Alaska Water Conditioning came out, did water testing, went over the results in detail, and made a recommendation on what type of system we needed. He recommended a salt water softener, and told us that we did not need to spend the money on an additional filter system. Scheduled quickly and had the water softener installed. (Four stars only because I had to remind the installer to clean up the sawdust from drilling. Reminding them to clean up is pretty standard for most contractors out here, though.) We love the system! No more spots on everything, and my hair is much happier with the softer water.
