We booked a two-night stay at Cape Cod Veranda and were so impressed! The rooms are clean, spacious, and exactly like the photos online. Our king room had a comfy bed, couch, fridge, and even cable TV, which we appreciated. The property itself is beautiful and has so many thoughtful touches -- a pool, picnic area with grill and smoker, fire pits with blankets, and a gorgeous veranda where we enjoyed both breakfast and lunch. Speaking of breakfast, it was way more than "continental" with eggs, pancakes, fruit, charcuterie, espresso, and so much more. What really stood out was the hospitality -- the owners introduced themselves, checked in with every guest, and even called us when we left a sweatshirt behind. The dog park was a huge bonus for our 13-year-old pup, and the non-carpeted rooms kept everything feeling clean and fresh despite being pet-friendly. The location is also perfect: quiet and peaceful in Yarmouth, but just 15 minutes from Hyannis and Dennis. I noticed some of the older reviews here and can honestly say this is a completely different experience now -- it feels like there may even be new ownership because everything about our stay was wonderful. Unexpectedly, right before vacation, we got a puppy. She's too young to board, and too high energy for someone to stay with her. So, she needed to come with us on vacation. Which meant we needed a dog friendly hotel. I've stayed at "dog friendly" hotels before, and ... well, they never quite get the smells out, it's always a little... you know. Not this place -- this has to be one of the most immaculately clean hotels I've ever stayed in. Just incredibly well kept, well maintained, and /clean./ They have a dog play area, and despite having several dogs staying there in addition to ours... it was also clean. The rooms were odor free, polished, and nice. The hotel has a beautiful pool area, though its undergoing renovation, and it looks like they're building a new area of some sort, too. They also serve a decent continental breakfast -- bagels, toast, muffins, cereal, and stuff like that (no eggs / bacon / sausage, but who needs that?). Its included in the stay, and we took good advantage of it. The hotel is also seriously quiet -- I know there were dogs barking, and the place was full, but I never heard anyone while we were in the room. Not the room next door, no traffic, nothing. Love that. My only serious complaint with the hotel was the bed, which is unfortunately a pretty important part of a hotel room. The mattress was hard as a rock. I woke up sore in the middle of the night and had to turn over, several times. The pillows are really flat. If you like a very hard bed, you'll be fine, but I missed my memory foam. A few other small things to be aware of: -- There's a nice table set outside, which is shared between you and the room next door. Note that some people use it to smoke.... -- The WiFi is not particularly strong, and I had a lot of trouble getting a regular cell signal in the room. Outside, okay, but inside, not so much. -- The TV has cable only; you can't sign into your netflix or anything on it (guess you'll have to actually enjoy vacation!) -- The biggest issue, though, is its equidistance between two really good ice cream spots, which are walking distance, and you'll likely add some weight. ;) -- Other than the ice cream spots, there aren't any good restaurants in walking distance, or much else, you'll need to drive. read more

Very pleasant surprise!! Our family stayed in 3 separate rooms, which were clean and recently updated. The beds were comfortable and the refrigerator in the room was a nice bonus. The complimentary continental breakfast served on the weekend had a wonderful variety of items. Since there were only a few guests at the time, during the week Jadwiga (Jay) took our breakfast order the night before and delivered it right to our door each morning. Talk about service! There's a dog park and also a charming building on the property with a lovely fireplace where guests can hang out and play games, etc. It's also where the continental breakfast is served in the morning. What made our stay so pleasant was Jay's thoughtfulness and generosity. Like the morning it started pouring during breakfast and she brought back umbrellas for each family to use. It's obvious how much she and her husband care about their guests! Her warm, friendly manner made us feel like part of the family. read more

Beautifully renovated family-run motel. The hosts treat you like family and have thought of so many details that set it apart from your typical motel experience. The rooms are very comfortable, with comfy beds, high quality linens, and a small fridge. Our king room also had a nice sitting area. The motel offers a complimentary breakfast that they refer to as a continental breakfast, but is so much better than your typical continental breakfast with meats, cheeses, fresh fruited and veggies, hard boiled egg, as well as the typical bagels, cereal, juice, etc. The coffee was excellent and will save you waiting in line at a coffee shop. it's a great location walking distance to ice cream and a short ride to multiple beaches, mini golf and restaurants. After a day at the beach, we enjoyed swimming and relaxing by the pristine pool, with towels provided. They also had a covered outdoor common area with tables, couches, and lots of games for the family. It is dog friendly and there is a little dog park to walk your furry friend. We were there for the 4th of July and the hosts even dropped off a bottle of wine to us. I give this motel my highest rating. We will be back! read more

We had a wonderful stay here and wouldn't hesitate to book again. This is our first trip to the Cape Cod area. We didn't want to stay in a typical hotel. This resort has large cottage type rooms and you can park right in front of your room. The landscaping here is beautiful. It's family owned and the inn keeper is so friendly and helpful. Everything went smooth at check in. We were amazed at how large the room was. There was a nice sized dining table with chairs as well as a small refrigerator and a closet. Everything was spotless. We didn't take advantage of the continental breakfast but it was offered. We did eat breakfast down the street at Island Cafe & Grill, yummy. Lots of other restaurants and ice cream shops nearby. You can't beat the location. We got the best deal on Priceline. read more

In Cape Cod, there are no five star luxury resorts where thousands of tourists stay. It is a low key area where houses are small cottages, people are generally laid back, and there are dozens calm beaches with fewer than a hundred people. Veranda Cape Cod Family resort is the perfect place for a retreat and weekend getaway. It is a one level property with one parking spot per room and additional parking spots at the check in cabin. The breakfast area is beautiful and clean with coffee, tea, bagels, yogurt, fruits, and pastries from 8 to 11 am. There is even a dog park near the pool (dog friendly hotel). The staff were attentive and showed us the best attractions. Check in and check out was seamless. read more

We decided to book a short stay for Fourth of July weekend here at the Veranda. The woman at the front desk was so friendly upon check in and gave us recommendations for where to eat around town. The grounds were beautiful and the room was small but nice with a large TV and a large AC unit. In terms of cleanliness the room was average, the shower was a little dirty and there were some dead bugs in the corners of the room. One of the reasons we booked this stay was because of the access to the pool but the pool was not working throughout our entire time here. Also when we asked the staff for extra blankets they gave us a confused look and said no. They did have a very nice continental breakfast available for guests. read more

Had a wonderful stay at the lovely Veranda. Room was spotlessly clean, breakfast was great, the manager was kind & friendly.

If there was a zero they'd get it. Do not recommend this place. if you get stuck in the middle of the night if something bad happens like a lost key or a problem with the room you won't be able to get any help from the owner. I forgot my key and i called the owner and they said " we're sleeping don't bother us" and hung up on me. If you're going to own a hotel and a customer needs you, be available 24/7. Better to stay somewhere else that you can rely on being safe rather than sorry. Shame on the owners. read more

I was blown away by the immaculate attention to detail put into the recent renovations at this resort. Even with the pool being under construction, a crew spreading mulch and tending to the grounds, and a giant outdoor building in progress - I could see how much the owner's cared about the property and how important it was to them that we enjoyed our stay. They were so kind and welcoming. The rooms are absolutely pristine clean, everything is freshly painted and very well maintained. There is an outdoor fire pit area fully stocked with wood you are welcome to and even a fenced in dog play area equipped with toys, obstacles and doodie bags. Each room one parking space and has an outdoor picnic table for sitting and relaxing into the evening as the lovely solar lights begin to flicker. Pets were gladly welcome and this is always a plus for us as we usually travel with our dog. The continental breakfast was GORGEOUS and offered everything from coffee & juice to fruits, bagels, pastries, donuts, muffins, a cereal spread etc. I have extreme attention to detail and I'm telling you I was audibly gasping at how nice everything at this place was. Don't skip it. We will be returning in the future & looking forward to swimming in the newly renovated pool area. read more

i was very excited for my stay but due to circumstances I could not make the trip. i called just to let them know I would not be arriving because this seemed like a small place and the owners might worry that I hadn't arrived. i left a voicemail letting them know I would not be arriving. a woman with an accent called me back. all good. i let her know that I just wanted them to know I would not be coming in. she told me that due to the last minute change I would be charged fully. i responded acknowledging that's fine and what I expected, I was trying to be nice and let them know in advance. The woman was somehow offended by me saying i was trying to be nice and she responded that she was being nice. ummm ok. so I just tepeated that I was only calling to be considerate to them, that's all. the lady then proceeded to offer partial refund. i didn't understand what she was offering so I asked questions to understand what she was saying. instead of answering my question, the woman responded with " because you are a diffuser woman, we will refund the whole amount". ????? What???? i didn't ask for, expect, want a refund! i didn't appreciate being called difficult for trying to be nice and considerate. i was shocked! i think they are used to people trying to refunds and were on alert. she wasn't listening or understanding my intentions and ended up calling me difficult. just a really stupid, unnecessary interaction. read more
