I decided to give her a call and we set up an appointment, lucky for me that she happened to be in the office because she is usually in court representing her clients. I just read some reviews and I'm not sure why the one negative review because she treated me well. Chi is good at what she does and that is she represented me as a client in court, I didn't even have to be there. While speaking with her on the phone, I decided to retain her as an attorney on my case as she sounded professional and knowledgeable. I brought everything that she asked, looked them over and she told me everything up front---the costs and what to expect of the outcome. She is prompt and courteous and she did everything that she said that she would do. She always replied to my phone calls and text---depending on which we had agreed to and set up. She would let me know ahead of time if there were changes or anything else that would be involved. With Chi, everything was up front. She got my ticket dismissed and also refunded me like 90% of the fees that were refundable ( I think that it had something to do with administrative cost. I feel that Chi is an excellent attorney and with her you will know what to expect and what to expect of her. She is honest and did me a great service. And to the one star, no one asked me to write this and it isn't a fake.

I am thoroughly disgusted with Attorney Chi Nguyen's lack of professionalism and communication…read more I found her through Yelp in July 2025 with glowing reviews. After a July 4th consultation, I hired her to handle my parenting plan matter (not my protection order, though she gave advice on that too). What followed was one of the worst professional experiences I've ever had. Here are the main issues: Never in court - She never once appeared in person, only via Zoom. We paid her the same as anyone else, yet she didn't show up physically. Unprofessional appearance - On Zoom, she dressed in casual T-shirts, not courtroom-appropriate attire. Paralegal overseas - The paralegal assigned to our case (Bernard) was working permanently out of the country. This made direct communication about our case nearly impossible. Bad legal advice & dishonesty - She advised my child to drop a protection order to "help" with a 50/50 parenting plan, then denied ever giving that advice in court. This damaged our case. Unprepared in court - Judges were visibly frustrated with her lack of preparation and awareness of required next steps. Communication failures - She ignored the client portal (where we receive notifications) and instead sent critical updates by regular email, which caused us to miss deadlines and hearings. Documents were submitted incorrectly and late, resulting in continuances, sanctions, and extra costs we had to pay ($700). Recent failure - For a GAL hearing, financial documents we sent in late August were submitted at the last minute. She failed to consult us on which GAL we preferred, leaving us blindsided in court. We left court feeling defeated every single time. Yesterday's hearing was the final straw--we fired her immediately. Hiring an attorney is stressful enough; you need someone professional, prepared, and communicative. Chi Nguyen was none of these. Do not hire her. I only gave 1 star because Yelp wouldn't let me submit my review without doing it.

Beverly did not once reply to an email, her assistants, Ann and Kiss'Shonna seemed to play hot potato with my case, had little knowledge concerning a divorce that involved children and a business, they do not prioritize customer satisfaction or peace of mind. My experience with this firm has left me feeling taken advantage of, ashamed as a father, and failed husband, and now due to the poor level of representation I chose, will end up seeing my son even less and paying off debt for years to come. The billing department does not reply to emails either. Dont bother trying to call anyone once you are a client, as that is near impossible to get ahold of someone without 10 minutes of hold music, and then a message saying to leave your name and someone will get back to you, if not call back in 10 minutes, over and over. Be careful you who trust in helping you with your case, do several consults with different firms/lawyers before you make a choice.

Roger Schweinler and his paralegals were very considerate of my limited funds and did not suggest frivolous things to run up my bill like the attorney I had before did. Communication was almost exclusively through his very competent paralegals which kept attorney fees low, and he did his job so I didn't have to worry. I ran out of money with my first attorney, so I thought I would finish out the divorce on my own. That was until my ex filed a motion to modify temporary child and spousal support orders. I was able to gather enough money to hire Roger Schweinler who went to that hearing and won it for me so everything stayed the same and my ex had to pay attorney fees for that hearing! As time went on, my ex came around and we were able to come to an agreement on final orders without having it go to trial or even mediation! I have previously had poor experiences with family law lawyers that led me to be wary of them moving forward. Now, years later, I found I needed legal help for a contentious parenting plan modification. Ms. Miller was recommended to me by someone else and I approached with caution. However, she immediately allayed my fears with extraordinary professionalism. She is blunt in the best way possible - cutting to the immediate issue with an immense amount of family law expertise to back her up. When I arrived for my initial consultation, she came prepared by having already read through the basics of my case online. She listened intently and asked specific questions and was honest with her opinions. While she takes a measured personal approach, she is fierce in the defense of her clients once a course of action has been plotted. She doesn't resort to cheap tactics or emotional fluff because she doesn't need to; she has the skills and knowledge necessary to achieve her goals and doesn't want to waste her client's precious time or the court's time. Ms. Miller and Ms. Tremblay are responsive and I've never felt ignored by either of them. She is personable and attentive. My case is not yet completely resolved but, whichever way it goes, I already know that I made the best choice for legal representation possible.
