Thank goodness for the "new" Au Gres IGA…read more I was heartbroken when the old IGA closed several years ago. But now a new owner has brought it back to life! Remodeled, and right sized for the community; I am hopeful that we can keep it going this time around. The new deli is amazing, with great food at great prices! Selection throughout the store is decent, but not excessive. If you need it, they will most likely have it. Yes, the prices are a little higher than 20 miles North at the Tawas Wal-Mart. But, if you want a local store to be there for you, then you have to be there for it on a regular basis. So we tend to drive up once or twice a month to do a big buy at Wal Mart; and then go about every other day to the Au Gres IGA for everything we need on a daily basis. I love my local IGA.

I have stopped at this store/deli a number of times over the last few years to buy a sub sandwich…read more The Italian sub is my favorite and it always taste terrific, except for earlier today, July 6, 2023. We bought a 12 inch Italian sub to split, and this one was not very good compared to others we have had there. The sandwich is on a white bread roll that is so big and thick It dwarfs the sandwich meats that are placed on the bread. It cost over $12 for a 12 inch sub, very disappointed and we only ate a bit of it. Probably won't go back to buy any more subs at the spot.
