I arrived at 10:45 a.m. for my 11:00 a.m. appointment. I scheduled this appointment three months prior to the actual date of the appointment and I reconfirmed the appointment on June 9th on the Premiere Healthcare automated e-mail I received. When I arrived at Dr Shadle's office, the waiting room staff was downright rude to me. I asked where Dr. Shadle, was since I fasted for over 14 hours for this appointment. The response I received regarding his whereabouts was "He had stuff to do" To Dr Shadle's waiting room staff it was no big deal that I fasted for 14 hours prior to my appointment, they didn't even try to get me to someone that could draw my blood. Dr Shadle's staff did try to reschedule for two weeks later on June 25th, but I indicated that I would be on vacation. This for an appointment I already scheduled three months prior to this date. The next available appointment according to their staff was six weeks out. I indicated to Dr Shadle's staff that "I was firing Dr Shadle as my physician". I require a Doctor that actually takes his patients health seriously, not a doctor that "has other stuff to do". I again asked for a real reason, Dr. Shadle, wasn't in the office (I had just driven 45 minutes in traffic to his office). His staff reiterated that "He had stuff to do" . The Premier Healthcare Staff further berated me for not having a cell phone (I do have a cell phone, however, I have provided my Work and Home Phone numbers, I would hope he would make a vigilant effort to contact me since they are canceling an appointment. Contact me on my work number during work hours and home phone during before 8 a.m. and after 5 p.m. hours). I am vigilant about taking the required medication and always following my doctor's guidelines regarding medication and making sure I attend all doctor's appointments as scheduled. I pay good money for good health insurance so that I have health insurance coverage with qualified…read morein network providers and high-quality in-network facilities. My primary neurologist referred me to this practice for a steroid injection eligible for coverage at 100% since I've satisfied my copayments, deductible and out-of-pocket limits. They knew who my insurance was with. I made clear I wanted only in network providers. I made the appointment, negotiated the challenging login for their required preappointment paperwork. At the time, I thought it odd that the practice didn't ask as comprehensive questions as doctors normally do about insurance and prior medical history. Since this is a referral from my neurologist, I assumed they had that information from my transferred records. When I checked in, this expectation was reinforced by the receptionist telling me she did not need a copy of my neurological testing desk because they already had a copy in the record. It was not until after I met with the doctor, explain the procedure to me, and then talk to the receptionist out in the reception area about the scheduling of the procedure that I learned that they expected me to pay $450 for an anesthesiologist because they "only use ours." Why would any practice think a rational patient with any judgment would use an out of network anesthesiologist or anyone else when they've satisfied their copayments and deductibles and if the procedure is appropriate and the doctor qualified, the insurance will pay 100% of the cost of the recommended procedure? Why would any doctor think it's in the best interest of the patient to recommend this? The answer is it isn't in the patient's best interest. Typically when you use these type of anesthesiology arrangements it's because the physician has some sort of financial interest or special relationship with the facility that makes it more profitable for the physician to perform there at the greater expense to the patient. Also, in my experience, it's more typical that you will get a lesser qualified, cRNA or anesthesiologist when the anesthesia is provided out of network. I've contacted my referring neurologist to tell him how unhappy I am with the referral to a provider they should know is not using in network, leading facilities. Also seeking a second opinion of the original recommendation because the lack of judgment, and sending me to a facility of this type reflects that there may be a reason to question the referral itself.

Dr Perisol does the most phenomenal back adjustments. I walk out of her office always feeling SO MUCH BETTER. In addition to adjusting my back, she is an excellent diagnostician. I'm a software engineer and as such hate it when a doctor treats a symptom and not the cause. Of course, determining the cause of back or hip pain can be extremely difficult. Dr. Perisol works to perform procedures that provide a differential study to determine the causality of your pain. She has a great educator and partner in my medical care. In her role, she also helps direct Dr. Lewis's pain procedures to ensure they are as successful as possible. Within the last year, Dr Lewis has implemented a small surgical center inside his office. Prior to this, I had to go to a surgical center for shots in my back. It is so much more convenient to be able to perform these in office. The cost is lower as well. Having said that... The office is a bit cramped and it seems less sterile than a hospital. However, I believe that I am perfectly safe. I've never had issues post procedures. The anesthesiologist(i wish i could remember her name) is impeccably professional. The nurses are very communicative and competent as well. I can see another patient wrote a terrible comment here about her IV. I always ask if the nurse can put the IV in my favorite place (crook of the arm). If the procedure allows, they always follow my request. There has been 1 time when the nurse missed the vein and she was mortified and apologized profusely. There was very little pain. I very rarely see Dr Lewis because I'm always asleep when he comes into the surgery room. But I will say that if he is anything like his sons, Sam and Caleb, who work in the office in different roles, he is an amazing person and very professional. I can say, I have always had excellent results from the pain shots he has given me. NEVER any complications. Bottom line... I LOVE this pain management team!!
