They are very hard to communicate with. They never finish what they start. They take your money and then disappear. They broke the lid to the new toilet I bought back in October. On Dec.20 I asked Steve, the owner, about the status of the new lid. He said thet it was at his suppliers. It is now March 3. STILL NO LID TO MY TOILET! ALSO, supposedly they have ordered the cabinets for my laundry room. I get no response from them! I have paid them 90% with 10% remaining. They didn't install the door to a storage room or put in a linen closet or enclose a mechanical room or put in a door to a crawl space. Once a good company, not anymore. It will take months before you hear anything from them. Don't waste your time to request for quote. They will come to your house. You will waste hours with the "specialist". You will not hear back from them ever again. read more

Steve Vlk took my money and ran. Paid for work in July 2019 and NEVER saw anyone again. Was very simple 2 window replacement job. Never ordered materials, provided lie after lie after lie as to delays, and has yet to provide refund despite months of promises he would. read more

We decided to have two of our baths remodeled due to the fact that both my husband and I are aging. The cabinets were too low for our comfort, the toilets also were too low. Jeff came to the house and gave us some new and refreshing ideas for both the baths without breaking the bank. The work was performed on time, the quality of construction material used was of good quality and the workmanship was outstanding. The whole remodel was beyond my expectation! The first contractor I hired took the money for materials and got arrested on his way to my house. I never saw a days work or one penny of my money. Then I found a contractor through an ad in the local circular and saw that it was veteran owned, veteran operated. I called and the guy came out the next morning, I showed him the basement and what I needed done. I wanted my (already finished) basement remodeled and bedrooms built. He told me if I did all of the demo work he could do the job from beginning to end, including all the materials for 4,100. The contract was written up right then (this was in August) and I signed it. He said it would take anywhere from 4-7 Wks. As the job dragged on and on, there were different materials I was asked to purchase and pick up, slowly driving up the amount. It seemed as though less and less work was getting done on the house and he was asking for more and more money. After the first deadline came and went, he promised the basement would be finished by Halloween. It was nowhere near finished and he needed more money, then he promised it would be done by thanksgiving. Well thanksgiving came and went and he was nowhere near done and he needed more money. Promised it would be done by Christmas, at this point he had all but stopped showing up and two days after Christmas, I was horrified at the mess in the basement, which looked better before he began working on it. Two days after Christmas I texted him asking what the deal with the basement was. I'd spent 6,700 at this point, his response was that he needed 2,500 more and could do nothing until receiving the additional money. I explained that I'd already given him way over the contract, his response being he underestimated how much it was going to be in man hours. Well the basement was a disaster the walls looked terrible, in some areas he had used concrete screws instead of drywall and screwed right through into the above hallway, the walls were a mess as were the ceilings. No doors, floors, electric or windows, it was a nightmare! I was out of money and terrified to trust another contractor!!! My friend suggested I call her contractor for an estimate, so I did! They came out quickly and were extremely professional. They said they couldn't give me an estimate without sitting down and running it through their computer program. The contractor was baffled at the state of the basement and extremely apologetic that I had been taken advantage of not once but twice. When the contractor Jeff got back to me, he explained that after hearing my story that he'd relayed it to the owner and they were not only going to complete the job in a little over a week but because of my financial situation and what had been done to me, they were going to donate all of their labor and only charge me materials. I was astonished and couldn't stop crying...they fixed the other contractors disastrous mess and completed the job. It is beyond anything I could have ever expected. When I saw it I cried, I was so stunned. I didn't even know them but they saw what had happened and decided to right someone else's wrong. What business donates a week and a half of their time and loses out on other jobs, for a perfect stranger! Their work was impeccable, they were beyond professional, they mopped the floors at the end of the night cleaning up all the dust. I was just amazed that people like that still exist! We recently had Velk Construction complete an addition to our home. From start to finish, their attention to detail was on point. They even had the rest of our home professionally cleaned when they completed the project! We especially LOVE the barrier free walk in shower that they designed for us! With my wife having MS, they helped us plan for the future with wider doorways, flush floor transitions, and a barrier free entry from outside of our home. They didn't have the lowest price, but they were the most through. Jeff made us feel so comfortable and was able to put a complete package together for us. I think after the whole project was completed, we only had one change order! We've done other projects with other companies before and have spent almost half of our budget on things the previous contractors didn't account for, or see.
