You would think a newer school would be at an advantage but when you have teachers that are unresponsive, uninspiring and checked out there is not much you can do. This was all very apparent for us even at the kindergarten level with our child's teacher (JC). Specials teachers are hit or miss. My child would have nice details to share about their time in STEM, art, PE and library, but then couldn't really share anything of value from music despite my child's love for music outside of school. Office staff are friendly and organized so at least the school has that going for them.

They will constantly send your kids home even though it's the entire class that's acting up. My son has full time aid's with him, & the aids witness the horrors in the classroom everyday. Celia has no backbone in the 3's classroom, she doesn't have any control over her class and as a result you won't be able to work because they will call you to get your kid because they can't handle it. Stephanie up in the front is amazing and I have nothing bad to say about her, but she went on maternity leave recently and as soon as she went on maternity leave, the owner Nihti started targeting my son. I spoke with Nihti in the office which is when she told me kids are a number on a clipboard there. She is completely and totally only in this business for the money. And it shows. Her BEST staff Miss Ashley recently left around the same time Stephanie went on maternity leave. Because of their lack of GOOD staff, they will kick your kids out of their school. They've been open for a year and Nihti told me she's had to let go of multiple families. Tell me you don't care about the kids without telling me you don't care about the kids. They've also don't care about their staff at all. Stay FAR FAR away from this place. They also don't teach the kids ANYTHING. The classrooms are zoo's.

Every teacher is committed to providing exceptional care, protection, and education to their students. The administration is deeply invested in ensuring the welfare of both children and staff. Their curriculum and planning for each age group is great, and helps students at every age learn valuable, practical skills as well as introducing education fundamentals. Throughout my time here, I had many opportunities to leverage my skills and discover new creative outlets within my lessons. They value and appreciate their staff, making sure they are being supported throughout their day. I would highly recommend Celebree School of Exton as a great school to entrust your child's care and education, as well as a wonderful workplace for educators/childcare workers.

***DO NOT SEND YOUR CHILD HERE**** I don't post things like…read morethis lightly, but I feel a responsibility to share our experience in case it helps another child or family. Chesterbrook Academy - Newtown Square has been the worst childcare experience of my 13 years as a mom. In our experience, the environment was cold, harsh, and deeply unsettling. When children are sad or crying, they are placed in a so-called "cuddle corner" and intentionally ignored--no one is allowed to speak to or comfort them until they stop crying. Teachers follow a strict "no response" approach, meaning kids who are screaming, throwing, or clearly distressed are simply ignored. The level of rudeness, judgment, and lack of warmth from staff has honestly left me bewildered. My child came home crying many days, saying the teachers yelled at them--and I personally witnessed teachers yelling at children right in front of me. Leaving your child in someone else's care is already incredibly hard. You expect compassion, patience, and basic emotional safety. That was not our experience here. I can't speak to other Chesterbrook locations, but Chesterbrook Academy in Newtown Square is one I would strongly urge parents to avoid. If sharing this helps even one child have a safer, more loving experience elsewhere, it's worth it

After taking a tour, I knew this was the place for us. Our son needed a place to work on his social and emotional skills. I loved that his teacher Marianne Williams made us feel at ease right away. She asked us what our goals were for our son for that year and I was very honest with her that I wasn't too concerned with the academic part (although they do an AMAZING job with that!) I was more concerned with him trying new things/experiences, coming out of his shell, and being able to make handprint art. He refused to do handprint art for me at home which sounds silly but that was a real goal for us! Mrs. Williams had our son making handprint art within the first month of starting school! I loved that she met each child in her class where they were and worked on their individual goals to help them achieve their best self while also teaching an amazing curriculum. She really helped our son become more confident with himself and try new things. We loved seeing how much he progressed throughout his first year. We requested Mrs. Williams for his second year there because I'm pretty sure our son would have refused to go to school if he didn't have her as his teacher again! We were very lucky that she teaches both a T/TH Preschool class and a M/W/F Pre-Kindergarten class so that he could have her two years in a row. Her Assistant Sue Capaldi goes above and beyond to make the classroom a fun and exciting place to learn. They really make every second they spend with the children count. My son will be going to Transitional Kindergarten at His Kids next year and I'm so thankful we have another year with them because he asked the other day if he could go to His Kids until he was 100 years old. Once you meet the Director Nicole Lewis you'll realize pretty quickly how amazing she is! She has made His Kids her life's work and it shows. She is truly dedicated to this school. Mrs. Lewis greets all of the students by name and even makes it a point to learn all of their siblings names so she can say hello to them too during pick up and drop off. She really makes the preschool feel like a family. She does a lot of little fun things to make the experience magical for your kids like having a special gift on their birthdays and constantly changing the hallway and front window with seasonal/holiday decorations of your child's picture and name which they love finding. All of that takes so much time but you can tell she does it for the joy of the kids. If you are looking for the best preschool in the area then look no further. We have been incredibly blessed to be a part of the His Kids Family and have just loved his teachers and everyone who has looked after our son. We cannot wait for our youngest son to attend next year alongside his big brother!

Not a safe or trustworthy place for your children…read more I am devastated that I did not write this review sooner in hopes it could have helped keep the two babies seriously injured there safe and out of this place. The teacher that is in jail for harming the babies was also my daughter's infant room teacher. Absolutely devastated for the babies and their families. Their lives will never be the same. And livid at the statement issued by the center. It is more of the same from them. My daughter was in the infant room at Oaks and early on we had concerns about the safety, unprofessional processes, and unwillingness of the Director as well as the previous or past owner to have open, honest, productive conversations about issues that came up. The Director literally said to me "Michelle, you just need to stop this and trust us". No, I will not just trust you or anyone with my infant. Our primary issues were: 1. Unsafe entrance in that anyone could walk through the doors by following others through with no checks or protocal for checking 2. No transparency when my daughter moved to the toddler room on who was changing her diapers even though this had been provided in the infant room and this became a battle with the director when it should have been an easy thing 3. Staff that was doing at least double duty as both carers and cleaners 4. A broken fence lock that was never fixed in the play area 5. My daughter always wanted to get the heck of there when I picked her up unlike the daycare that I moved her to where she sometimes doesn't want to leave for a good while after we get there 6. Some staff were very disheveled. I didn't want my daughter to think that was a normal way of being. After many attempts to be collaborative and open with the owners and the director, it was obvious that if a serious problem arose that these are not the people you'd want by your side to work through it. I left before anything serious happened. There is an incident I recall in the infant room where my daughter did have unexplained injuries while in the care of Catalina Baldwin while the other teacher was out on vacation. I thank god that it was not serious, but it could have been. The only explanation I ever got was that there was no incident at school and it probably happened at home or in her car seat. We were lucky.

My child attended Oaks and had the same little girl in the three and fours that would bully her physically, emotionally and verbally. As this is shocking enough at 3/4 years old the staff allowed it. The owner Alice, director Christine and teacher Alayna did not take appropriate action to find a solution to the other child's aggressive daily behavior, toward my child and others. After me telling them numerous times for months and months this is not okay, they still did not take action. I asked to speak with the child's parents and they refused, well never Even cared to get back to me. They had ample time to correct the situation and were well aware of the child's behavior. My last straw was when I picked my daughter up and she had a scratch on her face, lips were scratched up with a huge bubble on them. No one could tell me what happened , the adults at this center asked me to ask my 4 year old what happened. This is the care they provide to young children!! Horrifying to say the least. Alice the owner labeled my daughter sensitive since she would cry at drop off and after pick up in the car. Well if someone was poking at you all day and saying nasty things wouldn't anyone be upset, Especially at four years old. The center also knew my Husband was dying of cancer and he unfortunately has passed. Per a teacher that left they would not console my daughter if she talked about her Father and was upset they would leave her by herself. Another huge wow of failure from the adults. Lastly, the teachers come and go every few weeks. Oaks had the potential to be great but failed miserably. My child was taken out by me because the other child I guess is allowed to run the show and do whatever she pleases to whoever. Isn't that a great lesson to teacher both children I'm this situation . Thankfully my child is thriving at her new school and lis safe and back to herself. Don't be fooled like I was. Oh and good luck getting a conference with your child's teacher after asking for a month it still never happened.

The staff, teachers, and fellow parents were all lovely and created a warm, nurturing environment. We had been disappointed by our experience at another Bright Horizons in the DC area. That location had an excessive churn of staff, shady characters sometimes hanging out outside, and lax reporting of incidents like minor injuries. But I didn't realize how bad it was until we came here. This Concord Plaza facility feels secure--it's tucked away in a quiet part of an office park, and adults must put a code in to enter the building. The teachers are a mix of seasoned pros and newer ones, making it feel like there is a solid pipeline to train and retain talent. There is a big green space at the front where parents and kids often hang out to play and socialize after school, giving it a community vibe. Some logistics: if you're interested in taking a tour or getting on the wait list (a few months, was not unreasonable), contact the main number for the regional office. You may also be able to get info about the Bright Horizons at Nemours (I think longer wait list if you're not staff). This location serves snacks and milk but requires you to pack lunch; honestly for the cost saving, I didn't mind packing lunch. My kids were very prepared for the next steps of their learning journeys after attending this Bright Horizons. I'm especially grateful for the care and communication from the teachers here.

At the time when I attended the school, there was a lot of time where we as students were left unsupervised. This led to a lot of difficult situations, one of which greatly injured me physically. While I was recovering, I was constantly getting calls from the school discouraging me from pursuing legal recourse, indicating that I was not a "true xian" if I sought out legal recompense. Well, my parents were in charge of such decisions at the time. And being devout to the church as they were, no legal recourse was pursued, much to the delight of the school at the time. Back then it was called Greater Philadelphia Junior Academy (GPJA). I attended a "reunion" there in the '10s. The Home and School leader asked me if I would consider sending my children to this school. My response: "Why would I ever do that? What have my children ever done to me?" The H&S leader quietly slunk away (this person was a classmate of my older sibling who attended this school as well). That is honestly how I feel about this school. There was a time when all of us as students were forced to gather in the auditorium/gymnasium for "Monday Morning Singspiration." It was just more indoctrination and trying to suppress independent thought. If you want your children to grow up as healthy, rational, critically thinking individuals, do not send them to this school. But if you're a SDA parent looking to send your kid to a private school in the Philadelphia suburbs, you're likely going to ignore everything in this review. Suit yourself.

I usually dont give reviews; however, I felt compelled to share my experience with HVCA having had…read morethe opportunity to meet and interract with the the new principal that started in August 2019, Mr. Chris Ebenizer. I gave a 4 star raiting because I feel that there is room for improvement; however, this is a nice place for children to be... where they feel safe and empowered! In a short time the new principal has put measures in place to restore/ensure that the school is a place where children respect their elders and each other. He has expressed to us specific academic skills onitiatives and is beief that Education and the love of God are paramount. The teachers (some new) are engaging with the kids at all levels. Soft skills such as listening and courtesy are being instilled... Values such as good manners and team work are being demonstrated on a daily basis as well. My wife and I make it a point to visit and we have observed these things. My son who we just enrolled in 1st grade loves the care and support from his Teacher Mrs. Rodriquez. She emphasizes disipline in education and often 'goes the extra mile' to show them love and encouragement in a Christian way. For example: my son was treated unkindly on the playground by an older child 2 weeks ago. He was nervous about speaking up at the time; but, upon telling my wife and I, we reported the incident on the same day. The principal and respective teachers met in the evening and responded by counseling each child individually the next day and followed up with both and ensured that the older child apologized and they now get along with no additional reported incidents. So, I do not know what caused people to say bad things about HVCA last year specifically; but, this experience is my testimony to the great environment for learning that is being cultivated currently... We did not receive this level of expected responsiveness with my son's development at public school where he was last year. Hence we looked for a nurturing environment and feel we have found it. This team that is managing the school is making a huge dufference. From my perspective, they have proven to be a loving, knowledgable and capable staff under Mr Ebenizer. I personally expect great things to develop from this environment that he is creating! Thank you HVCA team for all you do for these wonderful children!
