Meh. They had a sign on the way in that said "Like us on Facebook" and get a free program, hot dog, and soda". I didn't want the hot dog or the soda, but I liked them for the program. When I went to redeem the offer, I was informed that I had to print it off. WHAT? It's 2012. Look at my phone and see that I liked you. I'd give this place a one star if only for that, but my family came her for my nephew (7) and niece (2) so they could see the horses race. We've been here twice. (10/14 and 11/14). Nice quaint track and casino. Never stayed at the hotel. The Golf Cup Buffet is slightly high priced but it is all you can eat. The food is slightly better than you would get at a cafeteria. Both times, however, there were two or three things that were above average (the trick is to find those items). Soda, coffee and dessert is included in the price. It's a nice family night out. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Call in advance to reserve your seats and you can stay there the whole night. We were there for a wedding, requested a an accessible room with a roll in shower. Were told we could not be guaranteed that room until the day of check in. The staff on the phone when I was making the reservation was awful. Could not explain, with a good reason, why I was not able to reserve the roll in shower. Again the staff the day of the wedding was horrible! We requested and early check-in (only an hour early) to get ready for the wedding that was at 3:30 PM. We were not allowed to check-in, so we had to get ready in a friends room who had checked in the night before! read more

The staff is nice but the hotel is VERY OLD. and musty. The kind where you see the old chewing gum a on the floor. This place is in serious need of a renovation. The waitress at Mr G's was nice as well as the hotel staff. if you are a person who is used to nice hotels you well hate it here. The bathroom tile looks like prison tile and the decor looks like a psych ward. It is clean so if you need a place to stay for the night, you'll be fine. But it's not a very cozy place. Again, the folks were nice and helpful but its time to get this place a face-lift, I would recommend finding a Marriott. everything closes early here, the dining the casino. Yelp!! read more

Went to the bar. Lady hands us someone else's recipct, we pay it not paying attention, then she calls us too drunk to be served, then hands us what she thinks is the correct receipt, but has another servers name on it, then says we are in the wrong. Security then shows up saying we need to leave a signed copy. So then the bar tender finally admits her mistake. Security apologizes and I'm left with a bill for some stale 1800 tequila. Do not go here for all you can eat crab legs they are terrible I cannot stress enough !! They didn't have enough to keep the line going People were waiting 20 just to get the first bunch , but people going back for more were having to go way out to the casino floor to get in line or cut in line which people were getting mad about . That's 1 they were coming out FROZEN ! SOGGY ! WHITE COLOR BROWN LOOK LIKE TWIGS AND THE MEAT WAS MUSHY as for the rest is the buffet the beef was raw bloody I like it rare but this was RAW! I just love this casino I do eat at the buffet which is very good, I have stayed at the hotel and the rooms are very nice and also clean. The staff is very nice on the casino floor very friendly especially Mark i feel he is doing a great job, i do like him much better than Christine she only associates with whom she wants to, i know a lot of people who like her and a lot who dont , but all in all I love it there I like it much better than Turning Stone because its small and comfortable to me. read more

After losing $100 an hour at Turning Stone NYE we headed to Vernon Downs on the 1st. We played for 4 hours and walked out $10 up. It was great! I don't expect to win big but at least let me have a good time! We ate at the cafe and the food was great. $17 for a sub, water, turkey Ruben, and both came with fries. No smoking inside with was great relief from the place the night before. Everyone was pleasant! My husband and I both hit multiple bonuses! If we are ever in the area again we will pass Turning Stone and go to Vernon Downs. This place saved my birthday trip by making up for the horrible night NYE. read more

My cousin booked her room months ago for her bridal party and out of town guests, as well as a suite for her and her husband to be. When the bride and bridal party arrived they did not have a room ready for the bride! Everyone kept telling us that if you do not actually get married at the hotel that they do not care about accommodating your needs. I never would have believed this if I did not see it for myself. We literally were down in the lobby for 30 minutes and then had to wait in one of the bridesmaids rooms for another 30 minutes or so until they prepped a room which we were told was out of order, although we are not sure why. And in the room where we waited the blow dryer did not work so we had call maintenance for that. Even though my cousin was not getting married at the hotel she was still bringing them in lots of business and yet they could have cared less making sure that she was happy with her stay. I asked if there was anything that they could do to make up for this mistake (I have worked in customer service for years and we ALWAYS are making sure our guests are happy) and the guy looked at me and said, "What would you like us to do?" I said I don't know she is a bride....bottle of champagne to say sorry, ANYTHING!!!! of course nothing was done. My cousin was an amazing bride and stayed calm even though she was so frustrated inside. She is a sweetheart and we as her bridesmaids had no problem voicing our frustrations for her. The next day one of the bridesmaids asked if they could change the sheets in her room because they were going to be changing rooms because the mother of the bride and her husband had that room booked for the next night and they told her that, "They don't do that." I'm sorry you don't change sheets for your guests if they request it? WHAT?!?! They really do not care if you are a happy guest or not. read more

Stayed here for our anniversary on Saturday, and we were very happy. This is my husband and my go to place now for our adult time. Great band was playing in the bar connected to the casino, and it was just a lot of fun. We stayed in a double this time, (it was all that was available, they go fast!) and it was really nice. The last time we were in a Jacuzzi suite and that was awesome. Looking forward to our next trip! read more

Pretty terrible all around: rooms are old and not clean, we found old candy wrappers on the floor and unfamiliar hair in the bath tub. The staff is utterly inept: check in took forever-due to one person helping a line of 20 people, while another 2 employees at the desk, one of whom appeared to be a manager, were trying to hook their laptop up to the Internet "So you can see that video I told you about". This was hours after check-in started, and we were told they had no clean rooms and had to wait. My friends had brought their infant daughter, and the bouncer wouldn't let them walk through the casino "with a minor" to get to the buffet. All infants LOVE slot machines, apparently. The buffet is completely unappetizing-frozen everything, moldy vegetables, etc. my party of 7 paid over $200 and left hungry. Do yourself a favor and go elsewhere. There just happens to be a much better casino ~20 minutes away from this one, with friendly staff and rooms that have actually been renovated within the last 20 years. read more

I use to frequent this place like every other month. I enjoy eating, gambling a bit and hotel stays, but now my tune has changed. I went early in May to get some stress relief due to college classes, projects and finals. I did not get the usual promotion coupons that I would receive and made the mistake of questioning it at the promotion desk. The guy there was very abrupt, rude and even flicked me off. I asked to see a manager to file a complaint and was kept waiting ten minutes. She came out and wrote my info down and listened to my complaint. She said she felt bad and would look into it and contact me. Mind you three weeks later, I have not been contacted or even apologized to. The hotel staff also was less friendly than usual, I should not had been treated like I was. Since they expanded, the changes have not been for the better. Now, I will drive the extra four miles and visit the bigger casino instead. A manager's job is to make sure staff is held accountable and make a customer happy.
