So I became open to the idea of ordering from Europe but was worried about the complexity. Google discovered that Harsted Antik had my pattern, and Google also very kindly translated the site into English for me! I found a number of different offerings of my pattern and ordered two of the parcels that were offered. Then came the hard part, arranging for payment and shipment. But it wasn't hard at all! Through email, I dealt with Kristian Harsted-Simonsen, who made it all simple. He invoiced me using PayPal, so payment was a breeze. And he combined two orders into a single parcel, so I paid just a single shipping charge. I was in Copenhagen a year ago but didn't know about the store I would have loved the chance to meet Mr. Harsted-Simonsen, but don't know when I'll have the chance to be there again. They have an interesting site, and I'm sure the store itself is fascinating, judging from the photos on the Web.

This store is on the main street, Amagertorv. I went inside just to see what it offered, and from…read morea tourist experience, it was fantastic. There are two floors of hand painted porcelain. These are some of the finest pieces of porcelain in the world. I looked at it as if it were a museum of exquisite plates, cups, glasses, platters, service ware, and bowls. There are walls of examples, as well as explanations of how its made. I'm sure I spent between 30 to 60 minutes in this store. Is everything the very best quality? Yes. Are they beautiful? Yes. Is this worth seeing? Yes, especially if you happen to pass it. Did I intend to buy anything? Absolutely not. None of these items are in my price range. If you added up all of my serving ware, plates, cups, etc. I'm sure the total value of my entire kitchen is less than the cost of a plate here. But that doesn't mean it's not fun to look. Don't worry, no one is going to make you feel uncomfortable because you are clearly a gawker, not a buyer. Surprisingly, there ARE many actual buyers in the store. If you enjoy this experience, stop into the Georg Jensen Silver silver store that is literally next to Royal Copenhagen for another experience.

To me it seemed like they had what would be the best items from a really good loppemarked. Didn't end up buying anything, but the prices seemed pretty fair. I noticed they have a lot of set of things (chairs, cups, etc) that you could buy all together. The woman working there was very nice and offered to answer any questions I had. They also sell teas and you can buy a coffee there as well.
