What especially impressed me was that Jorge provides a much more comprehensive service than facilitators who simply coordinate paperwork and tell you where to meet them at an INM office near the border. Jorge personally picked me up from my San Diego hotel at 9:30 a.m., drove me across the border, handled the logistics with me throughout the process, and returned me directly to my hotel afterward. Even more importantly, Jorge was able to secure a short-notice appointment at an INM office in a town approximately 40 minutes from the border that processes Permanent Resident cards the same day. That made an enormous difference. I had heard numerous accounts of applicants completing their canje at other offices and then waiting two or three weeks for their residency cards. In my case, I am currently in San Diego on personal business and completed the entire process and received my Mexican Permanent Resident Card that same day! Jorge then drove me back across the border, and I was back at my San Diego hotel by approximately 2:00 p.m. From hotel pickup to having my Permanent Resident Card in hand and returning to San Diego, the entire process took only about four and a half hours. I can now re-enter Mexico at my leisure once my personal business meetings in is complete. Jorge clearly knows the local INM system, understands which offices can process cases efficiently, and has the experience and IMN relationships to quickly navigate the process and obtain ID in a way that would be very difficult for someone unfamiliar with the system to replicate on their own. Excellent service from start to finish. My normal office to visit is Mission Valley, where they greet you well and they are very kind to any members, and kind to whomever walks through the door. I visited Chula Vista office on 5/22/25 for lunch break. I walked in and an AAA Lady up front sized me up and down. I waited for her to verbally greet me, and that did not happen. She gave me that 'teacher to student condescending acknowledgement of my turn in line' look. As she waited for me to respond to her, I waited for her to "speak". After about another 45 seconds she says, "What do you need?" ...I was shocked. Not, 'Good afternoon', 'Hi, how may I help you?', 'Hello, what may I help you with today?', nor 'Welcome to AAA..' no greeting. I responded that I am here for DMV Registration Services. She replies by looking at me incredulously, "Well as long as you are a member..." and pulled out her pointer finger while saying it, indicating that I was not AAA Member. I ignored her when she asked for my AAA Membership card. I already had it ready on my Apple Wallet for her sour attitude to scan me in. Once she did that she directed me to the DMV Services line. She was still being rude and with horrible customer greeting and triaging service. The AAA Lady at the DMV Services area greeted me well and was customer service friendly. I was able to get everything completed in about 7mins. The AAA Lady who handled my Member Services last name on my card update, I think her name was Karla, was very nice and very efficient. She verified my AAA card and account info and updated it with my current last name information from my REAL ID. I was super happy with her customer service. The visit was about 12 mins total. The rude AAA Lady up front triaging customers was a 50s aged white woman. The nice DMV Services AAA Triage Lady was a 30s aged hispanic woman. The very kind AAA Services Member Analyst (I think her name was Karla?) was a 30s aged hispanic woman. The DMV & Member services portion of my visit saved my visit and this is why I gave 2 stars. The initial intake greeting desk AAA Lady is why I took off 3 stars for this particular visit. I have since visited this office again on 05/27/2025. I will update my review for that visit in a week.

At that point I'm annoyed but still gave her a chance, and thought maybe she's just busy. I waited for about 5 min, but at this point I didn't want to waste anymore time waiting. At the very least, she could have let us know that she was running behind and ask us to wait a few more min. Nope, she just sat there on her computer as we waited outside. There was a very friendly employee that took a decent amount of time, to explain what I needed and the process. This is recommended, as there are some specifics you have to get right. I was provided a small handout that if followed exactly, would out come a passport. With the cheat sheet provided and some prep work before, I walked in on a Monday morning. There's a $30 processing fee and I think photos are also $15 but we took ours in advance. (Side note- Costco no longer does passport photos). Go online- I just typed in Chula Vista library passports and selected passports and appointments. They release appts the day prior at 5p I believe. I overheard the worker say they're relocating after this week I think. Forgot to ask where. Appts are short like 10mins. Don't be late. Remember both parents must be present for kids passports- you sign in front of them at the end.
