A good vegan meal gives your body a wonderful feel of balanced satisfaction. Vengo, I left with a heartburn. The place breathed disinterest. Our reservation was forgotten, the menus were dirty and sticky, the toilets did not look like somebody was responsible for them, the bread was served in a messy heap. The main courses were mediocre and served 5 minutes after we received our starter...which thus became our desert. The person who wrote that this is the best vegan restaurant in northern Germany should urgently be liberated from the egg he/she is living in. If you are a vegan and want to enthusiastically show vegan food to friends and family, DO NOT start here. You will not convince them.

Both inside and outside dining areas are comfortable. I had the vegan burger with sweet potato fries. The food was delicious and our server was polite, professional and efficient. The burger was huge so it was a bit challenging getting a full bite. I'd recommend not removing the wooden stick/stake that comes with the burger to help hold it together or resort to using a knife and fork. Otherwise, I enjoyed the meal and ambiance and I'll definitely be going back to try their sausages (wurst).

Coming from the southern USA I had my doubts but ordered the spare ribs, friend got a steak, other friend got the 24 hour beef which I think translates better to Prime rib roast. All were done quite well! Ribs were a very good, more of a St. Louis style wet rib, sauce on the sweeter side, but fall off the bones tender. Steak was cooked to a proper rare and not over seasoned. Meat quality was excellent! The manhattan was good (Bulliet bourbon is the top shelf). Beer selection is the usual German varieties Weiss wheat or dunkle. They do have a nice gin selection. Since we were looking for a dinner spot, we decided that we would check it out. Thankfully there was no wait, and we were seated very quickly. The lofted ceilings and the huge wine caskets were very cool and were fun to photograph. We asked if we could sit in one of the private booths, which they very kindly allowed. It got to be super stuffy in the booth and I would not recommend dining with a large group in the booths, but it was cozy and romantic for just me and my husband. Food was just okay, I felt like everything was a bit too salty for my palate, but there was a great assortment of land and sea options.
