I have unfortunately had a lot of medical care at many specialists over the years, and this is the most disorganized doctor's office I have ever been to in my life. They straight up forgot to send in a prescription and then were not very communicative over the phone and their online portal, so it took many days to sort out. It took a while to convince them I really had been promised a prescription and I shouldn't have to pay for another appointment, and I felt like I was being gaslit the whole time. I also discovered in the process that the information written in my chart was wrong. I shudder to think what other balls are being dropped behind the scenes. I guess I should feel lucky the prescription wasn't an emergency! Do not go here, and if for some reason you have to, document everything yourself and double check everything they give you for your own safety. read more

For years, I've been coming to this medical office off and on. Dr. Alamir has been great in identifying thyroid nodules and taking care to biopsy to confirm it is benign. Since the biopsy, we have been monitoring it with ultrasound and glad he has been proactive in ensuring we keep an eye on it. Even if I forgot to schedule follow ups - whoops! Pro Tip: book out the follow up appointment so you don't forget! As for the office experience, the front staff is always friendly and even with a wait, it's an overall pleasant experience. 1. I called on Tuesday asking for medication refills. Was told MA would call it in. It never happened. 2. I had an appointment scheduled with Dr. BRARD on Friday at 10 AM. so thought I would just ask again for refil at the appointment. But I arrived to find him running 45 plus behind. So I asked to reschedule as a telehealth appointment and to speak to the MA about my refill. No one could find her and I waited 30 minutes. Finally front desk girl said she would have her call me SAME DAY to schedule and discuss the refill again. NEVER GOT A CALL BACK! NOW it's a holiday weekend and I'm out of medication until Tuesday! And I will have to HOPE someone gets back to me on Tuesday for it. I have zero confidence that it will happen. So disappointed read more

Office experience: I set an appt for 10am. I was there at 952 am. I waited until 1130 and still not seen. Went to the front desk and cancelled my 10am appt and requested a refund for my copay. I had an appt scheduled at the Gilbert office to see Dr. Abdul Alamir who was recommended to me by the GM at my work because he saw him and was happy with how he handled his issues. They were able to get me in sooner at the Mesa office so I took that appt. I had all of my bloodwork with me, filled out the paperwork online they requested as well which had all of my medical history and familial medical history. After waiting for over an hour, Dr. Alamir spent 10 minutes with me. After saying my previous labs were normal and feeling my thyroid, he ordered more blood work and said I should get into to see a neurologist. I mentioned some of my family history of autoimmune diseases and he was surprised to hear it so I knew he never even looked at my records because it was all in there. I know my labs are "normal" but I keep getting brushed off and told I'm fine when I know something is going on hence why I went with a doctor that was recommended to me. I didn't complain about waiting over an hour before he saw me but I could tell he was rushed. There were people threatening to leave that had been in the waiting room for I don't know how long. My insurance sucks and I know I'll have to shell out another few hundred dollars for lab work but after how my first appt went, I feel like I would be wasting money continuing. I'm very disappointed. I guess I'm going to have to keep looking for a doctor that will take the time and actually listen to me. The fact that my mother and 3 of my siblings have an autoimmune disease I thought for sure I would've gotten more than 10 minutes of the doctors time. read more

Want to be shamed, treated like an idiot and sit in the presence of someone who thinks they are god, knowing your future, this is your place. if not Go ANYWHERE else! I am new to the area and looking for endocrinologist to monitor blood work after surviving thyroid cancer 5 years ago, i simply needed someone to monitor my blood work and medication. I filled out all the new patient info, showing my cardiac history also. Prior to my early arrival, they had my insurance forms, intake forms, ID and payment, all in the portal. After a 10 minute wait at the desk to check, one of the three patients in line (the older man in front of me could no longer stand and asked how much longer, taking a seat- the young woman at front desk began yelling at him about 'not tolerating his attitude'. I saw no attitude, but stayed out of it. Next another front desk person came out to lecture this man stating loudly she was going to 'make the doctor aware of the patients attitude' ) I finally saw Dr Shadmany 35 minutes after my confirmed appointment time. I had seen my cardiologist the day before and needed to update the medication list with him. When Dr Shadmany learned that my renowned Cardiologist had taken me off a heart medication deemed no longer necessary the day before he said, "You are going to have a stroke, Do you even know what a stroke is?! You will be paralyzed and unable to speak" He spoke in a harsh and condescending tone, treating me like an idiot, and acting as though he alone could foresee my future. My true regret is that I was so shocked that I didn't stand up and walk out. read more

Dr. Brard is possibly to most inconsiderate medical practitioner I have run into, and that is saying something. Consistently over an hours late to confirmed appointments with no warning given to patients who are travelling or on a tight schedule so they are just expected to wait in the waiting room for an hour and a half. And if you request a tele-health appointment after having to reschedule to to Dr. Brard's schedule mismanagement, he simply no call/ no shows and doesn't message you or let you know. Just expects you to reschedule. Incredibly difficult to talk to, and seems very hesitant to discuss any kinds of treatment outside of the absolute most accepted norm. It was a painful experience trying to work with him, and at one point Dr. Brard actually told me to "Go to my competition if you don't like it" so unprofessional and shocking coming from an MD. read more

Dr Shadmany and all of the staff here are just phenomenal! The check in is very quick and the front desk staff all are always smiling, very welcoming. The medical assistants are so helpful, compassionate and really seem to be happy to be there. Dr Shadmany is very informative, he cares about his patients and his staff too. Everyone there is always smiling, you can tell they like where they work and they like the patients. I recommend this office to everyone. read more

Avoid DR SHAHZAD SHADMANY as much as possible. I called them and scheduled a check because I was feeling sick, and I have some symptoms of Hypothyroidism, so I want to get a checkup. I was scheduled for January, and to prepare for this, I knew beforehand they would ask to do blood work or whatever, so I was fasting already. I arrived at 11:00 am-ish and did talk to the nurse regarding health situations, etc. Then she asked me to wait for the doctor, and it's another 30-minute wait time. Dr SHADMANY finally came, and I was already sick and hungry very uncomfortable. All I want is to have things get done and quickly get lunch. And all he said is Come back tomorrow for blood work. I was already fasting, why couldn't I do it today? He's saying this is not going to be accurate. I told him multiple times I have been fasting today, and all he said was, "I am the professional, you have to listen to me". He insisted I come again tomorrow for a blood test, so I did. I came again and did the blood work, waited for 4 weeks for the results to come back. And we scheduled again, by that time, I'm already feeling better, and they are saying we need another blood work? By the way, the doctor was not here as well; only the nurse was reviewing. I decided to just head out. This is such a waste of time. They billed me for both visits, they'll keep asking you to visit because they'll get billed for that. And both visits cost me around 250, with nothing treated. It's such a waste of time, waste of money, waste of energy, and you'll feel miserable Avoid as much as possible, the 5-star reviews seem fake. read more

From the very first moment I called this Endocrinologist as a new patient, I was very impressed. Ruth answered my initial call, she was engaging, knowledgeable and willing to help me. Upon setting the appointment she emailed all the necessary paperwork prior to my appointment and what a time saver that was! Today, was my appointment and Norma at the front desk was incredible and took time to make sure my documents were correct and signed. After a short wait time I was brought back and Pilar took my vitals. He was efficient and had an affable demeanor. Again, after a short wait, Dr. Shadmany came in, and although this was my initial visit I felt heard, as we discussed my issues regarding my diabetes and a plan of action was agreed upon. By far the worst experience that I have had at a doctor's office in my life. Total waste of time and money. Neither the nurse practitioner, nor Dr. Brard, understand Hashimoto's at all. They did not even look at T3 uptake or antibody levels and didn't consider temperature or pulse rate throughout the day. Completely incompetent!! They added things to my summary report to my primary care physician that were never discussed and they also had incorrect data listed. read more

Ive been going to Valley Endocrine for several years and I have been satisfied until recently.. they used to have quick turn around times for prescription refills, usually 1-2 days, however, for the past few months, I've been having issues getting my refills in a timely manner (I'm not sure if it was due to the issues with their phone system or the new assistant they hired ) My pharmacy has had to submit several request and I have also had to place several calls to my doctors assistant, leaving several messages without any response. There have been a few times where I have come close to completely running out of my diabetic medications. they have a three day notice refill policy and I usually give them at least a 2 week notice when I need to refill my meds. read more

I have been seeing Dr. Brard for 13 yrs and he is wonderful. He listens, asks questions and is willing to discuss concerns. I was glad when they opened the Tempe office, but the office staff leaves something to be desired. The woman at the front never seems happy to see patients walk in and never greets people. They are the first impression of the offfice and not making a good one at all! And unfortunately, the wait at this location can sometimes be over 30-45 minutes. Also, it does not seem like they take patients in order; my last visit, 3 people walked in at least 15 minutes after me and were all taken back first. read more

I saw Dr. Brard today, very bad appointment. I should have known something was wrong when I was able to get an appointment quickly when most other endocrinologists in the valley are booked months in advance. He spent about 3 minutes talking to me, most of the time putting me down with snide comments to his PA. He jumped to the most obvious thing and wouldn't even listen to the real reason I had booked the appointment. He is arrogant, rude, and doesn't listen. He did nothing that I couldn't have paid $80 for at Sonora Labs and done myself. This was a total waste of time. If you need a doctors office who doesn't respond to pharmacy and insurance requests.....this is the place for you. It's impossible to get a hold of anybody when you need a prior authorization for meds or even trying to schedule an appointment. They don't answer emails or return calls after you leave a voicemail. Some people (like me) are insulin dependent and may need a refill in a timely manner, when that doesn't happen, we are now at risk of something fatal happening to us. I feel like this place doesn't give a damn about their patients. Really sad because diabetes isn't a condition to take lightly. Please look elsewhere if you need an endocrinologist. read more

I'd rate Mr. Shadmany a zero if I could. He does not deserve the respect a doctor is entitled to. After waiting an hour, the unprofessionalism from this lizard of a man was unreal. As multiple people said, he DOES NOT LISTEN. He will try to talk over you and demean you. He is a little man who thinks that since he owns his little clinic, he is god of that clinic. He refused to sign off for an MRI, which I was willing to pay for out of pocket. When asked why, he stated "you do not tell the doctor what to do". I said I wanted it notated in my charts that he refused an MRI, and he said "I do not have to". Shadmany is a sad, pathetic little man. I was a new patient for a consult on a thyroid issue. I went to the Mesa office, my review is for that experience. Pros: *New patient process not that bad, did have bit of trouble reaching someone on phone...but once I did they were pleasant and responsive. *Was able to get appt. within a reasonable time frame. *Felt confident in Dr. Alamir's knowledge and he explained everything to me in a very respectful way. *Dr. Alamir's MA is very helpful and personable. Cons: *Had a blip with getting access to the patient portal, they could make that part of their process in making sure people have that. *Wait in the office was 35 minutes, but I guess that can be common for specialists - I just don't like waiting. read more

1st time appointment today- have never been so disgusted with the front office (East mesa office)- waiting area, Covid safety appears only to be a concern for staff- people waiting in line for check in are less than 18 in. from me sitting and waiting- I observed patients coming in for scheduled appointments turned away because they did not confirm- concerned I evaluated this policy in my new patient paperwork and apparently you have 24 hours to confirm your appointment OR LOSE IT AND BE charged $50- some people do have lives and can't jump to these whims- that's the point of making an appointment. That's why there are allowances and financial consequences for no-shows. There were multiple scheduling complaints I observed during my egregious time waiting (from the lab that operates there as well). HIPPA is apparently a foreign notion- as names , DOB's, diagnosis and much more including personal situations were shared publicly at the reception desk without discretion. you try not to hear but when your less than 2 feet away... it's difficult to ignore. There was no covid screening at the front door- there was no bilingual signage of masks or precautions to not enter. There was no cleaning of equipment visible before/ after usage - and being that the MA followed me straight away to the room I am highly doubting it ever occurred. Next (2nd) appointment led to provider actually saying "I assumed you..." a dangerous method of practice for anyone providing medical care - end result the assumption put the patient's LIFE AND HEALTH at risk which was acknowledged by the provider and no apology made. (3rd appointment) while having viable insurance that covers diabetic supplies lancets /strips instead of getting necessary authorizations insurance asked to be completed suggested we pay CASH for these supplies instead of insurance which covers them 100%- do your job people! I wouldn't recommend this place to my worst enemy, I've seen veterinarians offices with more skill, compassion, communication and respect for their patients ... this office is supposed to provide care to people we care about and I quote from their website "We are dedicated to forming a partnership that will help you achieve consistent control of your health." .... apparently the staff providers missed that training or memo read more

I tried to schedule my fiance on Tuesday and they said they were unable to schedule him because he does not have any recent medical records. HE IS A NEW PATIENT COMING TO YOU TO START A MEDICAL RECORD. He also just moved from California. Anyways.. so I told the girl that if I can try and get his records back in 2018 from California if they would see my fiance. She stated that she would get back to me after asking one of the doctors if they would take on his case. They seem to be very efficient here. We used to see Dr Lewis, but he died some time ago. We continue to come here to the new guy, and he seems very competent. He is very data-oriented, frequently mentioning what studies have (and have not) shown. But he also pays attention to how the patient feels even as he checks the lab reports. They have an online system to manage your care which seems to be good. A few clicks and they've ordered your new prescription for you. A few more and they've printed out a blood work order. read more

Horrible. With consideration I filled out the new patient forms online so the staff wouldn't have to process and key them in - akin to being an unpaid cashier & bagger at Walmart & supermarkets. I arrived a few minutes early for the Insurance Card, ID scan and to pay the co-pay. I asked if Dr. Brard was running on time & was told yes while another staff member told patients their doctor was 25 minutes behind. I explained I needed to get back to work and time there costs me money. 30 minutes later I'm brought back but after the BP Cuff, I'm left over 20 minutes more! I look across the hall and a sign with "next" is on another room. Up front, a man getting a blood test says he heard my doctor us running 1 Hour behind. I asked for my co-pay back & to not be charged any cancellation fees. When a patient is late to any doctor appointment, they forfeit it & are charged a $40-$50 fee. Why is our time less important? They make Hundreds of Dollars an hour, but it isn't enough? They have to overbook to bill more and spend less time with patients? I wish I'd checked the reviews here first. I saw an endocrinologist at this facility for three years. I was informed in Dec 2017 that effective Jan 2018 he would no longer accept TRICARE insurance. TRICARE medical insurance is a veteran benefit earned by long-term honorable service in the military; in my case, twenty-three years. I visited the clinic today to inquire whether any of the other doctors would accept TRICARE. I was told none did. So, keep this in mind as you look for an endocrinologist.
