I hired Will to take down a couple of trees in my front yard a few months ago. He was an efficient worker on that relatively small project and I could tell he was a hustler. I actually left a positive review after that. Unfortunately, I spoke too soon. A month later I asked Will if he could come out and quote a pond clearing job. He came out within a few days. We walked around the perimiter of the pond and I discussed in detail what I was looking to have done. Will insisted the project and everything I was looking for was something he could manage. I went ahead and hired Will again. This time, it was a mistake. I had concerns that the machine Will was using wouldn't be large enough to reach out and dig out all the pond weeds. That turned out to be a valid concern. The weeds in many parts of the pond weren't dug up at the roots as Will told me he'd be able to do. Will ensured me the pond bank would be smoothed over and graded after the excavator work was done. That did not happen. It is a mess currently. He ensured me he would be cutting all the tree stumps down around the pond. He did not do that. Will ensured me he would spread grass seed around the newly cleared area. He did only about half of it. During the project, Will buried the pond overflow pipe despite me showing it to him and warning him of it prior to beginning the project. The inlet drain pipe leading into the pond was also dug up and the pitch was altered, despite me showing it to Will before the project was started. I would have no reason to be upset about any of this if Will hadn't come out and visually inspected everything and ensured me everything I mentioned would be taken care of. But the fact is he did come out and ensure me that everything I mentioned wouldn't be a problem. The worst part by far is Will's unwillingness to speak on the phone like an adult after I mentioned all of the above concerns to him. I sent a series of text messages and voicemails requesting a call back. Initially, Will texted me back saying not to worry and that everything would be corrected. I waited a week. I waitied another week. No sign of Will coming out. Additional attempts to contact him were made. He then ignored me over the next few weeks. I even called his partner in an attempt to get some clarity. But there was no response. I've left mutliple messages with Will asking that even if he does not wish to honor his word and complete the project and correct the things that went wrong, that he call me and tell me that. It truly gives me second hand embarrassment for him that he is not adult enough to pick up the phone and simply state that to me. For a small tree project, this company might be fine. Anything beyond that, they simply cannot be trusted. I returned as a second time customer and the trust I gave them was betrayed. I would proceed with caution if they attempt to tell you your project is something they can handle without a problem. Based on my experience, it appears they are unwilling to take ownership of mistakes. And when that's the case, you can figure on spending additional money for someone else to come out and correct their errors. read more
