First, this is the only place to get pipes and pipe tobacco in Birmingham. I don't actually smoke a…read morepipe, but my father did. This is the place to go if you're even considering smoking a pipe. Second, there's none of that "vape" nonsense here. This is an actual tobacco shop. Go to your hipster tattoo parlor for that stuff. Third, these are folks you'd like to hang out with. They are connected directly to the finest tobacco producers in the world. For instance, this spring, one of the employees got to go hang out at a tobacco plantation in Nicaragua and smoke cigars all day for a weekend, all for free. I figure if the cigar plantations want the Briary's business that badly, this is clearly the place to go. Finally, these guys have been in business for as long as I can remember, and I'm 52. Do you remember The Tinder Box at Brookwood Mall in the 80s? That was these guys, until they got tired of paying mall rent. So, as it turns out, you can actually buy the same cigar here for less than you could find it at other places in town, because these guys own their own building and don't have to pay rent. They clearly know their product. I've gotten great advice, as well as some sympathy when a friend was suckered into buying some fake Cuban cigars. So, my advice is to come here, where they are honest and knowledgeable enough to tell you the truth.
