I am actually voting ZERO but am forced to give all Value Village stores a ONE. I was at the Caplan Barrie ON location recently. The prices are outrageous, to say the least. Most of the items are of very low value and very high unfair price. Some of their items are dollar store items that you can buy at the dollar stores for LESS or equal value but at least, at the dollar store the item is NEW. For clothes...nope. For household, maybe once in a blue moon but I don't shop there anymore. The CEO's are rich off peoples' donations / selling at a ridiculous profit, and that don't sit well with me. read more

I would give them a 1 star review. Not just this location but all of VV locations. It is disgusting how over priced they are. They even sell used candles with no wax inbthem for $4. Like are you kidding me!!? She get your shit for free!!!!!!! STOP taling advantage of people. These are hard times and we need VV to be a thrift store where people can afford shit. You guys need to lower your prices. Maybe an 80 percent should be good. read more

Very hard to find a bargain or unique item in the two Barrie stores. The items they get from free donations have doubled in price in the past year. Good items rarely make it to the floor, either employees price them and grab them, or they are friendly with the pickers, so gone to on-line stores. I have been going for many years, and I have watch the transformation....if it's broken or a piece missing...to bad, your problem.... read more

Way over priced and anything brand name you pay same price to go buynew. That is wrong long sleeved shirts should all be same price but because it is lulu lemon you pay twice as much. So wrong it's all donated free. I refuse to shop there any.ore. read more

I have over the years shopped at Value Village. Since Covid when the dressing rooms were closed I have not purchased as much as I used to. The return policy is terrible. Having to find something else to purchase of equal or more value within 14 days is not very helpful. If the customer was given a store credit just like Taliz does he or she would be more likely return to shop further. Without dressing rooms Value Village is asking their valued customer to take items home to try-on and then if not suitable get back in their car or bus (which cost them money) to exchange for something else that they might not even want but have to choose because of this policy. I guess the customer is not that important to Value Village. read more

This place is awesome, I don't understand how people complain !! Their prices are relatively good, for a thrift shop I have to say that their prices are fairly okay. Times have changed and chances to find something for 3 dollars are highly lower than before. Their cast diversity of items and their affordability is quite acceptable. I have had good experiences going here and I can't say anything bad about the place. Their prices are fair I have to admit,I found a really nice coat for 18 bucks that surely didn't cost that. Expecting to find a coat under 10 or a pair of jeans for less than 7 bucks is delusional. Love the place! read more

Great place to find my exact size for trousers, pants, shirts and jackets. Excellent prices on clothing. Cheers

Just a fast post. I do enjoy VV I have gotten some lovely items.... However I must say!! I'm extremely disappointed in their $$$$$ seeing thay are given the items for free.. & they do not kee the store clean at all.. I do believe they should tone it down on the $$$ of the items... read more

Way over priced!! Used, worn out childrens shirts..$6 to $7!! Ridiculous! Spent about an hour an and half looking for decently priced items, and I can tell you, we didnt get much! Even looking at the jewellery items. Used, dollar store items, I clearly recognized, priced 3 times more than original! Left, and went to the Salvation Army. There..we found value for our dollar! And prices that were reasonable! Prices at value village, for used..comparable to new, at walmart! Good grief..this place is ridiculous. Burnt used candles..3, 4 bucks. Come on now! read more

How does a thrift store justify these prices? It's ridiculous! I might as well go to a regular retail store or department, the prices aren't that much different. It's sad for people that can't afford much. I used to like value village but I never shop there anymore. read more

It very sad the prices they come up with, people with low income can't afford to pay full price in regular stores. I went there the other day a basket that costs $4 at dollarama new was priced at $4.99 dusty and used you should be ashamed trying to take advantage of people. read more

I usually have a great time shopping here and regularly buy clothes and books from here but after my experience today I'm starting to rethink where I will do my thrift shopping. These are the 3 main issues I had today. 1) The clothing was not sorted well. I realize this could be due to people putting stuff down in the wrong section but a lot of it was also mislabeled by the store. 2) While using a change room an employee knocked on the door than opened it without waiting for a response which left me somewhat exposed while she just kept telling me that clearly my door wasn't locked etc. I actually had to pull the door shut very forcefully just so she would let go and stop talking to me. 3) There was a long line because the only cashier appeared to be in training so once they opened another cash they needed a price check done. This resulted in them paging a woman named Bronny who took her time walking to the isle the item was in and walking back. In total it probably took her around 10 minutes to do this while the line is just getting longer. Once she got back to the front she decided it was a good idea to comment on how think the newspaper the cashier was wrapping stuff in was and mention that she broke a nail while searching for the price. I don't know how you break a nail walking especially when you're walking so slowly you could easily avoid anything you could hit your hand off. After all of this she walked around the cash registers for a bit then back to wherever she came from instead of opening another cash. read more
