I booked two blow dry appointments at Sip and Dry for my sister's rehearsal dinner--one of which was supposed to include a ponytail for my sister, the bride. I chose this blow dry bar because a ponytail is clearly listed as one of the available styles under the blowout section on their website. When we got there, they kept the bride waiting around for 20 minutes before finally informing us that they "didn't feel comfortable" doing a ponytail because they didn't have enough girls trained in that style. Seriously, a hair and beauty business with 6-8 creative professionals on staff at the time, and no one could do a simple ponytail? On the day of her rehearsal dinner! The bride ended up crying in the chair, and I started crying too, and no one working there cared or showed the slightest bit of empathy. When I expressed my disappointment on the way out, the girl at checkout (don't know her name, but she had pink hair) dismissively told me that ponytails are considered an "updo," and they didn't have enough girls trained in a ponytail to do my sister's. When I pointed out that ponytails are listed under the blowout section on their own website, she just looked away and didn't respond. No acknowledgment, no apology--just silent, rude indifference. The ponytail didn't include any pinning of hair, which is what they define as an "updo". They ruined what should have been a joyful, memorable part of my sister's wedding weekend. The place had a very strange vibe, was completely unprofessional, and I just can't understand how the people working are so bad at interacting with humans. I would never recommend Sip and Dry to anyone--especially not for anything remotely special.

Now for shades, they have so many it's nearly impossible to not find a shade that is suitable for your skin tone. They can go natural face, light, medium, full coverage all the way to pageant looks. Their products are able to build so you can use the same eyeshadow to work that you could then use on someone who is going on stage to perform. It's amazing. Once your face is completed, the confidence it gives you and the inner self esteem it brings is amazing. I always feel as beautiful as I am on the inside when I wear Mac on the outside. She made my hair look SO much healthier with the color and a cut (I needed the hard truth that I had a lot of dead ends), as well. She first walked through what I wanted and what would look best for my hair type (I have baby fine, straight hair that had an old, grown out blonde highlight job that turned brassy) and then worked her magic. She chatted when I wanted to chat and other times just let me soak in the experience (especially the amazing shampoo/scalp massage). She definitely has found a repeat client with me! The salon itself is small but doesn't feel cramped at all, and everyone is super nice so you end up joining in other conversations, as well. You can have coffee or water and your stylist is with you from start to finish (no hand-offs to someone else who will shampoo your hair for you). Sunday was a low key day so I can't be sure it's always like this, but I appreciated that level of attention and care. The quality is worth the cost (not the cheapest but also not the most expensive color I've had, and the B3 is worth $50 more), for sure!
