Delicious Italian food in a garden atmosphere, inside with the AC, or outside on the patio. This is one of several restaurants inside a large shopping mall. I had never experienced anything quite like this restaurant. As you go in each customer is provided a menu along with a special card with a chip in it and which looks similar to a credit card. When you decide what you want to order you go to the corresponding portion of the counter/kitchen where there are chefs waiting to prepare your food as you watch (if you want to). You placed the card on a reader and tell them what you want. They make it. Pastas, pizzas, salads, Paninis, and more. The ambience is very refreshing and relaxing as you can watch the trees and plants through the glass. Everything is new and clean. They have regular sized tables and chairs as well as high tables and chairs. Most of the tables are for six or more people. They have unique modern looking mushroom shaped lamps with illuminated stems at the tables. I did not notice any child's menu, however they may have one that was not brought out. I certainly did not need one. Nonetheless with the way the tables were set up it was not the most small-child friendly restaurant I have seen. They do have spaghetti and a few other entrees many children enjoy. I ordered an orange aid (naranjada) to drink, and ordered the lasagna and a small salad. The salad was made within moments while I was still at the counter, and the lasagna was put into the oven and brought out within a few minutes. I enjoyed both immensely. I did not order a dessert because I was too full. They do have a tantalizing looking dessert menu including something called "death by chocolate". This would be a great place for a date or for hanging out with friends. It would also be appropriate for families with elementary school aged children and up. I'm not so sure it would be a wonderful place for toddlers. No clowns, play places or coloring sheets. I really enjoyed my meal at Vapianos Tlalnepantla, and believe you would too if you like Italian food. read more
