This is my experience as a shopper. I was getting multiple emails a day requesting my phone #, so I thought what the hey, maybe they really need to move some inventory and I've got some free time today, so I'll give them a shot.
I got connected with a salesman that is hard to describe. If I had to guess, I would say he was in his early twenties, just because of his lack of respect and arrogance.Hopefully this young man can get a mentor who will teach him respect and how to treat potential customers.
Ma'am, I sit around multiple people, whom heard our conversation, including my manager. Not once, did I ever insult you, or saying anything rude or discerning. All I did was, instead of just saying "Ok", and moving on, after you said no to our price, try to voice concern for another person. I only spoke, when I thought you were done talking, and I apologized to you, on the phone, for making you feel uncomfortable. However, I really don't know, how you could have felt uncomfortable, by me pointing out things to watch out for, when shopping, but somehow it happened. So, again, I'm sorry that you were insulted by me trying to look out for you, but I meant no harm. During the time all of this has transpired, though, the '11 Armada has been sold to another customer. We are taking you off of our list, and you will no longer be contacted. Thank you for your inquiry, and again, I'm sorry for the confusion here. God Bless.

Mr. Fxxxx,
You did offend me.
You told me I did not know what I was sacrificing. I am a competent person. I can do research and I have lots of life experience. I am 43 years old, have been married to my husband for 25 years and have raised 3 children and have purchased my fair share of used automobiles. I am known for being kind and soft spoken and my husband is happy for me to do the negotiating because I very calmly explain what we're looking for and we make a deal or move on and nobody has hard feelings. And maybe I am willing to give up age of the vehicle, options, 4WD, etc. I made it completely clear that I did not think you were asking an unfair price and that this was probably not the vehicle for me. You did not take the time to ask me if you could help me find something that would meet my needs.
You did not accept my financial boundaries (Does that mean you wouldn't offer me the vehicle I wanted at my price? No, that means you told me I wouldn't find a good, reliable vehicle for my price.)
Not to be unkind, but if you are truly being honest about only speaking when you thought I was done talking, there is some sort of issue that needs to be addressed. I do not remember a time when someone has talked over me more and I am known for few words and lots of listening.
Respectfully, I did not ask for a lesson on how to buy a used car. I appreciate your concern, but it was overboard and aggressive.
When I explained to you exactly what we are looking for, you could have said you understood and if you get anything in fitting in those parameters, you would call me, or I'm sorry, Mrs. Mxxxxx, we don't generally carry anything like that here. God gives us two ears and one mouth which means we should be listening twice as much as we are speaking. That might even be doubled when pertaining to a customer relationship. I would encourage you to be quick to listen and slow to respond and hopefully you will excel in your sales career. Congratulations on the sale of the Armada. That is awesome. I hope the purchaser gets many years of enjoyment. Maybe when all my children are out of college, I can expand my budget and won't have to sacrifice all upgrades.
May you experience great success in your endeavors as you learn to walk in humility and show great respect to those that allow you the privilege of their business,

You're right, I did not ask that question, because we never got that far. We got hung up, on the fact I was trying to help you understand what you would be getting, for the price you wanted to be at, as you are not a professional in the car industry, like I am. I understand that you've bought a few cars, over the years. But, I've sold 500 vehicles, in the past 2 years. I'm not sure what is offensive about trying to help someone, but I'm sorry that I bothered, now. Again, thank you for your interest, and take care!
