We were not planning to go to the beach; we stopped here to do the zip line, and the beach looked welcoming, not overcrowded, and a good place to lie in the sun.
We didn't have any swimsuits, towels, or suntan lotion, but Vanilla Beach has many shops between the main road and the beach, including restaurants, bars, cafes, and a McDonald's.
So we got everything we need on site and use the shop changing rooms. Yes, I paid more here for the things I already had at the resort, but this was a spur-of-the-moment thing, and we didn't want to do a back-and-forth trip.
The water was warm and wonderful, the sand was clean, and the edge of the beach was lined with trees, so you could be in the shade if you wanted to.
