Seasonal place, soft serve, hard ice cream, frozen bananas, cakes and ice cream bars. It's decent. I'm not a big fan of soft-serve, but i find theirs much more desirable than dairy queen, which i didn't realize i truly disliked until i tried this place. I like their hard ice cream more, they serve Chapmans currently. They've had a few seasonal things like pumpkin spice swirl and other sundaes, which can change a bit as the seasons go. There's typically a bit of a line, but don't be discouraged, it doesn't usually take too long.
Their strength seems to be in soft serve as they offer a few options and many, many dips such as a chocolate shell, caramel or coconut and peanut butter ones. However, these are limited to the soft serve ice creams. I've asked about dipping the hard ice creams and they won't do it, which i find ludicrous as i've also worked a dessert stand and hard ice cream was the only thing we had for the chocolate shell and i never lost a scoop. They will drizzle some sauce or topping on top of the hard ice cream, which was nice if you don't mind paying for it.
One more thing i find bizarre, but i'm finding it seems to be common in Manitoba (at least Brandon) is they advertise 'whipped topping' like it should be super exciting whipped cream or something, but they use a funky tasting cool whip. I will admit to being spoiled as i'm not from here and i've never met anyone who uses margarine or cool whip like this entire town! (It's crazy, if you're going to do it, do it the best, you're not fooling anyone into being healthier with this margarine and low cal whipped topping business). It's tangy and a poor substitute for whipped cream. Even if it's just the canned stuff.
The staff has always been prompt and friendly. Minus one star for no dipping hard ice cream, 'whipped topping' and personally i find it a tad on the expensive side, just a tad. Mind you that never stopped us from visiting. read more
