Vanessa & Johnny (and company) were amazing to work with. :) My (now) husband and I are no longer in South FL, but we got married in early 2023 in Ft. Lauderdale -- Plantation! So you can imagine that with being out-of-state, it was sometimes a pain when it came to vendor hunting. Here is how V&J went above and beyond for us: + Before the day of our wedding, they went and scoped out our airbnb's location (it was near where they lived) for potential first-look locations outside the house + Were SO down-to-earth and easy to talk to! Very approachable and friendly :) + Traveled to 2 locations: airbnb (getting-ready site) and our ceremony/reception venue + I don't think I saw them eat a single thing the entire time -- they starved right along with us, the bride and groom - LOL + We had contracted them from 2-9p, and when we asked if we could extend an addtl hour for more photos, they had one of their photographers stay back to keep up with the party :D The teasers/photos have been gorgeous, and all I'm waiting for now are the last set of videos. :) This was their timeline for those interested (for our photos/videos). I'm sure your mileage may vary depending on how busy they are! + Highlight photos: 45ish days + Teaser video: 45-60 days + All photos: 60-75 days + Highlight videos (speeches, etc): 12-16 weeks We unfortunately did not get to do an engagement shoot with them or post-wedding shoot since we're now based out of TX. I did a simple wedding at a park but wanted to have pics to remember the occasion and so glad I did. Worth every penny!!! I only had an hour to work with and Vanessa was able to take incredible pics of the entire family and some romantic shots alone. The final product was AMAZING! I have never received so many compliments on my family photos, but we he did have some bumps along the way. Her Facebook page says "Open always", yet I did not receive responses in a timely manner. She emailed me proofs on a Friday at 7:30pm. Yet, when I emailed her back, she told me she didn't work on the weekends. In order to protect her work, she used watermarks. This is understandable, however, the placement of these water marks made it rather difficult for me to judge the photos. I did ask her to lighten them and she obliged. Regardless, I still had difficulty determining if I liked a smile or the direction in which the eyes were looking. I would suggest placing these in a spot that does not obstruct the view of the faces. I would have hoped for a bit more guidance and instruction when posing. I feel like this resulted in a couple awkward photos, where I wasn't sure where to place my arm or how to bend my leg. Although most of her images were fantastic, I would have liked to make some minor changes on other photos. When I asked for certain touches to be made, she suggested I pay for a retouching company as she did not feel this was in her realm of ability. I guess I appreciated her honesty, but it limited some of my choices. We also had some scheduling issues. On the day of the shoot, she text me an hour prior to our appointment asking me if I could meet up 15-30 minutes earlier. I told her this shoot was scheduled around a nap and that it would be difficult. I needed my child to take a nap, so she would be picture-ready. When she arrived, 15 minutes earlier to our scheduled shoot, she text me asking me to hurry up since it was about to rain. I mentioned to her that if it rained we would not get our full shoot time and thus it would be best to change location or reschedule. When, I inquired about finding another nearby location due to the weather, she said that the drive time would come out of our shoot time, as though I had control over the weather. This stress and negativity was felt and definitely affected the mood of our pictures. Yes, we liked a majority of our photos, but I feel like we could have had more to choose from. Where some reviews say that she was able to get multiple children to at least look at the camera, I found that I wasn't "in love" with any of our group family photos because there was always that one person who wasn't looking or smiling. Perhaps, we were all having an off day. No one will ever know. Again, the artistic aspect of her photos is well worth it! read more

Moondance photography strikes the perfect balance between professionalism, artistry, and laid-back warmth and friendliness. Vanessa put my family at ease as she took our portraits on the beach. She was more than happy to work with my dog and rambunctious toddler (who says never work with kids or animals?). She got down into the sand and water to get the perfect shots. She made sure we were at ease and were having fun and that is why we ended up with such stellar photos afterwards. Her turnaround time was super fast and her training and years of experience showed in the touching up she did. Each photo was perfect and natural looking (but she can do things like remove blemishes or even stuff in the background!) She is a true artist and you can see that she loves her work. I ended up printing some in large format for the wall, a photo book and using others for our Christmas card and others for the web. I will definitely be hiring her again for annual portraits and for special events and recommend her to everyone. read more

My new little family and I have had the honor and pleasure to be photographed my Moondance Photography. Vanessa is the very best to work with. She has captured beautiful memories of my ever growing family as we celebrated our daughter's 1st birthday as well as family portraits. The quality of her work is pristine. We are in complete awe every time we look at the photographs she has taken of us. Her work has been seen by our family in our native home of Nigeria and they were completely blown away with the details that she managed to bring out in each picture.
