I ordered floral arrangements for my Sons Memorial Service in Mystic. It was on Sunday, August 29th. I picked up 1 large basket and 2 small ones from this florist on Saturday, August 28th. They were all spritzed and kept in an air conditioned environment. I brought one of the smaller baskets home on Monday.....it was dying and by Tuesday, totally dead. (See pictures). This lady (owner) used flowers that were old and she wanted to clean out her cooler. The iris that were supposed to be light blue were dark, some of the light blue delphinium used in the big arrangement had no flowers on the top, and the little white filler daisies (Monte casino) were pretty blown. I should have argued with her right then and there; but it was too late for her to do anything and I needed the flowers for the next day. This order had been placed with Norma at least 3 weeks in advance; so she had more than enough time to order EXACTLY what I was looking for. I used to be a florist so I am fully aware what old flowers look like. She tried to tell me that these flowers were all fresh, but they WERE'NT. She also told me that flowers in foam should all be recut and placed back in the foam (SERIOUSLY?). Have you ever done that? How would you know where to put them to make the original arrangement? For a Vase arrangement, after a few days you are supposed to take the bunch of flowers out, recut and change the water....but NEVER for an arrangement done in wet foam. This woman gave me a $50 & tax credit on a $265 order! I trusted her, but NEVER AGAIN. BUYER BEWARE!!! read more
