I'm writing from a tourist perspective, one who knows nothing about this place :)
This restaurant had a very interesting concept. Those from Montréal might recognize it, it's similar to La Popessa, we have a few of those restaurants, but this one is just a little fancier.
When you arrive, they give you a magnetic card. There are stations around the restaurant, for different kind of food. Pasta, pizza, antipasti, a bar, etc. You go to the station you want, and order what you want, they make it for you right in front of you. Then you put your card on a magnetic reader and it adds whatever you ordered on it. You do this whenever you order something and pay at the end.
We were told they normally give you a pager so you can order, go find a seat and come back when it's ready, but oddly enough it wasn't the case that evening. Maybe because it wasn't too crowded: we only had to wait about 5 minutes to order at our station, and we just waited for her to cook it in front us.
My dad had the spaghetti bolognaise, and he almost rolled himself in it, he liked it very much. I had the risotto with cream and mushroom. Awesomelicious! I'd want all my risottos to taste like this one!
They have a wide selection of alcohol, the beer was quite refreshing, and for dessert we had strawberries with whipped cream, perfect.
The lad who welcomed us recognized our accent and spoke to us on French, which was a nice little surprise. He was very nice and helping, very friendly and ended up with a nice tip :)
I highly recommend, it's was a singular experience. read more
