Prohpet J.

I've been to Valley Church for a year and a half. So far, I have found it to be a great church. They have solid ministries for kids, students, young adults and many more. It's interesting that they have their own tennis court. Based on my experience, there are some really good people who have a good heart for others with a Christ mindset. There are those who have good skills with interpreting the Bible. I have been impress with how they were able to interpret the Bible because the Bible is the living word. In my heart, I would give this church 4 or 5 stars. But the reason why it is 2 stars is because I have found some things that I believe that the church needs to get better at. Through the holy spirt, I feel that they are not disputing hard enough towards bad people that I have been seen coming. I did say that there are some good people at this church, but I have met some of those who are mentally messed up with some bad behavior. One person I met ties to connive me that homosexuality is ok, when really it's not. Another person would say some really nasty words with a rude behavior. And very few with some bad behavior. Overall, there were plenty of people with spiritual maturity. Eventually, God called me to leave this Church fast like it was not a drill. I didn't want to believe that because I didn't want to leave the good friendship that I had made, but is has been revealed to me that there is DANGER at this place. I can't understand how a church can have DANGER when they are supposed to be a part of the Body of Christ. Believe me or not, but God confirmed to me that he has an anger face at this pace. Because I had revived it during my personal devotion time and it was confirmed through some who had the dreams. The dreams were visions of this place having DANGER. With that, I have personally recognized that some sin is growing like yeast in this place. No one is reconzing it, but me.

Grew up in this church! Still a wonderful place to worship and fellowship when I'm in town!

A few updates to the older reviews:…read more There are now 2 services (as the church planted a new church in Willow Glen a few years ago). Services are at 8:30am and 10:30am, with a "coffee hour" in between. If you're late, don't worry, as the first 15 minutes or so is praise singing. However, if you arrive later than 8:25 or 10:25, park on the street - don't even bother trying to get into the church parking lot! :) The church is easy to miss - there is only one auto driveway to the back parking lot, on the side away from the freeway hump. Don't be afraid to mention that you're a visitor! While this church is very warm and friendly, many of the people are quite introverted and sometimes hesitate to reach out . It's not that they're cold or clique-ish but it's not a church where people keep an eye out for visitors and pounce on them. (Big contrast to my old church!) This is a church where you do need to ask...people are always willing to answer and respond to your needs, but for some reason (introvertedness?) people seldom offer information unsolicited. One person mentioned that even though their infant cried in church, it was their 5th Sunday before someone told them there is a "crying room". So do ask, and read the bulletin - never during the sermon, of course! :) There's an information kiosk on the patio that's open between services where you can get any questions answered. We chose this church because it values youth ministry. There is a full-time High School pastor, a full-time Jr. High pastor, and a full-time Childrens Ministries pastor who coordinates an awesome Sunday School program. The one weakness I've seen is a lack of childrens/youth music. While the Jr & Sr. High have praise bands and praise singing, there's no youth or childrens choir, for example. (The church is eager for someone to volunteer to start one, though!) There is an adult choir that performs once a month during the school year. The 35 minute sermon is expository Bible teaching; and while very good, it took me 3 years to stay focused through the entire lesson! There are 3 pastors that preach/teach, and each tends to do about 6 Sundays in a row, then another takes over, usually on a different book of the Bible. One thing that impressed me is a lack of emphasis on politicized issues. You get the feeling that the pastors are very caring, compassionate people.

Good people. Lots of children's programs and real stain glass and sometimes choir! Children's…read moreprogram choir my friends children were in was great! Part of four churches in the South Bay with one in Willow Glen and Palo Alto as well.
