These may be good doctors, but they did a procedure on me that was a complete waste of time and…read morethey had to know it. It cost my insurance thousands and I had to pay $500 out of pocket. This was a test procedure where they injected material into the nerves around my knees to see if a nerve ablation would be effective on my arthritis. They asked me my pain level when I arrived, and I told them I wasn't in any pain at that time. Then they kind of talked me up to level 1 or 2. (I hadn't been doing the things that hurt my knees due to being on vacation, and had spent the day before traveling on an airline.) If this procedure numbed the pain for a day they could tell that the permanent ablation would be effective, but since I wasn't in any pain at the time, the procedure would prove nothing and in fact was painful and induced discomfort due to pressure from all the fluid they injected. If I'd have known this at the time I wouldn't have let them do the injections, but they are the doctors, not me. They knew the "test" procedure wasn't going to show anything; That's why they talked my up on my pain level, but they did it anyway. ($$$$$) This not only cost me and my insurance money, but was painful and put me at risk of infection or complications for zero benefit to me. I figured this out when I read literature about the procedure after the fact. I called and I complained to one of the PAs, but nothing was ever done. For what it's worth, the offices appeared modern and clean and the staff was friendly.

It's ironic that Dr. Wallace acted so compassionate & fully understood the importance of treating people like the unique individuals they are and using the most effective pain relief solutions for each patient and not forcing them into more invasive, dangerous, ineffective and often more pain inducing treatments like the spinal steroid injections. If that works for some people, then good for them, but I know many who are like me & get zero pain relief from them & actually get more pain because of them & not everyone is wealthy enough to afford those expensive injections to begin with. I've been a pain patient for 24 years & I've seen it all in that time. When my first pain doctor left her clinic to work for the VA hospital, she recommended Dr. Wallace & I was pleasantly surprised that he looked at my medical history & immediately told me that I was under-treates for the kind of incurable & very painful conditions I endure. I had been on the same medication at the same dosage for over 15 years, so he suggested that we try an extended release opiate in combination with a slightly higher dose of the pain medicine I had already been on for 15 years. This combination literally changed my life & I could finally function at a decent level & not be in tears every night. I could do things with my child that I never could before & leave my house more & be more social again after being forced to be a recluse from badly treated pain. I had hope for the 1st time in my adult life. That only lasted 2 years though because he dumped all of his patients with zero warning so he could open this injection mill & make loads more money through these endless expensive injections that everyone should throughly research because there's a reason why many of these injections into the spine have been banned in other nations & are not FDA approved for treating pain. They can cause longterm medical problems on top of whatever you already suffer from & these doctors will never fully inform you about that or they'll minimize the risks so they can profit from it. It's funny that the doctor that acted so shocked by how little pain medicine I was being treated with by my previous doctor and who fully understood that these injections don't work for everyone is not pushing these injections like they're a miracle cure & avoiding the truly fully disabled patients who suffer from decades of pain from multiple documented conditions because those are the patients who actually need genuine pain management with medication that definitely works for most people. I've had good and bad doctors, but I've never been more disappointed in a doctor that Dr. Wallace because I really trusted him & felt he cared about his patients as more than just numbers & a means to get wealthy, but abruptly abandoning ALL of your very medically fragile patients when you had secretly been planning to do that for over a year is the most back handed & shameful thing a doctor can do. Most of his patients would've followed him to his new practice, though, IF he'd had the integrity & basic empathy to continue their pain management regime that was already working very well for them; however, his staff made it absolutely clear that he'd not be treating those who require pain medicine, but he'd gladly do injections. That left his most vulnerable patients to the mercy of the doctors who were still left at Pain Management of Tulsa & I was sadly asigned Dr. White with no recourse to switch to a different doctor there if I didn't like her. She was immediately cold, rigid, unwilling to listen, much less care. She was so terrible that she cut my medicine all at once by 2/3rds right after I had major surgery & had been diagnosed with cancer. She gave no explanation other than that she was under pressure to reduce how much medicine she prescribes & it had nothing to do with my best interests, health, history or that I've always been perfectly complient with all the rules regarding opiates. This is how you get rewarded for being a responsible pain patient & they do it at the most cruel time without a second thought which is inhumane & medically negligent to not even slowly taper a longterm pain patient, but do it all at once. Cruel, unprofessional & unethical.

Dr. Salguero, from the very first time I saw him, listens to me and doesn't have a predetermined diagnosis. I have to take all my pain medicine with me to each visit for them to count. It's the law and they follow it. It's a hassle for those that need the pain medication. So if you're looking for that doctor that will let you abuse the system go somewhere else. But if you want to go to a doctor who listens and wants to help you get your pain under control go see Dr. Salguero. Pain medicine is only part of his practice. He also performs procedures from steroid injections to nerve blocks.

Retirement allowed me to stop pain management, but he's the only one I would recommend my loved ones to. Pain Management works. And it can end you, if you do not have someone that has their act together, focused, engaged and getting it just right.
