I've had consistently mediocre-to-poor service from VanPrint on Denman. I waited a year before going back again, in case the new shop manager was an improvement, but it seems the company overall isn't delivering good quality. When I asked about how much time my job would take, I received an explanation for why it would be slow. When I noted that my postcards were not cut to the size they were designed for - a standard size listed on the website, I heard an explanation for why they had been done poorly. There was no offer to redo or refund the project until I asked for it, and then I was told I had already been charged a lower amount than the job was worth. I would be incredibly happy to pay the full value of the work I requested in order to have it done well. Isn't that what we expect when we enter into a business transaction? I would also be very happy to have a good printer available in the west end. Anybody want to move in? read more

My first visit was great! I was really pleased with their work. After my second visit I decided it was time to write a review. I found the staff to be knowledgeable in their service and able to suggest different paper stock that stayed withing my budget, accommodating (for my design and layout) and flexible. The turnaround time was as stated. Location is great. Would definitely continue to use them! Also, it's great that they can do large format printing and are able to mount on stretchers. Something that I'd like to take advantage of in the future for some of my artwork and photographs. Thanks guys! read more

I've been into Vanprint twice for the same purpose, but with different outcomes. My need is 50 double-sided copies on green card stock. Visit #1: I went in around 11:45, expecting that there might be a lunch rush as people are stopping here and there. However, there was only one other customer, and I was helped immediately. In and out in 3 minutes. Nice! Visit #2: I went in around 3:30 expecting it to be pretty quiet and fast. Two people working- one of whom was on the phone the entire time. I don't think it was a customer on the phone, could have been a co-worker, but seems like it was a personal call. I got in line behind three people. The staff member who was actually working, was not much of a multi-tasker. He helped each customer in full, before moving to the next in line. So when one person had 300 copies going, he dillydallied over the machine as it went. He was working hard- but I was just impatient, and think it would have been nice to be acknowledged. read more

I've been going to VanPrint for years! The shop is small and used to be located on Denman before moving over to Davie Street. They have a small staff and everytime I go into this store, they are working hard at getting projects done. My first experience with VanPrint was when I needed 400 booklets turned around in 1.5 business days, the owner was worried he wouldn't get it done on time but was able to pull through! He even called to explain the booklet needed an extra page to print properly and went ahead and helped me with that change with my PDF over the phone. It was such a relief. Their prices are always fair (i've compared them with similar print shops in the city like club card or Ultra x-press) and more importantly, I find their customer service pretty fantastic. The owner is very friendly and will take the time to explain their process. Whenever I have needed something in a 3-5 day turn around, VanPrint has always met my time frame and has worked hard at putting together good products. These folks aren't corporate like kinko's but they are professional, produce excellent materials and have a community-type business that is kind of rare these days. Whenever I need to recommend digital print services, I send my friends and colleagues to this shop, specifically to the one on Davie street. read more

I've been to Van print on Davie street a few times since they are the only print shop in this area. This place has a really negative vibe. They never say hello when you enter the store, so you don't feel welcome. When they eventually talk to you, it's with attitude, a lot of stressed and in rush. Numbers of times, when I had time to spare I walked by the store then decided to drive elsewhere in town to get a print job done. I really hope we get a decent print shop in the West End so we don't have to deal with these prima donnas. P.S. they don't print single sheet nor any orders under $20 read more

I regularly come here to get prints done, artwork scanned, artwork framed, etc. Matt is super helpful, knowledgable, and is very good at what he does. He always takes the time to go the extra mile, and exceed my expectations. I've always been more then happy with the results of my prints and framed artwork. I've had my artwork scanned at other places in the past, but it has never compared to the precision and quality at Vanprint. Prices are also comparably cheaper then other printing businesses. Was recommended to go here by a colleague. It seems that the guy running this shop every day is Matt (I'm not sure who the other reveiwers were dealing with). Matt is always helpful with making style/design suggestions, and when I ask for a deadline for a project he sticks to it without fail. He often has so much to do entirely by himself, so I respect the fact that sometimes I have to wait while one or two people are helped at the desk before me. Once it's my turn he is entirely devoted to me until my needs are met. Matt helps me take any project idea and turn it into something that works with a priority on both quality and cost management. From business cards to marketing material to decals to displays to large-format... this guy can do anything. I've gone specifically to this location of VanPrint so many times. I'll definitely keep coming back to see him. read more

I was going to ask them to print my CV with coulour for 150 copies but as soon as I said that I would like to print my CV with colour, the staff immediately interrupted me and said "we only do business printing" with rather rude tone. I was disappointed and ended up going for other printing shop where staff was more attentive and helpful. I previously used Vanprint for my business related materials but I will never ask their help again. read more

Very unimpressed. My order was forgotten the first time I contacted them. Back and forth communication was also poor. When I went to pick up my order they were closed, despite their posted hours (and an email the day before) saying they should be open. Won't be coming here again. read more

I needed a poster printed in a hurry for a conference. Called on Monday morning and emailed my PDF and it was ready by Tuesday afternoon. The service was excellent--the guy working there answered all my questions, understood that I was in a panic, and was overall very pleasant to work with. The poster looked great as well. I contacted this company for our company letter head and sent them all the info. They said they would provide a sample shortly and never did. Despite numerous follow ups I received no response and the whole process was 3 weeks long until finally I gave up on Van print. It's unfortunate as the other reviews are so positive, that I would've loved to have had the same experience.... read more
