I wish I could give more stars…read more I moved here from America about 2.5 years ago and I've been going to Intershape for 2 years now. I was referred to Kobi by another hair stylist and I have been in love since. The team at Intershape is warm, welcoming and endearing. They make you feel at ease and like part of the family immediately. And I mean really like family. They are hilarious, loud, a bit of singing usually occurs and everyone has a great time. Plus I get a cheeky little drink or two or... while getting my hair done so what's not to love. Michelle does my extensions, Kobi handles my cut and color and everyone makes me feel welcome and it is a great experience every time I go. The team is a big on education and Kobi is always traveling and teaching or learning new tricks and bring them back to the salon to share with his hair family. I would honestly feel confident having any member of the team do my hair. When I started I was a fairly boring, corporate, brown with some high and low lights. Don't get me wrong, it looked great but after moving to Oz I was ready to kick up my hair. We did reds and even a hot pink shaved aside for about 2 years and recently I just transitioned to a beautiful silver/grey with extensions and I still have my shaved side. I think the best thin is that because they listen and get to know their clients they can really help evolve your hair as you evolve yourself.

Fantastic! Just…read morehad an appointment with Shannon. She is very good; took the time to talk to me, get to know what I wanted, and make suggestions on what she thought I might like. The experience started with a quick massage, some aromatherapy, and a freshly made coffee. She did some cutting then a wash of the hair (in a heated massage chair I should add). Some final touch up cuts, a style, and I was done. Not rushed but no lollygagging either. One of the stylists was trying to give away glasses of champagne; which I would have definitely taken her up on, if I didn't have to go back to work! Overall and excellent experience that I will gladly go back to!

I am someone who goes from brown to ombré, balayage to brown again cuz I'm bored. Always wanted to just go the straight blonde but told let's just do foils a few times. Which going blonde is a process I know and accept that. But the amazing Luke, is the first to actually sit and think about a way to tackle my bronde hair. The staff collaborated with each other to see what could work best to get me along my dream of being blonde. This I think was nice, they really do care about you and your hair at hair cartel. The thing I loved the most was that they didn't try and rush me along and find the quickest solution. No I was there all day and was happy to because Luke was happy to help me get closer to my dream. At no time did I feel like they were rushing my hair or getting over it. Because of this, and the time and effort that was put into me I recommend hair cartel to everyone. Honestly you will not be disappointed. Also all new customers get 20% off their first visit. Who can say no to that.

I knew of…read moreTara and tried her skills while she was still an apprentice and from there we became really good friends. You won't be able to help becoming friends with her because she is the most cheery, colourful and interesting hairstylist you'll find. Over the couple of years that Tara has been doing my hair we've taken it from bright orange to blonde to orange with a fade to blonde then orange with a fade to pink then highlighter pink then peach then back to blonde. Admittedly, I'm one of the lucky ones whose hair will give back colour without needing to use really strong, damaging products but Tara was always honest with me. If she didn't think that my hair was healthy enough to do something I wanted then she would tell me and recommend products to use that would get my hair back to good health. You always want a hairstylist that isn't going to compromise the health of your hair to give you what you're asking for but will offer some great alternatives. If you're looking for a hairdresser in the Inner West, whether for a run of the mill cut or a wild alternative look, then definitely give Tara a try. I actually haven't been to another hairdresser since I moved interstate in February because I haven't come to grips with trusting someone else with my hair!

My husband bought me a Groupon for this hair salon where I was able to get color and a cut for $89…read more After finding out the prices of hair salons in Sydney I thought it was a terrific offer. I need to clarify that this was my first time getting my hair done here in Australia, as I have just moved from Chicago, and we all hate moving salons. My appointment was at 1:30 so I arrived promptly at 1:25 and informed the hairdresser I had arrived. They brought me to a chair and asked me if I wanted water (which I accepted) and then left me. No introduction to the salon, or who would be taking care of my hair. I sat, (without a "hello" or "so and so" will be with you soon) for about 20 minutes. After that time someone finally came over and informed me she would go mix my colour. Again, no introduction (Still didn't know her name). I stopped her to explain my situation - that I was looking for change. I have been platinum blonde for too long and needed some depth. So, finally she left which was again, another 10 mins or so and came back. The entire time she was foiling me she seemed really put off that I was there. In fact, I would go as far as to say nervous maybe? No smile. I started trying to make small talk to no avail. After my hair had processed and had been cleaned I was walked over to another young girl (I think around 23) and started with the cut. I have been taking care of my hair for a long time, even told by stylists for many years that my hair takes really well to color/bleach without damage. You can imagine my surprise when this young girl turns to me and chastised me for getting highlights. Told me that my hair was in very poor condition and that I was basically an imbecile. I'm sure she was trying to be nice, or asserting her knowledge of hair... But I have worked in salons many times and I know my way around damage. is this review turning into a rant? Looks like it. Lets just say that I won't be going back here. I left feeling extremely anxious and longing for my old salon where I always felt pampered and taken care of. This Groupon failed miserably and I hate my cut. BTW - who still feather face frames these days?!

I was really happy with Edwards & Co…read more I was not a regular as I was visiting from interstate, but that didn't matter. They were so good at fitting in with my usual preferences and did a brilliant job with my colour, cut and blow dry. Premises -- Very spacious and pleasant premises, in a handy location. Colorist -- Very experienced colorist who selected the perfect combination for a half head of foils. She also sectioned perfectly to accommodate my hairline. Plus, she made some recommendations which suited my hair type brilliantly. Stylist -- A young stylist who impressed me. He made great choices that suited my hair type and face, but didn't stray outside my comfort zone. Bonus points for not pressuring additional product sales on me and for asking me if I wanted them to call me a taxi (which I did) - way to predict my needs. Also, I was quite impressed with their range of coffees, teas and snacks offered as complimentary.
