Venus 2 Kebab House, Takeaway and Restaurant describes itself as an 'authentic Kurdish Restaurant', and of course, being owned by a Kurdish proprietor, (as so many of the restaurants and shops are in the City Road area), it would be churlish to disagree!
Serving predominantly kebab based meals, either on a bed of rice or with freshly made nan bread and salad (mainly green, consisting of iceberg lettuce, cucumber, peppers, tomato, onion and black olives), and not forgetting the soup. About half of the kebab options offer soup as part of the set meal, and of course, this increases the nutritional value of the dishes that it compliments. I would recommend these options for a number of reasons, not least because they offer a more well balanced meal, but also because they add variety and only cost about £1.50 more than the non-soup options. That's good value!
Prices tend to range between £4.00 and £8.00 for a main meal, and Kurdish Tea is only fifty pence! Great! read more
