We are so lucky to live this side of town. We've taken meat-eating friends here for a meal and seen them declaring they're now going to try vegetarianism because of the taste, variety and general clean feeling in the gut afterwards. The chefs are excellent. Try the (non-meat) pork balls, the kung po chicken, the ginger duck, 'spare ribs' (although I find them just a little too 'meaty') - five-thousand year traditional cuisine updated in consideration of environmental and animal issues... and totally delicious! I've tried other vegetarian restaurants but, not usually a fan of Chinese food, this one beats anything I've eaten in Melbourne, in Europe (except a small cellar in Paris, Southbank) or in Shanghai itself. Brought up on Sunday roasts, Monday tea sausages etc., I label this place one of my great food finds. read more
