Unbelievable work at this place. Ever since I started getting tattoos , I don't want to go anywhere else. I had my work done by Eris and not only is he a very nice welcoming individual but his skills are truly out of this world. I brought him a tattoo design and he improved it on his computer, asked for my opinion, gave me his opinion and then placed it exactly like we agreed onto my skin. It is a true work of art. My tattoo turns head everywhere I go and I couldn't be happier. read more

I can't say enough about Venture Tattoo. Anthony did a custom half-sleeve for me. It was my first tattoo, but won't be my last. Anthony is an artist, plain and simple. He's an unbelievable talent who is also soft spoken and humble about his work. I know all the artists there are excellent, but if you're looking for something big, he's awesome. He worked for 6 hours on my arm. Got it done in one session, and because he is so good, pain was minimal and after care was painless (which surprised me). I waited 43 years to feel confident enough to get a tattoo. Anthony was the perfect artist for me and I can't wait to get back in there for the next one. I almost never write reviews like this but just want to make sure Anthony and Venture get their due respect from me after my experience there. Thanks. See you guys in October! read more

Came here again for a tattoo with Nelly - I found pics on Instagram and chose her out of the artists they have there. She was great! Tattoo came out beautifully. I believe the piercer Jeff moved to a different shop on Madison read more

This tattoo shop is one of the greatest in the Chicago area I'd say the world! Eris is the best! All of the other artist are great also but I've done all my work with Eris and the quality is amazing! People stopped me on the street to look at the work he's done and it speaks for itself. I'm looking forward to finishing my other sleeve with him. Definitely one of the best shops in Chicago all around great talent with everyone working here. Whoever you go to will take care of you. They truly take great pride in they're work, they're extremely clean and thorough with every session and you leave wanting more every time! The passion is visible in every one and the attention to detail is insane. Check them out for your next tattoo! read more

Im in love with my new Tattoo. I have been to other shops and left without a tattoo because they are rude and /or unclean This shop is VERY CLEAN, they welcome you when you come in ,unlike some chicago shops were they stare at you when you walk in. JR. Diaz did my tattoo and the detail is amazing. I get so many compliments! Thank you Venture tattoo for your clean shop and professionalism. read more

Teenage daughter had an excellent experience getting ears pierced by Jeff. He explained everything, was patient, professional and so calm. Exceptionally clean shop with sterile technique used. Even placement on her lobes. Her ear lobes healed beautifully. Highly highly recommend! Oh, and simple parking right in front with a handy ice cream shop around the corner to celebrate afterwards! read more

This is a great place to take kids for ear piercing. Took my six year old daughter today and it went very well. Made appointment with Jeffrey via email. There is a private piercing room. He was so professional and explained everything while taking great care in keeping everything sterilized. She didn't even utter a squeak while he pierced her ears, one at a time. After, she jumped up and down, she loved them so much. You pick out earrings when you get there from a nice selection. On your way in, you will walk by everyone getting tattoos, so either mention it to your child beforehand or be ready for questions. My daughter was fascinated. It is very clean and super easy to find / park. Really pleased with our experience. read more

This review is based only on Venture's piercer, Jeff Clark. He is BOMB DOT COM. I saw him last year for a piercing and I made my way back this year to do it again. Very rarely do you come across genuine people, but Jeff is just an awesome person. He's so fair and makes the piercing process quick and (almost) painless. I know Venture has had tons of endorsement from their tattoo artist Jr Diaz being on VH1's show Black Ink Crew, but I've never had the pleasure of being tattooed here. Maybe in the future! For anybody considering a tattoo, I can tell you some of the artists aren't even taking new clients and other artists are booked out 4-6 months in advance. I've looked at their work, and it's absolutely phenomenal. But based on my actual experience, Jeff is the way if you're looking for a piercing! read more

I just got a rook piercing from Jeff and he was amazing! He truly lives up to his reviews. I emailed him asking questions and he got back to me right away thoroughly answering all my questions. Jeff walked me through the entire piercing, after car and jewelry changes prior to piercing me. He made sure his marks looked good and then did a fantastic piercing. I'm obsessed with it, can't wait to go in and get the new jewelry. I felt very comfortable and confident with everything. I can't wait for it to be all healed up and get new custom jewelry! read more

I took my daughter, after much deliberation to get her naval pierced. I researched several places and Venture won. The studio is spotless, nicely designed and professional. Jeffrey did her piercing and we can't say enough nice things about him. He is reassuring, easy to talk too and most importantly, knowledgeable about his craft. He explained the procedure, the after care process and provides high quality jewelry. I really appreciated his candor, and professionalism. Thank you! read more

Jeff was professional and friendly. He put me at ease and explained everything he was doing. He autoclaved everything, wore gloves, etc. All the good, clean, courteous professional stuff you want see when someone is about to poke a hole in your body. He was very solicitous and made sure I was comfortable and that all my questions were answered and that I knew that aftercare had changed since my last piercings. (a very long time ago) Very thoughtful and much appreciated. My daith is healing beautifully and it didn't hurt going in. I'm even thinking of getting another piercing soon. Highly recommend Jeff & Venture. read more

Highly recommend...I took my 8 year old daughter there for ear piercing with Jeffrey. Everything went well as expected. Sterile technique, cleanliness of the shop, high grade earrings metal and price. Of course its not free of charge for piercings with earrings purchased like the mall. But you get to have experience personal to pierce your child ears, disposable needles, lesser chance for infection and evenly position pierced. After piercing done her ears look a bit red as the usual inflammatory responses. Just overnight the sites look fine, no redness, no allergy reaction to the earrings metal, she feels just fine. Definitely recommend to everyone instead of getting it done at the mall. read more

I researched artists like crazy before landing on Eris at Venture. I searched Yelp, Google, instagram, facebook ect. I wanted a black and grey artist with crazy good detail, deep blacks, dark/gothic designs, and a creative eye to design and create their own work of art. I am super picky and Eris nailed all of it. The other artists JR. and Joni have amazing portfolios as well, I would have been happy to work with either of them as well. Eris's designs are original and one of a kind, he incorporates what aspects of the tattoo you want, but also puts his own artistic twist on it. I am currently working on a whole arm sleeve and I wouldn't trust any one but Eris. My first session was approximately 8 hours, Eris worked quickly but with a ton of attention to detail. We had a few breaks to stretch, grab a drink, make a phone call, all in all the experience was very enjoyable. Believe it when people say, tattoo's are addictive. Now to the Venture Tattoo shop 1. Super Clean...I mean SUPER CLEAN, I have not been in a cleaner more well kept shop 2. Super Organized, no tools, papers, trash anywhere left out. 3. Very welcoming, from my initial consultation to the day of tattoo 4. Not a revolving door tattoo/piercing shop, pretty much appointment only, they truly care about the quality of their work...not just quantity of people they can move through in a day. 5. All the artists are really cool, easy to talk to, and a fun environment to be in. One word to the wise...they get a ton of emails for work...be patient, and they will get back to you. It is worth the wait...you want a tattoo that looks killer, gets tons of compliments, and can withstand the test of time. Do yourself a favor and contact Eris, JR or Joni. Thanks guys, looking forward to my next few sessions. read more

The artist that work here do amazing work. I'll simply state the facts of my experience with venture artist Anthony. Booked a November appointment in September. Paid the $200 deposit and sent in several reference photos. Got a follow up call to confirm the appointment. Everything seemed smooth. I'm told my appointment will be from 10am-4pm. The day before the appointment I'm asked to come in later (around noon) as he has something to do in the morning. I come on time basically to talk about the same thing we spoke about in September. After he works on the stencil, he tattooed me from 2-4pm. About 40% of the original concept we spoke about and stated we'll need another session. His website states a "big session" is $1000 and last 4-6 hours. His words not mine. My tattoo was 2 hours and he charged me $1000. Not complaining because the work was excellent. I had already booked a second session later on in the month expecting 2 sessions after the consultation. The day before the second session comes and I'm pumped to finally finish my piece, he calls and cancels. Tells me "something came up" and wanted to rebook. I state no problem, he books me for the next day. 2 hours before that appointment, he texts and cancels again, stating he'll call me tomorrow to rebook. I haven't received a call. I've emailed with no reply. No response on any messages through social media. Now I have a half finished tattoo. I'll be going else where to get my piece finished. read more

Mad props to the guys at Venture tattoo. Since the day I called to make my appointment the service has been superb. Every employee I had an encounter with was accommodating and well-mannered. I went in for a tattoo and a septum piercing. Based on my experience I can confidently say everyone here is expertly skilled and bringing in top quality work. The ambiance was welcoming, Jr. Diaz gave me the best tattoo I've ever had. When he first consulted with me he gave me authoritative knowledge regarding my idea that gave me a perfect sense of his capabilities. Professional opinion in a sincere manner is greatly appreciated! Respectable honesty, at its best. Jeff pierced my septum, this being my 3rd time piercing it, it was also the least painful of the 3 and beautifully executed. Definitely check this place out for your ink and piercing needs, straight up Bona fide dudes! read more

Venture Tattoo Studio - Tattoo by Jr. Diaz. Super clean, precise, smooth and solid. I love it. Great job. - Piercing Near Me - Oak Park, Illinois

I would give this place more stars if I could. everything about the experience was great. it's not a giant tattoo factory getting people in and out, nor is it a shop with one star artist and the rest subpar. it's s shop with 3 excellent artists. Jr. did my tattoo. he had a great vision for my tattoo. he has a light hand , which minimized the pain. yet the blacks in my tattoo are as dark as can be. he listened to my thoughts and told me what would work and if it didn't , he explained why. He is a true artist and he cares about his work . if you are looking for black and grey realism , I really don't know why anyone would go anywhere else. read more

This place not only does incredible art work, but they actually care about the people they put it on. i really enjoyed myself, finding myself laughing at their banter. i am extremely impressed with the end product and will be back, again and again. All you have to do is look at their artwork books to see that their attention to detail. So amazing. Oh and not to mention their internet was down so they had to free hand the tattoo. read more

Class acts all around. Unbelievable service. Eris is a masterful talent. They will work with you to create your dream tattoo. Entrust your faith in their design and reccomendations...it will be more than worth it. I have sat with him on two sessions and would rate them 10 stars if they were available. He is unbelievably quick, sensitive to the process, and never sacrifices quality or attention to detail. Thank you to all at Venture for providing such a memorable experience. read more

After researching many places online and having a friend recommend Venture Tattoo Studio to me I ended up getting my piercings done by Jeff Clark. He is now the only piercer I go to. He makes every experience comfortable, thorough, and his art speaks for it's self. I am beyond ecstatic with my piercings and Jeff really goes above and beyond for his customers. If you are unsure about getting a piercing done safely or simply just don't know a place to go to get a good piercing locally, I highly recommend Venture. My husband and I found Anthony J. and Venture Tattoo when searching for fantastic realistic black & gray tattoo artists in the Chicago area who would be able to do tattoos in memory of our daughter. When we found Venture Tattoo, we fell in love with everyone's work and knew that they were the ones who would be able to do a fantastic job. We emailed Anthony some ideas for tattoos, and about 10 days later, we were excited to hear that he would be interested in meeting up with us to go over designs and set up an appointment. A few things about the shop in general: The shop is so clean and organized (seriously - it's cleaner than most doctors' offices I've been in). The artists are all fun yet very professional, polite and are perfectionists when it comes to doing their artwork. The artists are booked out weeks and in some cases months out, but it's because they're all FANTASTIC and are in high demand. You definitely get what you pay for with them. Anthony kindly booked both our tattoos for the same day for a few weeks later. The day of the appointment, he sat with me and went over the design making it personalized for my daughter while also incorporating his own style. He made sure his entire station was clean and sanitized from start to finish. After my tattoo, he did the same process with my husband. Our tattoos look amazing. We've had no problems with them healing. Everywhere we go, strangers stop us to tell us how incredible our tattoos are and ask who did them and where we got them done. We are so happy we found Anthony and Venture Tattoo and are so grateful that Anthony perfected our tattoos. They are by far the best black & gray realism artists in the Chicagoland area. read more

After much research I decided on Venture Tattoo and Jeff Clark to pierce my tragus. I was a little nervous because all the YouTube videos I saw showed people crying in pain! I felt very comfortable with Jeff. He explained the entire procedure to me. Told me those videos posted are always the ones showing pain. And told Me it would not be that bad. It wasn't !! Just a little Pinch & it was done! He explained aftercare and gave me it to me in writing as well. Told me exactly when I could change the jewelry & that it may be challenging the first few tries. I appreciated this advise. This place was very clean! I would definitely recommend Jeff! read more

I've read all the reviews and was beyond excited when I stopped in the other day. There was one person getting a tattoo and the other artists were sitting there eating and chatting. I walked in, all eyes went to me, one very blatantly rolled their eyes and approached the desk. Now, side note, I am not new at this, but I've always gone in with a design ready to go. This time I wanted to collaborate with an artist. I walked in simply wearing shorts and a tee shirt. I have no visible tattoos and no piercings. Back to the man at the desk, who wouldn't give me his name, even after I introduced myself. I asked what was the best way to schedule an appointment to talk with an artist to see if we could come up with a piece, or, if someone was available now, we could talk. Again...only one person was getting inked at the time. Without making eye contact, the guy hands me business cards, tells me to email the artists, and then says "but no one will be available for a year". I remained polite, thanked him, and held out my hand to shake his. He wouldn't even shake my hand. Ok. If you're going to judge me simply by how I look, and treat me like dirt, you don't deserve my business. read more

INCREDIBLE!!! I can't stress enough how INCREDIBLE these artists are at Venture Tattoo! If you're looking for an incredibly detailed realistic tattoo then this is your place! (If you want very cheap crap then you should should probably go someplace else...because they only do the highest quality work here!!!) I got my first tattoos at Venture from my new hero Joni and it was worth every penny, I love this art beyond words! And absolutely worth the price!!! ...Shouldn't something permanent on your body be done careful and well and totally worth the price?! If you agree then I highly suggest this place! UPDATE: Since then I've gone back to completely both sleeves and part of my back. But don't just take my word for it, go to their Instagram pages and let your eyes be the judge. Plus this place is cleaner than my doctor's office. Their bathroom is likely cleaner than yours! Anyway...you CANNOT go wrong with Venture Tattoo. But be patient and read their site instructions for requesting an appointment and send them a short email (not like I did bcuz at first I emailed them a book and quickly learned to send a couple sentences and pics of what you want). Remember these guys are busy and in high demand so your first appointment may take a while like mine did. But great things always worth the wait! Lastly, it's nearly impossible to rank these artists so based on what you're looking to do, judge for yourself but you can't go wrong with any of these guys!!! read more
