These are just normal daily activities but it is more irritating than other apartments we have lived in. Although everyone is required to purchase a carpet, no one is checking or enforcing it. It should be the responsibility of the property management/owner in controlling the noise, not us tenants. * The apartments are quite small for the price * The apartment manager is not very responsive

We stayed here for two years…read more Pros - * The apartment manager, Lindsay, was pretty responsive and got things fixed in a reasonable time frame. * The mail box and laundry rooms are fairly close by. The laundry room is usually available and I've rarely encountered anyone else using the washer/dryer when I wanted to do laundry. The prices are pretty fair too ($1.50 for washing, $1.75 for drying IIRC). * There is no guest parking on the complex. However, there was plenty of parking on Alameda. * Rent is negotiable. We were able to get our rent lowered by $200 when it came time to renew our lease when we pointed out we saw an ad that a 1 bed 1 bath was renting for $1200 in the same apartment complex. * It's a pretty quiet apartment complex. At night, when we close our windows, we are hear very little noise from talking or noise from cars driving by outside. Cons * We lived on the first floor and as a result, in the morning, once in a while, we could hear footsteps and chairs/tables being moved in the morning from the upstairs unit. It was a bit irritating but that comes with living in an apartment. You are required (in your lease) to purchase a carpet for your hallway, living room, and bedroom but that didn't help with the occasional noise. * The apartments are on the smaller side. The one bed one bath was about 500 sq feet.

This could have easily been a 5-star review, but the whole experience was ruined by one person --…read moreFiona, the manager of the apartment complex. She acts as if she owns the place, and some of us are treated more like unwanted guests than paying residents. She has a habit of inventing non-existent rules, such as not allowing kids in the pool, being overly aggressive about children's behavior, and even restricting residents from having friends in common areas. She is unresponsive to resident needs unless they happen to align with what she personally wants. One incident that stands out was over a simple cart that someone had left near our apartment. Instead of addressing it calmly, Fiona immediately began screaming and accusing us of leaving it there. It turned into a huge fight, and only after several days did she admit she was wrong. Situations like this could have been handled in a much friendlier and more professional way -- but that is simply not her style. I've heard from neighbors who have since moved out that Fiona may have had a difficult past, and perhaps that explains some of her behavior. But honestly, why should residents have to endure it? We pay to live here, not to be dictated to or treated unfairly. It's a shame, because the neighbors are wonderful, the facilities are great, and most of the staff are fantastic. But it only takes one person to ruin what could have been an excellent living experience.

Statistically, the average is 7 years. Our children grow up here and we make homes here. Many of us have colorfully personalized our gardens and outdoor spaces for YEARS and it is one of the best features. However, as noted in other reviews- management has changed multiple times with each change declining in quality, service, and respect for the tenants who all work to make this place a wonderful place to live- both at Stanford West and working hard at Stanford University. Now they are demanding unlimited access to your space for monitoring and destroying personal gardens that have been thriving for half a decade or more. Demanding personal expressions and art be removed, threatening tenants. This most recent change impacts more than half the property. They also recently tried to sneak in a huge upcharge on EV plugs and we as tenants had to collectively organize and communicate amongst ourselves to protest/boycott the property chargers and have the price gouging reversed. Also- the comment on the packages is accurate. They literally take your packages and hold them hostage to try to get you to buy in to the "delivery" amenity. Yet they lose packages regularly, refuse to give access on the weekends even though the policy says 7days/week, and fail to log in packages that CLEARLY say "perishable" and they give you no choice about this theft. This is NOT the expected quality of living for 4500$/mo. And it is not at all on brand for "Stanford"

I've been living in Country Sharon for about 9 months now…read more Pros - Good price for the location. Our 1008 sq feet (according to the floor plan) 2 bed 2 bath apartment was $2100. Most other places around Sharon Road was at least $2200 or above (though those places were bigger). - We could either pay rent via check or via direct withdrawal (wherein you provide the property manager with a voided check and they withdraw the amount of rent you owe each month automatically from your checking account). - There is plenty of parking. You are assigned one covered parking and the rest of the open parking is first come first serve. - Maintenance was prompt. If there was an issue, we just called the property manager and he would take care of it. They also notified you promptly (via email or via a note on your front door the day before) if the water pipes are turned off for maintenance. Cons - You couldn't drop your check off in a mailbox in the complex somewhere if you don't do direct withdrawal. Instead, you need to mail your check to a PO Box located somewhere in Redwood City so this is an extra step of inconvenience. - The mailbox is in the front of the complex and not nearby each apartment. Our apartment was in the back of the complex near the parking lot so it was a bit out of the way to pick up mail (about a 2 minute out of the way walk). - The walls are a bit thin. When my windows were open, I could hear a baby crying from the apartment down the hallway at one point. When my windows were closed, I could still hear indistinct murmurings from people passing by the hallway outside of my window. At night when it's quiet, with the deck door closed, I could hear the faint sound of the TV from a downstairs apartment floating upstairs. - The apartment we toured before moving in had granite counter tops and a newer stove. The one we ended up renting did not have either of those but we were still charged the same amount. So just a caveat that the pictures on the website might not reflect the apartment you are renting. - The specific apartment I am in has a smaller bedroom and a much bigger master bedroom. As a result, the smaller bedroom heats up much faster compared to the master bedroom so my room mate and I couldn't really use the central heating for our bedrooms since at certain temperatures, I'd be warm but she would be freezing or I would be toasting hot, but she would be warm. We ended up each having to get a portable heater to warm up our rooms. General - Since we live in the 2nd floor apartment, it heats up quite a bit in the summer. - Our electric bill is about $30 to $80 a month (more in the winter/summer, less in the Spring/Fall). - Although the apartment is across from an elementary school, I haven't noticed any issue with traffic or noise from the school. - UPS/Fedex packages are delivered to your front door. I have not had any issues of any missing or lost packages. USPS packages are also usually delivered to your front door though on the rare occasion, I've had USPS place my packages on top of the mailbox that is at the front of the complex.

This place will tell potential applicants that they only allow 2 adults and 2 children in a 2 bed 2…read morebath. But this is against fair housing laws in California. I think it is fair to assume they do this in order to keep students from Stanford out. So if you are a student attempting to rent here do not let them try and pull this, it is called the "two-plus one" rule which states "rule: If a landlord's policy is more restrictive than two persons per bedroom plus one additional occupant, it is suspect. Thus, a landlord is asking for trouble by insisting on no more than two people in a one-bedroom unit, four in a two-bedroom unit, six in a three-bedroom unit and so on." So students do not let them turn you away!

Both times were for post-surgery rehab, mainly there for PT/OT to regain her strength. I should preface that my mom is in generally good health for her age (95), no dementia, heart condition or diabetes, and did not require special meals or medication. The Vi's facility and meals are excellent- private rooms with attached full bathrooms are essential to have the proper rest for recovery. All the staff are friendly and courteous. Keep in mind that the job of a CNA is neither easy nor pleasant and we truly appreciate the level of care they treated my mom. The in-house physician, Dr. Hussain, and her assistant, Nan, were very attentive and diligent. Nan visited my mom three times a week, ordering any tests necessary, always on top of her condition and medication, and patiently addressing our concerns. A special shout out to the therapy department-all the PT, OT, and ST are highly qualified, provided the appropriate challenge and motivation for my mom's rehab which was essential for her to regain her independence. The rooms and bathrooms are always clean, no smell anywhere in the entire facility. No patients 'parked' in the hallways or nursing stations. There are plenty of activities and live performances which are shared with the Assisted Living and Memory Care residents, a bonus where the SNF, AL, and MC are physically connected. The VI SNF, as good as it is, is not the same as having your own personal helper 24/7(which some patients do hire). Patient to CNA ratio about 6:1 (I think). Some patients require 2 person-assist and some don't. The promptness of care really depending on the level of care your neighbors require. There are times when my mom rings the button for help and no one comes for a while; then there are times when 2 people come within minutes. Of course, I wish help would come within minutes every time, but with my experience visiting relatives and friends at other SNFs, this is about as good as it gets. We cannot thank all the doctors, nurses, RNAs, CNAs, therapists, activities coordinators, cleaning and kitchen staff, front desk receptionists, and administrative staff enough in helping my mom with her recovery.
