We receive cable for free through our apartment complex, but we're on the verge of paying for Dish…read morein order to avoid MetroCast's horrible service. As I write this, they were 2.5 hours late for a service call today to fix the DVR that they did not install properly the first time. (The technician, when he arrived, said that the dispatch office was supposed to give me a call that he would be late - why I am I not surprised this didn't happen?) I guess I should count my blessings, because when we moved in to our apartment, we had to wait for two weeks to simply get our internet connected. I wish they would improve even small things to improve their service: for example, I waited on hold for eight minutes before I was offered the option of a representative calling me back when one became available. Why force people to wait on hold for eight full minutes?

Absolutely horrible. In the 2 years that we have been with them we have had to have technicians…read moresent out over 10 times, had the DVR box replaced 5 times, had a horrible cable connection - and when you call, no matter the problem, there only solution is to reset the box. If they say they will call you back - don't count on it. They overcharge for their crappy services and it is not worth the hassle. As another reviewer said the technicians are never on time for their calls and when they do call to tell you when they are coming they wait until they are basically pulling into the driveway, great warning huh? The Starkville office is full of snooty women who will get an attitude with you about anything you find wrong. The customer is never right in their eyes. Not to mention with as busy as the office gets they act like it's an inconvenience to have to do the work at a reasonable pace. If yelp let me give them a negative rating I would in a heartbeat. Everyone I know who has Metrocast hates it. It is absolutely the worst cable/internet/phone service to ever deal with. Customer service AND quality of services are both 0/10.

So a little back story on myself and the wife, i myself served in the Marines for 8 years and the…read morewife just recently joined the Airforce and was stationed in columbus ms. We moved there hastly because like always its tough wity military deadlines and i was enrolled at missippi state university so we had to get there quick and i nees internet fast for school work. Needless to say att reassured us that there internet was fast and velocity would be perfect for us in our area even to go as far as to say that we could play games such as call of duty online with out error. So needless to say we were good with the service since we only really watch netflix and surf the web. Well come to find out about a couple days into the service they had lied netflix struggled, and the internet would barely even bring up pdf files on my computer. We assummed maybe it just needed to some time so we gave it a little bit of time but it didn't help. 3 weeks in and our device broke and the screen went white internet still slightly worked but it was broke. Went to two different stores for them to tell me they couldnt anything we would have to call and send it back. At this point we gave up i went out and got cable one and thank god because the service was amazingly better. So once i had my other service set up i called to cancelled my att so here is the scam they lock you in with a 150 dollar cancellation fee but alright i was like no biggy its better then paying a 100 dollars a month for crap. Well that was the end of it they were suppose to send us money back on a visa card for activating our service it was supposed to be a hundred dollars never seen it. So long story short two months of horrible service broken equipment and no one wanting to do anything about it we were charged almost 400 dollars tottal. So my reach is to help all my military brothers out there in hopes to save there pockets dont do it please take your money any where else.
