Sent out a quote to all pawnshops. They sent one back saying that they would take the thing that I was trying to get quoted. Legitimately just called. Talk to a woman who was abrasive at best. She didn't want to take the item. So we asked to talk to somebody in a managerial role. They spent time talking with us, trying to figure out the items price point and then they lowballed us. They blamed AI for their response and then told us they hated AI. I'm sorry, what?! You're using AI to run your business and you hate AI then maybe don't use AI and take from our clean drinking water which we will run out of eventually because of AI. I don't know once I hear a business is using AI. I automatically think that that business does not know what they're doing. Because they're using a robot instead of doing their own business. Sounds like corner cutting and who wants to do business with somebody who corner cuts. Not me. Don't get me wrong. The old guy sounded nice, but just because you're nice. He repaired a gold necklace with nickel weld. A bracelet that was supposed to just resize, he put it back together with the face and back flipped and didn't even weld it back. I was very surprised by The Pawnbroker in Panorama City and their service. There is usually a gentleman who sits just inside the door and greets you when you come in and a representative is always ready to assist you. I especially want to thank Mauricio who went the extra mile for me this month. I had a family crisis and completely forgot to come in on my due date and with everythong going on I didnt see the past due notice they sent me. Mauricio tried calling me at the phone number on file but it is no longer active. After reviewing my account he put my item on hold to give me a little more time before my property was forfeited. When I arrived (very past due) Maurico immediately updated the phone number they had for me and he was actually relieved that my property was safe.
