I explained this to the hairdresser she said we'd have to do it in stages ect, I said I wanted an all over colour change. I didn't like the highlight look. She explained the way she did highlights it would look mostly like One block colour. I figured she had more experience then me. So i said sure. When she was done with highlights ect. My hair looked really streaky and I was disappointed. I tried to explain this, but she just said going blonde was a process. So I went home and slept on it, figuring I would feel better in the morning. The next day I still felt unhappy with my hair and considering I paid 290 and I'm just an university student. So getting my hair coloured is a real treat. I decided to ring up and explain the situation. I got a pretty aggressive guy, I dunno if he was just stressed or that's his manner. He wanted to put me in contact with the hairdresser I had the miscommunication with, I explained I wasn't comfortable with that and would rather just use someone else in future. He seemed disgruntled and annoyed and it made me feel anxious. So I decided I would just go somewhere else, I explained this to him, he seemed annoyed. He rang back half an hour later and asked again if I would like to book an appointment to get my hair fixed. This time I agreed as I couldn't really afford to go Somewhere else and he sounded calmer. I explained I needed my hair done by today though, because I had a wedding the next day. He said there were no available appointments and he couldn't help me until next week. I explained that I needed a quick fix, because I had a wedding and I needed to look right for the photos. He seemed to get snappy and annoyed again. So I just said I would have to go somewhere else as I needed it done by tomorrow and I did. After I went to the next place, where they fixed my hair and did an exceptional job. (Brown to blonde super easily and really friendly) I decided that maybe I could Ask for a refund considering they weren't able to fix my hair for me and now In total this hair had cost me 500 dollars. I rang inches hair back to discuss this and the man basically just yelled at me, for even ringing him again and hung up. All in all an awful experience. I completely understand that sometimes hairdressers don't get it right ect ect. But what I don't understand is how Incredibly unhelpful and rude they were making me feel anxious and uncomfortable. At this point it's not even about if I got a refund or not, it's about the fact they were so rude to their customers. So disappointed, would not recommend.

Many of the rating sites seem to include straight out accusations that the owners were posting the reviews. So with little to go on, the detective work began. Criteria were: Surry Hills / Darlinghurst, Professionalism (i.e. when I call, a person answers the phone with the name of the salon. Disqualification for: "hello?" me: "Um, is this - salon name - ?" Them: "Yeah."). Experience - the more years in the business the better, bonus points for a cut with the owner. Disqualification for: "Yeah, she's from Europe, so ..." Final criteria: scarcity. Great, experienced stylists always seem to be in demand. I was shocked at the 2 month wait for my last stylist, but dern it if it wasn't totally worth it. Anyone candidate who was available any old time was disqualified. This process led me to a totally satisfactory, $74 dollar haircut by George at Saba. I didn't have anything fancy done - just a cut - which he did exactly as I asked him to. He also identified a hair issue, then immediately resolved it for me (the real mark of a professional in my book).
