Why that may be is because it does not look like a business. It sits on a road that looks like a driveway to houses, and the building itself looks like it might be a garage. Once in the parking lot you realize that it is indeed a business and that they are open for business. Like most thrift stores there is an area outside for donations, like a drop box, but this one directly goes inside the building. Simple setup on the inside. The place looks rather small, but I will explain that later. The floor where all the items for purchase are located feels cramped, and a bit unorganized. The aisles are rather small and definitely can become congested. Going to put this out there guys, there is not much clothing items here for you. There is a larger ladies section and children section. But don't let that dissuade you from coming here. On top of the clothing you will find household items, toys, games, and small appliances. The list could go on. Now, back to the point where it feels cramped. The building is rather large so you would think that would equate to a bigger inside, well it is a bigger inside because it shares a space. It shares the space with a food pantry that serves the area. What you buy in the store portion helps fund the food pantry and other services they offer. Great place as it also provides cash assistance which can help cover rent, mortgage, or utility bills.

There is a bit of organization to the chaos, but in actuality it is just a bit chaotic altogether. I walked in and wanted to go through the men's section and maybe look to see what else they have to offer in terms of knickknacks, but it was just all piled up on itself that it kind of gave me anxiety to go through the stuff. The employee, maybe volunteer, that was working at the time had a flat affect and made for a bit of a weird interaction. When I walked in I had said hello and attempted some idle chit chat, but it was as if I was bothering her, or maybe she just didn't even care that I was there. This is a quirky store that fits in for the area. I'm trying to think of a place to compare it to in the area but cannot. I was bored one day and pulled up a map and looked for places I have never been before. That just happened to show me Ken's. I actually never heard of it until I saw the map. Ken's sits in a position that overlooks Route 219 and is about a mile or two from the exit. Not much else up herein terms of shopping beside the thrift store. Parking lot is a bit tricky as it is gravel and not marked in anyway. Once inside you are greeted by several different rooms that are filled with stuff. It definitely covers all departments that you would find at a store. Not as large as you would find in a typical store, but definitely covers a fair share. Like many stores like this, some of the items on the shelf could be questionable. Read that as some packages are damaged, maybe some are near their sell by date. One last thing, go by their Facebook page not their webpage.

When this place started to pop up in his conversation I had to ask what it was. The best way I can describe this to you is the following: think Amish store, consignment shop, thrift store. You can't necessarily put this place in any given category because it is not completely one particular business. The items they have on their shelves you can tell come from other stores, especially by the branding. There are some really good deals to be found here, or maybe just find a new item you have never seen or heard of before. It is best to come here when you have time to spare because this is not a spot to dash in and grab something. What I found great was that this is taking up two storefronts in this plaza that were formerly empty. I want to say that one of the spaces used to be the post office. It is a welcomed addition to this plaza as they are kind of going under a revitalization of sorts. Other businesses are moving in as well. The consignment portion is pretty mixed. You really need to have time to go through what is offered. But overall, the store has food items, cleaning supplies, toys, small appliances, outdoor furniture, outdoor items, and so much more. Cash is encouraged here, but they do take cards with a surcharge. You will be surprised by the final price once you do pay.
