So the preliminary discussion was "protect the plastic" with tape and drop cloths. But these people thought they were so professional, that they ignored my warnings and did neither. And they sprayed WD40 on the caulking, getting it on the plastic, without doing any homework on the affect of that chemical. It shouldn't have been used. The bottom line, caulk and paint got all over the roof plastic sheets and the side windows. Completely unprofessional. After they got paid and promised to try to clean it, which I soon learned isn't practical, they dragged their heels in coming back out and ultimately I planned to have to pay $500 to replace all the roof plastic and asked for there help as responsible for the mess. They declined to assist in putting up the new plastic. I'm working on a small claims lawsuit currently for materials and labor to replace what is ruined. (You can't clean plastic, polycarbonate, with chemicals without damaging it. All you can use is soap and water.) An ounce of prevention that any amateur would have done would have prevented the incident.

I have been a Daffan "Member" for somewhere around 5 years (Brief break on it while i had to travel…read morefor work, maybe 6 months). I have used them to replace one of my entire HVAC and was pleased with the installation (That was expensive though as anyone reading this would understand.) The technicians have always been top tier and generally speaking the administrators have also been pretty darn good. I am cancelling my membership, i thought it was a good investment and in their defense it IS in the agreement, but getting a service charge to fix a fuse on an HVAC when a bi-annual service call is still pending is rather ludicrous to me (Maybe not to anyone else), but 37$ a month when only called about 1.5 times per year (Give or take) is just not financially smart, simple math 444$ a year and you only save 50$ on a service call. Lastly (I know this is long), but the real questions arise when you see an un-itemized bill. The total fee to replace a 2 pole 40 amp 24 volt connector was about 298$ (After the very service minded technician managed to talk them into then waiving the service fee of 54$). I own a small business I understand overhead etc, but the entire service took about 45 minutes and the part is listed on amazon and for 13.99$. So the total would have been (Without the service minded tech) Service and installation - 352$ Part 14-20$? lets go high end 50$ = 302$ I am then surmising Daffan charges roughly 300 per hour for calls. If we do take out the 54$ service charge Service and installation 298$ Part (Again high end) 50$ total= 248$ So again I guess its 248$ an hour for Daffan. The invoice I received only says "Unit controller" they do not itemize.

Even better, they got the job done closer to our budget than quotes we received from other companies and we weren't required to hire a separate electrician to wire the HVAC system since these guys are also licensed electricians and included all the electrical as part of the job. They had the entire job completed in less than a week, and it was a big job as the home had never had a central system and all duct work in the attic and in the crawl space had to be installed. Finally, it has been evident Dublin HVAC takes pride in their workmanship and ensuring any issues after install are addressed promptly and completely and that's so valuable as a customer. Everyone we've dealt with including Tammy, Tyler, Joey, Shane and Steven have been great and we appreciate what they've done for us, so thank you all! Today's visit was for the same thing: A pinhole sized leak in the copper pipe. The pipe had to be cut out, and due to tight spaces, PEX was crimped in. I was impressed with Jake's skills. I'm now considering getting the house re-piped, and not have to worry future pin hole leaks. Our water supply seem to cause this problem. I'm not the first house on the block with this problem. $510 in and they couldn't fix a toilet paper clog 45' down a pipe…read more Called them to get a toilet unstuck. The kid that came out was nice, but 2 hours in, he was stumped. Charged me $510 and told me to try somebody else (recommended I call the plumber that originally installed it). That plumber had it pinpointed in minutes and got it solved. When I spoke with the owner of this company, he said his guys are trained to trial and error for 2 hours before actually trying something else, such as a camera. I would have had to pay another service call with minimums just for this guy to come back out and use the tool he should have used out the gate, but clearly, these guys would rather charge the $210-$300+ per hour to eventually solve the problem on my dime rather than use the right tools to begin with. Having run service businesses for over 20 years, that is a very poor business practice. Use the right tools, troubleshoot properly, and charge appropriately. I would have been fine to pay the $510 and then some to get it right. However, I'm not sure that this would have been solved for less than $1,500-$2,000 with these guys. The owner was upset that I suggested they did a poor job and refused to refund anything. He did offer half off one hour of a future service call, and I told him I didn't trust them to do future service, so he basically fired me as a customer and hung up on me. Terribly unprofessional. Never doing business with them again, and you should think twice before trusting them!
