Their mission and vision statements are below: Mission statement: The Mission of the Haymarket Regional Food Pantry is to eliminate hunger in our community and surrounding areas by acquiring and distributing food to those who seek aid. We will accomplish this mission by educating, empowering and enlightening the community about the issues of hunger and nutrition Vision: We envision a community in which everyone has access to sufficient, nutritious food. I became aware of this organization recently. So when I am out grocery shopping at Giant Food, I watch for good deals on things like canned goods - where I can buy a couple of cases of canned non-perishable items - such as vegetables, soups, fruits, pasta dishes, etc., to take over and donate to the Haymarket Regional Food Pantry. I think it's important as a community to help out those in our community that are struggling and less fortunate. This is one small way I can help out. ECHO can't accept everything but they can recommend other organizations that accept furniture, perishable food or other items for donations. Lois Lyons, a tornado of passion and compassion, founded this organization in memory of Rachel Crossett. Rachel, after a three-year battle with neuroblastoma, has left a leagacy of hope, support and continued education for individuals and families touched by the challenges this disease presents. I had the honor to attend my second T2R annual fund raising event at the Ritz Carlton in Tyson's Corner last week. This organization is so child and family focused and the continuous work the founder and her army of an all volunteer team does brings smiles, relief and as we all experienced last Thursday night tears of joy that we might all contribute to a greater good. My riding has improved tremendously in that time. I've since then become the week day instructor and it is an amazing opportunity. The people here are amazing and so are the horses. I really appreciate and love how well the horses are taken care of and the effort put in to keeping this place a fun relaxing place. 10/10 would recommend to any beginner, intermediate, or advanced rider.

Our eight year old had an amazing experience taking a riding lesson from Jade at White Oak Stables…read more She was absolutely thrilled that she learned about caring for horses, that she was able to put the tack on herself (with Jade's assistance), and with how much fun she had riding. She learned more in this one hour lesson than she has learned with several rides at other stables. She enthusiastically declared that this was the most fun she has even had around horses and that the next time she gets to ride she "definitely" wants it to be here. Jade, thank you for making her day and I hope we will see you again soon!
