He listened to everything and came up with a decent idea, but it didn't really fit our business image. We needed something edgier. He went back to the drawing board and returned with an idea so good, we've decided to use it for our year-long campaign instead of just the holidays. Go, Steve. Go! Steve and his team are so easy to work with. They have great senses of humor too. When you call to talk to Steve, pray that he's out. You'll go straight to his voicemail. It's hysterical: "Hey, it's Steve Sevell. I'm not in right now, so, please leave me a message. But remember, if you don't have anything nice to say..." Then the machine beeps like it's blurting out a curse word, and you begin your message. I also read an article that featured Beverly Sevell, Steve's wife and business partner. She was asked to give advice to other women who want to get ahead in their careers. Her response?: "Sleep with the boss." From head to toe, this company is clever. Even the business cards are creative. All around good people with good work ethic and smart minds.

If you didn't know you were looking for Matrix Media Services, you wouldn't find it. It's not that…read morethe building is hidden, but rather there's very little signage to indicate "you have arrived at Matrix Media Services." Something that I always appreciate is off the street parking -- which the facility has; however, if you are handicapped or in a wheel chair you will not be in a position to navigate the building at all. There's a staircase to get in the building, and one you're inside there are more stairs that you need to navigate to get from office to office and room to room. From what I hear, it's a very old building that was significantly rehabbed, so that's par for the course. Of the several times I have been to the Matrix Media Services offices, I have always felt welcomed by the receptionist and been helped in ways that exceeded my expectations. If you're looking for out-of-home advertising solutions, I would highly recommend connecting with this place to see how they can help you.

We partner with advertising agencies, in-house marketing departments, small businesses, public relations firms, non-profit organizations and private citizens to help them achieve their marketing goals through outdoor advertising. We are a constantly evolving media planning and placement agency, always striving for innovation in order to give our clients an edge. Our house was built by traditional out-of-home media like billboards, transit advertising, mall displays, and airport ads. It was then enhanced by a digital media division and refreshed with social media. We were delving into non-traditional and alternative outdoor before most marketers were aware of advertising on coffee sleeves, dry cleaner bags or gas pump toppers. Oh, and as far as digital-out-of-home media, we were analyzing that fledgling sector of the industry before DOOH became the buzz-worthy acronym of choice.

We use Madison & Fifth at my job, and thus far they have been a pleasure to work with. Since we enlisted their help, our web hits have gone up considerably. I can't say I give them 100% of the credit, as we made several other changes as well, but they definitely get part of the props. We first sat down with Chris and Chris (female and male) to discuss what we wanted to do. They listened carefully then hit us with a game plan. They've never failed us. If we need something, they provide it. If we have an idea, they help us develop it. If we run into a strange internet snafu, we call or email, and they have it fixed within a few business days if not the same day. They're chic geeks who are always up on what's new including new solutions to old problems. Namedrop: Madison & Fifth works on websites like DeepWood, Cameron Mitchell, and Easton. Check out their stuff. All the sites are visually pleasing in their simplicity, and I love the interactive features.

Link to news story: http://www.foxnews.com/opinion/2016/07/15/gods-not-dead-2-ad-rejected-at-cleveland-convention-for-being-way-too-incendiary.html The billboard rejected by the media company in this news article hardly seemed "way too incendiary" to me. Our country's founding was based on principles of freedom of religious expression, not freedom from religious expression. Obviously, a private company has the right to uphold a different set of principles than that if they so choose, but people should be aware of what these principles are (or there should be a clarification if they've been misunderstood). Apologies if this is not the same company or just an affiliate, but it certainly looks to me that the two are one and the same.

Orange Barrel is responsible for the barrage of large ads that have lately began to dominate Columbus sky space. My favorite ad is the cans of paint near The Elevator on High st. The cans are tipped and their splatter runs all the way down the building on to two cars parked at the bottom. To add to the ad, the cars are covered in said paint... Brilliant! Also really enjoyed the Fabio aging panels for Nationwide. Some of you may remember the backlash that caused as the aged Fabio was said to resemble Les Wexner. If you still have no clue as to what I am talking about perhaps the Charles Penzone ad near Broad and High rings a bell, or the many ads for galleries in the Short North. The ads from Orange Barrel almost weren't. Originally ODOT said they cause too much distraction to drivers. Lame. What the ads really do is give Columbus a bigger city feel than it really is. Not to mention create ads that blur the line between art in their creativity. Look up and appreciate what Orange Barrel is doing to the city. To me its commercialism I can appreciate and respect.
