My husband and I have used Warsaw vet clinic for years for our cats and our dogs. Dr. Don and Dr…read more Candy have always been helpful and caring for everyone of our pets and I would never hesitate to recommend them to anyone.I learned recently that Dr. Don retired and Dr. Candy is working limited hours. The clinic now has Young vets servicing peoples animals however with any new management take over a lot of courtesies have changed. In the past anytime a pet was in a crisis situation medically, you could call the clinic at anytime, any hour, and they would meet you and take care of your animals. It wasn't until I tried to call the office after hours that I found The clinic did not have the phone system set up to receive emergency phone calls after hours or on weekends. I found the New doctors to be caring and understanding but they lack experience, which comes with time. I hope the new vets use the same business model Dr. Don and Dr. Candy Established showing compassion for both pets and owners. My cat was seen by the new doctor he was having difficulty breathing, he had a tumor in his nasal passage. The new doctors recommended I go to the Missouri veterinary hospital in Columbia however they wanted up to $5000 to operate on my cat which is more than I could afford now that I'm retired. I reached out to Dr. Jeff from Animal Planet, Rocky Mountain vet and he suggested Dr. Harper in Arkansas, located just south of Joplin. I made the 3+ hour drive to his clinic (near Mercy Hospital) and he evaluated my cat situation, we opted to go with a non-invasive method but in the end my cat succumb to the cancer tumor. We focused more on quality of life rather than quantity. I am forever in debt to Dr. Jeff and Dr. Harper for what they did in trying to save my cat's life. I followed up with Warsaw vets and gave them the update on my cat. I learned that most area vets do NOT have narrow nasal probes to diagnosis tumors in cat's noses. This was disheartening as I felt so many felines could be saved if vets had them. I offered to either buy one (if affordable) or work to raise money to buy one for them. I felt it didn't need to be super fancy, just practical to help in the exam. Tumors are soft tissue and don't show well on X-rays. I am waiting to hear back from them. I wish the new vets a successful business and pray they don't raise the prices too high which prevent customers from helping their most loved pets. The vets in Sedalia are very very expensive and I know many people who were turned away. We need more Dr Jeff and Dr Harper's in the world. What you see on TV is exactly what you get from Dr Jeff; he even texted me as a follow up to see how my cat was doing..
