Three gringos walk into a bar. No, not a joke. The staff as helpful as they could be with non Portuguese speaking visitors. We used translation apps to figure out the menus. Great place located in Brooklin and themed after the Brazilian author Luis Fernando Verissimo (his book, Diálogos Impossíveis is one of my favorites). Fantastic place to meet with friends for drinks after work. One star off for the slow service - I had to flag the waiters down several times after waiting more than 20 minutes for them to give me a menu and take an order in a near-empty restaurant. That said, service surprisingly improved once the restaurant filled up so this won't deter me from returning. Veríssimo Bar is a place I've only visited once, and in retrospect it seems like I've been there one too many times... For my entrée, I ordered the salmon - it showed up raw. I tod the waiter I wanted to send it back and have it grilled to the point of edibility. The salmon was still raw when it came back... To add insult to injury, because the process of not recooking my entrée properly took quite a spell, my side orders got cold. Thus, I ended up dining on raw fish and cold vegetables... To close on a positive note, the chocolate soup my friend ordered for dessert was delicious! Perhaps I was just unlucky; but there are too many other decent places I'd prefer to try before coming back here.. read more

My first time in Brazil and the first restaurant we ate at. The menu was in Portugese and they didn't speak English but super friendly and food was amazing. I ordered the tacos with chicken aka frango, it came with guacamole and salsa and a white sauce (that I didn't care for) super delicious. For drinks I ordered the caiprioskas which is their national drink but with vodka, I ordered two and felt amazing after lol. read more

Exceptional!!! Very good food and service. There was a feijoada buffet with at least five kinds of feijoada, fried bananas, vegetables, etc. we went around 4 pm and there was live music also. Very nice venue, all the staff were professional and very attentive read more

Best feijoada I have had in Brazil. Eight or ten varieties of boiling feijoada pots and a variety of garnishes and accompanying sides. I ate entirely too much as it was so good. Worth the price paid. Great drinks, staff, and band on a Saturday afternoon. I will definitely return. read more
