for five weeks, not a single person has followed up to see how he is doing. Also, FYI - Stonewater gets payment upfront. I prepaid 30 days and my son was there for 20 days. While PJ sent an email explaining that we would receive a refund, that has not happened and my follow-up emails have been ignored. There are some great people at Stonewater: Rebecca, Farmer, Houston, Courtney, Abigail, Jacob, Jacoby. THANK YOU! Stonewater's medical team is entirely lacking.
