The dental hygienist was excellent. The office staff was courteous. But, Dr. Vega refused to examine me after my teeth cleaning. They said it was because I would not pay for new X-rays. In 60 years of going to dentists, I've never had a dentist refuse to examine me after a teeth cleaning, with or without x-rays. Moreover, he examined my wife just a couple of days ago without requiring new x-rays. It could be I am misunderstanding something. But, the office did not give me a satisfactory explanation. read more

I recently went to Vega smile studio because I thought that I chipped my tooth on a piece of meat (bone). I was visiting Florida at the time and was worried that I would have to end my vacation early to go to my dentist. I found Dr. Vega on yelp and I'm glad I did. When I called, the receptionist immediately got me an appointment. They quickly handled the paperwork and saw me right away. Shortly after taking X-rays, Dr. Vega informed me that my tooth was NOT cracked and explained in detail what was happening with my tooth and why it was hurting and how to treat it. He patiently and kindly answered all my questions and was reassuring. His office also followed up to make sure I was doing better a few days later. It's been a few weeks, and Dr. Vega was spot on, I followed his advice and my tooth is feeling 100%. Overall, the Dr. and the staff are very friendly, helpful, fair, trustful, and most importantly knowledgeable about teeth. I definitely recommend making Dr. Vega your dentist. read more

I can not understand why this office did what it did to me. First off, i went to them a year and a half ago for an emergency tooth ache that was so flipping bad that I had called out of work for two days. The nurse was kind enough to see me on a day that the office was closed due to my emergency, which i was very thankful for. We got an x-ray done and i was given a prescription for medication to kill my infection, and was told that before we proceeded any further i would need to go to a different affiliated office to have a different x-ray done to determine whether we can save my tooth. This is where it went wrong. I did not want a root canal, which i was clear about because i can not afford it, and i could not afford this other x-ray that would NOT be covered under my insurance (the other X-ray was over $300 and then we would determine if my tooth could be saved, which we all know that root canals are not inexpensive). I was very clear to the nurse that I would not be going for that other x-ray because I could not afford an X-ray that I knew I would not be doing a root canal with--and asked if they could PLEASE pull my tooth because I was sure that I didn't want it--we had been communicating over text and she never responded. I was literally ignored after I revealed that I wouldn't consider a root canal. It was extremely humiliating to beg this office to pull this tooth because i could not afford a tooth canal and I can't understand why i was ignored and denied help . Anyways, a year and a half later I went to another dentist for the same tooth under an emergency and it was pulled right then and there. Dr. Ericsson in east boca is great, he didn't even bother trying to sell me on a root canal because he could tell that i was suffering and my gums were so swollen that my bite was off. I can't understand why this office failed to help me. It feels cruel. read more

Dr. Vega has worked on my family for several years. I know his staff well. He has treated my wife and I flawlessly, and when issues have flared up, he has been there for us, be it late nights or weekends, on the phone, caring about us. My wife had a pretty long treatment and was in pain for days, some of the medication would not work, and he was there with her on the phone looking for options. On myself, he performed a crown replacement, with another crown that looked as good as my old tooth. Excellent work. I think the longest I have waited might be 15 minutes, and there are always cookies! We also bring our baby boy and they have no issues with him sometimes walking around etc. Very laid back and relaxed atmosphere in that office. read more

I didn't use this dentist but I was not impressed with the charges quoted on the phone. $199 for a visit with x-rays, or I could get the "plan" special for $250 which would include the x-rays and I could get the cleaning for $50, so basically they would want $300 for a cleaning, exam and x-ray. Um - NO! Vega may be a good dentist but thank goodness he's not the only dentist in town. read more

I cant say enough great things about Dr. Vega and his office staff. First of all, I went in because my front tooth needed to be fixed from a car accident. Most of my tooth was broken off and every dentist lead me in a terrible direction as far as fixing it goes, let alone put on a terrible temporary bond that made me look hideous. He made sure that even my temporary tooth matched my other teeth while I waited for a permanent fix, which came out to be beautiful!!!! The hygienist was the sweetest person and she calmed me down from anxiety during the procedure and he had me cracking up with laughter the whole time. I love this dentist office. First the office staff are so pleasant and friendly. Dr. Vega has a great personality and always makes me feel welcome. I used to bounce around and use groupons or get deals where ever I could until I found this office. This place makes you feel like family and they want you to come back. The other offices say they want you to come back but they try to up sell you on every corner and tell you how awful your teeth or gums are then give you a plan that costs thousands of dollars and tell you your face is going to fall off if you do not do it. It's funny because if you are reading this you know what I am talking about lol. Once I came to this office I didn't get any of that and just got an honest assessment of my teeth and a good cleaning. That was years ago, my face didn't fall off, and I have been going ever since. I finally broke down and even had my teeth fixed recently because what he charged was actually reasonable and my teeth came out even better than I expected. i AM SO PLEASED!! That is what prompted me after all this time to put a review up.
