A really great experience in the middle of the night on the 4th of July. Very friendly staff who were so patient and sweet with my poor girl who has a case of Swimmer's Tail. They didn't push me to do anything I wasn't comfortable with but also gave me plenty of options for treatment and they were extremely helpful with explaining the medicine we chose. They had us in and out in 30 minutes! Very grateful to have y'all nearby if we're ever in need again! read more

I couldn't be more thankful for the entire staff at this location. We received news today that we will have to put one of our beloved animals down and had been fearing that since yesterday. Every single person on staff comforted us, talked to us, asked if they could get us anything. Nobody was trying to rush us, they gave us space when needed, helped us laugh through the hard moments. Their job is hard and emotionally taxing everyday and yet they still put on their best to support us in this hard time and I'm so thankful. read more

I spent many hours and $850 here on Sunday morning. While the night shift people were very sweet, and the young male doctor was on to something when he said that my dog's tail felt swollen, it was soon shift change, and I felt unseen and talked over by the new very young female doctor. I left with no clue about what had caused my dog to be in so much pain. I tried to file with my pet insurance, and VEG was not on the list of "known clinics", and there was no diagnosis given on the paperwork...both of these issues are causing me problems filing the claim. Monday I was able to see Dr Lewis at Animalia and she knew in 5 minutes exactly what was wrong.....acute caudal myopathy aka limber tail syndrome. So, I know that Blue Pearl is on the "known clinic" list, and I wonder if they have more experienced vets? I won't be going back to VEG. read more

TWO VISITS ------------ ONE WEEKEND - We spent a super busy Sunday afternoon here (couple hour wait, as more critical cases kept coming in), while I appreciate them taking those critical cases in ahead of us it was getting quite long to wait. Thankfully it feels like home with the couches, snacks and drinks and the front staff were extra super duper nice and kind. We found out no Temaril p which would be nice to have known ahead of time as she was just having a bad allergy season. We ended up just doing a Dexsp shot which brought her welts down. I don't feel like the staff that took her temperature had it positioned right because our dog looked and acted extremely uncomfortable. ONE WEEKDAY - The next day, we were back there a very early Monday morning (5am) here for more allergy welts. A bit worse this time. The doctor and male nurse were both INCREDIBLE. Also it was less busy this time which was refreshing to be seen so quickly. Overall we will be back for any emergencies! read more

Wonderful emergency care. My pup unfortunately didn't make it, but the team took time to try their hardest with CPR, etc. They are very caring and understanding of loss. They let my family and I take our time with my 11 year old pup. I was traveling from out of town and they made sure to get my pups remains back in time before I left and with extra care. I would recommend them over and over. Alexis is a wonderful associate to work with. read more

Our experience was incredible. Any bad reviews you see are sad, and I know it's hard to have a sick pet, but these people are there to do a job. I'm sure they are required by some dude up at corporate to collect money up front and that shouldn't be held against them. So no, the service isn't free, it's an ER, expect the cost to be higher than it would be at a regular vet, ESPECIALLY on a weekend or after hours, like don't be silly. The care and service we received was phenomenal - you get what you pay for. read more

Had a great experience here. The doctor and the tech were both extremely helpful and informative. Abigail (I believe was a tech) was a great help to us and seemed to care so much about our baby dog. Thank you for your help! Will be coming back in case of another pet emergency. read more

The idea of staying by your pets side for the process is appreciated, but I was not impressed with my visit. I arrived at 10pm and was checked in swiftly, which was nice. My dog had been gagging/choking and breathing weird. They offered to do an x-ray and if that came back with nothing on it, then bloodwork. They make you pay up front and my bill already had the bloodwork listed. I asked them to remove it and focus on the xrays first. It took two hours for my dog to be collected for xrays, and an additional hour and a half for them to get the results read. They said there was nothing wrong with him, but possibly a mass near his soft pallet. They recommended us to get additional testing with our regular vet and sent us home at 4am with a $878 bill. Contacted his regular vet immediately to book an appoitment. I found out from them that the note they sent them states that we declined additional procedures such as a sedated upper air way exam and a mouth scope. Neither of these were even offered to us!! After the x-ray results they were so eager for us to leave even though nothing was solved. My dog was still coughing and gagging and struggling to breathe. They explained that there was no useful cough medicine for him. Our regular vet looked at the x-rays and did not see the mass they were talking about. They did an x-ray, the mouth scope and the upper air way exam sedated and found a blade of grass on his soft pallet!! If VEG had recommended the services they say that I declined, I could have left with a healthy dog and not been worried about a mass or tumors. My vet also did all 3 exams for $350. I know it's an emergency room and they upcharge, but they did one thing. One thing for $800 and then said that we declined any additional help. I am appalled. That they would lie on official reports but also allow their patients to leave without knowing what was ever wrong in the first place. I will not recommend this place to anyone unless they are desperate enough and can demand every available option be presented to them. read more

This is the second time we brought our pet to this animal hospital, I am sure it's the last. First of all, THEY HAVE NO RECORD ON FILE of our last visit in JULY 2024; it is now DEC. 2024, and NOTHING ON FILE. Second, after the girl kept digging and digging and digging in her neck, trying to get a blood sample, dropping the needle, and having to get someone else to try, it's ridiculous. At our regular vet, the wellness clinic in Spring Hill, they get the blood fairly quickly, without the digging and causing our little girl to scream to high heaven. Third, while discussing this fiasco with the blood; a rude girl stated "she does know what she's doing; you don't have to be rude" then immediately walked away, i guess to avoid a confrontation. which she almost got. This place is MONEY HUNGRY. They are TWICE as much higher since out LAST visit in July. PLUS they don't come across as caring; just MONEY HUNGRY, all while shoving ipads in your face, because, its the MONEY FIRST, then the exam..... they will not lift a finger until they get their money FIRST...... MONEY MONEY MONEY. read more

Last week on Sunday, March 31 we noticed our rabbit was having labored breathing. Out of the blue his health went downhill and we took him to VEG in Franklin. To start it's not easy to find a place that treats "exotic animals" but we found them. I can't say enough for the immediate care and attention Mr. Wiggles was given. Everything was open and clean and the staff was compassionate and empathetic to our very bad turn of events. Even when they placed him in oxygen they kindly brought us a chair to sit in front of him so he could see us. They were honest in their prognosis and gave us the chance to give him a chance. Sadly he succumbed to his acute onset of infection, did not improve and we decided to let him rest in peace. Today we received a beautiful sympathy card and will always be thankful to the team at VEG in Franklin for what was a very sad day for us. read more

We have visited VEG a few times unfortunately, but everyone we have encountered is compassionate and kind. Glad to have an emergency service available (I would say close by although we live an hour away, so really that is actually rather close out here). As with any emergency care, cost could be an issue. However, we have had excellent care for our dogs here. read more

HORRIFYING! DO NOT RECOMMEND EVER! We had a devastating experience at this location. It has taken months to write our experience as we are utterly crushed. Every day we suffer nightmares about the loss of our beloved dog at their uncaring profiteer hands. We will NEVER be the same for the loss we have suffered. They have done irreparable damage to our family. Our beloved dog had an emergent situation & we raced to this location to save our dog's life. We didn't know where else to go as it was late night & we were unfamiliar with what was open. We arrived upset, crying, & we were clear that we wanted to save our sweet dog's life. In 5-8 minutes an iPad was shoved in our faces telling us we already spent $1500. Money was clearly the forefront of this Vet Group's concern. The iPad was repeatedly shoved in our faces with new/higher amounts over, & over, & over again. We were repetitively asked if we wanted to euthanize our beautiful dog. It felt overly harassing. We kept refusing. We were then told that surgery would cost $12,000! Everything here was ALL about the MONEY. At no time was there a plan to pay, or lower costs, to help save our dog. The staff made us feel as though a gun was to our heads, it was either the money or the dog. Additionally, certain staff exacerbated our dog's pain by mishandling our dog. Our dog was in pain & they put her roughly down on her ruptured side on a scale on the floor. Absolutely thoughtless, unprofessional & careless! We had to literally urge them to stop, as our dog was in pain & vocalizing in yelps. We then had to tell them not to handle her that way. They were relentless in asking us if we wanted to euthanize our dog over & over again. We were moved to a different table & the monitors that we were charged for to monitor our dog's condition went out while our dog was still connected to the monitor. What Vet Hospital allows monitors to go out in an emergent situation?! When we told Dr. Pennington to plug our dog's monitor back in she seemed to have little to no concern that it was out in an emergent situation. She even remarked that it happens frequently, like no big deal, as if we were monitoring our tires at a gas station, not our beloved animal who was bleeding in an emergency. We were on the brink of getting our dog a blood bag, as we were told "...they were the only place to do it." We wanted to take our dog to our regular Vet as we felt no compassion or help here & we didn't have $12,000 we were told to pay to save her. It was then that Dr. P told us "..,our Vet probably wouldn't do the surgery because it was a Friday..." What kind of coercion is this to tell to people who are crying & desperate to save their dog's life that IF you leave your dog will not be helped by others?! It was absolutely abhorrent for her to be so negative, unprofessional, & mess with our heads. After relentless requests from staff if we would euthanize & Dr. P saying our Vet would probably not do surgery, despite zero confirmation of this, we felt coerced to their repetitive ask of euthanasia as our dog was bleeding profusely. They hijacked our vulnerability. We were beat down after hours of repetive asks & put in a "quiet room" for the last moments of our dog's life to be interrupted repeatedly, over & over, with the iPad coming in with costs & how we were paying them. They held onto & played with the iPad as if they were taking orders for burgers & shakes. It was totally unprofessional & absolutely disgusting! I almost screamed at the woman the fourth time she interrupted our last moments with our sweet dog, but I didn't for the sake of my precious dog as she lay on my chest bleeding out & I didn't want her to panic or suffer more at the hands of this horrifying place. Dr. P spun the act of euthanasia in such a "wonderful way," yet our dog got the first shot & was clearly having a bad reaction. At this point, Dr. P said outloud, "She's fighting it." WHY would anyone SAY this to people who are crying hysterically grieving, LOSING their BELOVED DOG. This is egregious & beyond words. Our sweet dog's last night of life was horrifying & not peaceful at all. The entire experience was utterly horrifying! We will never be at peace nor will we ever be able to get over the horrific treatment we received. We called to alert the Director of the Hospital to what transpired. We were originally put off as she was not available for a couple of weeks. One of us finally spoke to the Director who admitted fault in "some of the protocol" yet it's too late our precious dog is dead. The test they said showed spleen issue we asked for & never got copies of nor did we use all fluids paid for & never used. We were totally taken advantage of at the expense of our dog's life. If you love your animals DO NOT TAKE THEM HERE. We will NEVER recommend this Vet Group. We will look into filing formal complaints against the Veterinary Emergency Group in Franklin and the Dr./Vet for putting profit over care. read more

Well, I just came back from WCAH, where I paid $206 for the examination and 3 different types of medications. Turns out that his eye lid wasn't actually torn (I could not see it well because he is a very furry dog), so he doesn't even need stitches because the wound is so superficial. Just antibiotic, pain killer and eye drops. So VEG was going to do sutures just to get more $ out of us. That's disturbing. So much about the "top quality attention" and the $175 examination, they didn't even clip the hair around his eyes (he is very furry) which would have made it obvious that it was just a scrape. read more

My dog Riggins ate some concrete powder, which is corrosive. I took him immediately to VEG in Cool Springs/Franklin, TN. The facility was excellent, clean, comfortable, and well-controlled. We immediately got assigned a room, and it only took about 30 seconds for someone to come and take his vitals and then maybe 10 minutes for the vet to come in. In the meantime, almost everybody who works there came by to visit Riggins, and we appreciated that. The care was very affordable, quick, and convenient. I hope I never have to go there again, but since I have three dogs, I probably will. I will not hesitate to bring any of my pets here. The entire staff was phenomenal, and the care was thorough. Riggins is going to be fine as long as he doesn't chew up the syringe for the chalky medicine he has to take this week! Thanks for everything, VEG Cool Springs/Franklin! read more

I cannot recommend VEG enough. I recently took my bunny there who showed signs of stasis, and they quickly got to work supporting him. Not all emergency vets know a lot about rabbits or exotics, but the people here are well educated and were able to prepare us for possibilities and next steps. They connected us with a phenomenal rabbit specialist in their network for his surgery and were there with us after as he recovered. They let me be there with him while things were happening, set up a place for me to rest so I could be right there in case anything happened, and showed genuine interest in my bunny and our family. I speak for my bunny and myself when I say, we truly felt loved and cared for by this staff. They were able to build trust quickly so I was confident enough to take a short nap overnight, knowing he was in great hands and that someone really would come get me if something happened. VEG has been a ray of light during this stressful time, and I will sing their praises to anyone I meet. I am so grateful for this team, their expertise, and their values. I hate the circumstances that brought us together, but I am so grateful to have experienced their care. read more

This was the most dramatic thing that has happened to my big pup and I couldn't have found a better place to take care of him. He immediately found it soothing and comforting there. I was afraid and definitely going through and ever staff knew so. They not only comforted him but me as well. I recommend 10/10 that anyone who has a medical emergency with their pup or any animal please take them here. You won't regret it. read more
