Always purchased at Vail Farmers Market, I'm sad to report (I can't find a most appropriate site for this review and) I'm low on my Loredana's Il Mezzogiorno tapenade. The Jalapeño Marinated Asiago is gone entirely. Initially I felt those forlorn feelings the great pioneers must have suffered when provisions were low and a blizzard or miscreants blocked an easy ride for essentials to the general store. Loredana's prepossessing symphonies of ingredients delight the tastebuds beyond belief! Note: I just used an exclamation point (very uncharacteristic), but Loredana's is to be celebrated, revered and repurchased - again and again. Not a true farmer's market. A fun place to go and look around, but that fun let's check out all the different produce stands part is not there. There are more booths for clothing, accessories, and things. I did like the gentleman at Kream Kimchi who had some really great kimchi and variations of it! read more

The most scenic farmers' market I have been to! The peaches are amazing! so juicy and sweet. Mini donuts are hot and cinnamon sugar go so well. Pecans from the nuts stall (you can't miss it) is amazing! you can mix them as well (cashew, almond). $8 for a small bag. Lime zest sorbet gelato was amazing. Sour and not too sweet, super refreshing. $5 and you can mix 2 flavors, super friendly guy. Comes with 2 animal crackers. read more

If this was called the Vail Sunday Market, 4 stars: easy to get to, compact & nice to walk around, great variety of food & artisan products, ok prices. It's a tourist town, so this is pretty ideal for an audience of visitors like me. But I counted exactly one agricultural producer (plus one cheesemaker and one seafood reseller) -- maybe it started as a farmers' market, but that sure isn't what it is now. read more

Huge market, i only saw 3/4 I think because I was short on time, yet what I saw was great! Fresh flowers, fresh lemonade, fresh hot roasted nuts (many types), fresh veggies, fresh pastries! LOTS of people so plan to weave through folks and wait in lines totally worth the wait! Delicious nuts! Parking probably could be tough, I was on my bike, yet I saw a couple signs to lots and 2 garages (probably more) maybe go early to avoid the crowds! Many clothing and accessory booths, local artists wares and all the stores and restaurants along the route were open as well. Bring a hat or buy one and enjoy this market. read more

If your staying in the area Saturday night, do not rush to leave Sunday morning! Request a late checkout and take a stroll through the Farmers Market. It won't disappoint. Not your typical Farmers Market. Yes, they have "some" farm fresh produce but so many unique other booths from art, to tourist trinkets to food that is amazing! As a matter fact I filled up on so many free samples that I wasn't hungry for lunch. It's huge and sprawling and took us a good two hours to see everything. There's something for everyone including the kids, so don't pass on the opportunity to visit. An awesome experience to say the least! read more

We're in town for a conference and staying within walking distance of Vail Village. We were fortunate to be here when the Vail Farmers' Market happened. I've been to several Farmers' Markets but this one takes the cake. It's massive!!!! I've never seen anything like it. And it has the perfect backdrop scenery. Apparently they do this every Sunday and I'm telling you right now, it's no joke! Vail Farmers' Market happens every Sunday between 6/18/17-10/1/17 on East Meadow Drive in Vail Village at 10am-3:30pm. Over 135 tents altogether. Wow! It feels like it's never ending. they had some very cool vendors too. And the food options looked amazing and smelled heavenly. The Vail Farmers' Market has spoiled me for all other Farmers' Markets. If you're in town and free on a Sunday, definitely check this out while they are around. Totally worth walking around to see all the vendors. I love this stuff. "The Vail Farmers Market is entering its 17 years in Vail on Meadow Drive. The event started with a few tents and now has grown to over 135 tents for 16 Sundays of the summer. Large and interesting farmers market with fresh produce, crafts, live music, hot food, ice cream, desserts, baked goods, honey and artists. Just make sure to come before 2 if you want to see all the offerings. By 2:30 many stands are packing up and closing down even though its open til 3:30! Well worth the visit on a Sunday in Vail! Bring reusable bags because most stands didn't seem to offer any bags for purchases! read more

This can make for a fun weekend outing, but as other Yelpers have mentioned, "farmers market" is a bit of a misnomer. Yes, there are some fresh produce stands, but they seem far outnumbered by food trucks and upmarket stalls selling things like Patagonia bags, sunglasses, pottery, etc. Local peaches were in full season this past week, and it was nice to get a basket of those, but on the whole, the experience was a bit of a let-down. Also, cyclists should be forced to dismount in the high traffic areas. As a regular biker myself, I'm definitely pro-wheels, but it's inconvenient and dangerous to have to dodge them amidst the already substantial crowds of pedestrians. read more

It's Vail, of course it's fantastic! Something for everyone including kids and dogs. Love the Salmon and Latkes vender, Palisade peaches, Austrian baked goods, exotic chocolate, Art, everything. To call this a Farmers Market you must stretch your definition to include the visual and plastic arts, wood sculptures, the distillery and brewing arts, as well as jewelry, high end cutlery, a plethora of booths offering hot food of all kinds, with a smattering of fresh produce booths almost as an afterthought. And, of course, in the majestic ski and summer resort of Vail village. There is free parking available at the village, but I recommend getting in before 11 am to be reasonably assured of finding a spot. I was particularly delighted by the tastings at the 10th Mountain Whiskey & Liquors Co. and myself and my girlfriend purchased a bottle each of their rye and bourbon whiskeys. I also enjoyed my chat with the vendor at Wynn Farms who shared her family recipe of grilled eggplant seasoned with a sauce of capers and garlic. More public restrooms and shaded areas for eating and resting would be highly recommended for future markets. Don't miss the Vail Museum at the Village parking center for an audiovisual historical overview of Vail and the contributions of the 10th Mountain Division to the creation of Vail and other Colorado ski resorts. read more

One of the best Farmers Markets I've ever been to! The smells of the food cooking alone make your mouth water. There is tons of taste testing and different types of food to choose from. Not to mention taste testing liquor. Sold! FYI, Do wait for the people to serve you out the samples, we received a snide comment and a lecture on how people don't wash their hands after we picked out pieces of jerky from the containers. (The guy wasn't even there to serve them out to us nor was there a sign so how were we supposed to know.) read more

Maybe not a true farmers market, but it sure is a lot of fun. We're regulars in Vail and never miss a farmers market when we're there. Look at it this way, it's farmers market PLUS. It's dog friendly and the crowds come out because of the variety of offerings and because of the crowd, itself. It makes for great people watching and it's super dog friendly. Attended the Vail Farmers Market for the first time in July 2017. Great local talent. There was everything from handmade purses, body scrubs & lotions, bowls, dog toys, clothes, shoes, hats, jewelry and much much more. Also great food and flowers EVERYWHERE. Just gorgeous! Get there early or when they open because it gets packed fast as does the parking. Lots of fun! read more

I'm so bummed I found this place on the last week of the season. There are so many awesome local vendors here. I had such a hard time not buying something from every booth we stopped at. Had I known about this earlier, I would have stopped by a lot more often. It's worth the drive, especially during fall so you can see the aspens changing color. Some of my favorite booths were: Hawaiian cookies, the couple working at the booth are originally from Hawaii and are the friendliest people you will ever meet. Talking to them really made me miss home and the Aloha spirit. I haven't seen these type of cookies anywhere but Hawaii, they are really thin and crispy and VERY ADDICTING. Cold Mountain Craft: Handmade leather items. I was obsessed with almost everything at this booth. Everything was crafted beautifully and was made with quality leather. I don't know how long we were stopped there just looking at all the different items. They also have a good selection of produce, BBQ, Japanese food, baby clothes, pies, you name it. Next fall, I'm definitely taking the bf for an overnight trip in Vail just so we can wake up in the morning and hit the Farmers Market. read more

If you are anywhere near Vail on a Sunday in season, the Farmers Market is a must-see. Come early - parking is free, but the garage fills up. It gets crowded, so if you can beat the crowds you will get your shopping done a lot faster. The market runs along several blocks in the village, so come prepared to walk. If you visit farmers markets you will notice some regular vendors - Vail just has more of them. Mix the vendors in with the shops along the streets, and you get a fun mix of food, crafts, and experiences. read more

The only reason this isn't 5 stars is that the number of "farmers" at the farmer's market is somewhat limited; if you're coming here just to stock up on local produce, you'll likely be underwhelmed with options, and potentially be disappointed. However, if you're looking for a nice excuse to wander, shop, sample, be entertained, taste, and enjoy glorious mountain weather in a beautiful mountain town, then you won't be disappointed here! A good variety of vendors, including a long section, just off the "main street", of high quality food and beverage vendors. The shop vendors are unique and upscale. And the children's bounce house, clown, and bands are sure to entertain. There are a handful of local produce farmers and they seem to have a good variety (in August) of offerings. It's pretty large, and if you're just casually wandering you can easily spend more than an hour taking it all in. A nice way to get outside and enjoy the weather. read more

We love this farmers market. I would say it's second to boulders farmers market. They have a great variety of vendors and have a lot of food choices. All the vendors I have interacted with have been very nice and are usually more than willing to let you try there products. Parking can be a bit of an issue. We parked in the garage and it took us nearly half an hour to find a spot. That and the fact that things are a bit pricey make this a 4 star review instead of 5. The money is going back to our community so I can justify spending $10 for a turkey leg, which by the way was delicious. Having the market in the center of town is great. It really offers a true Colorado feel. The back drop is breathtaking and there are always several other things going on in town so it's great for people watching. It can get a bit crowded late morning. I would go early or late afternoon. It's absolutely on my list of things to do in Colorado. It's worth the drive from Denver but be ready for mountain traffic on the way home if you leave Vail before 7pm. Taking Loveland pass can shave 1/2 an hour off your commute if you have the stomach for it. For me it's part of the experience of going to Vail. Don't miss the Swiss Hot Dog stand (go early, they run out of sprouts), the Avocado Salad Dressing dude who's screaming out "it's a salad revolution", the smoked salmon from the chef from FoCo (buy the smoked salmon to take home, the smoked salmon sandwich for instant gratification) and every stop that features tapenade, beef jerky and CO peaches. New this year, Noosa yogurt from the FoCo area...it's as close as you can get to eating sour cream out of a tub (but you get to convince yourself it's healthy). read more

What, no reviews for the largest farmers' market in Colorado? A little unusual that there's not as much produce (unlike the markets in CA), but the Vail market more than makes up for it with the prepared-food stands, including some from Vail's better restaurants, giving you a chance to sample their offerings. What else? There's live music and a festive crowd of all ages (which, granted, lots of farmers' markets have). It also has a picturesque setting, along Vail's main drag, unlike a lot of other farmers' markets. I look forward to my yearly dose of the Vail Farmers Market. Great art and great food. We didnt get any art, but here are the food items we tried: - Beaver Potatoes. The only way I can describe it is as a potatoe spiraled around a very long kabob stick. It was fried and had the consistency of french fries, sprinkled with your choice of seasonings. We chose Parmesan Cheese and Sour Cream and Chives. Very delicious, although not altogether nutritious. - Tried several fo the balsamic vinegar and olive oils. Ended up buying a plain balsamic vinegar that will be great over pasta and greens. Lots of samples and lots of fun. See ya'll next year! read more

GREAT farmers market on Sundays in Vail from 9 - 3! It is BUSY but must be the longest market ever. Very cool. Not very many produce stands (3-4?) but there are meat and seafood vendors, restaurants, local artisans, and lots more. Check out the tacos from La Cantina- 2/$3 or the fried tacos at the end of the market that are 2/$6. Lots of amazing choices and fun to stroll and people watch for a couple hours. read more

Farmers market? Where are the farmers? Where are the veggies and other produce? This is more like a crafts market. Most of the food is in the form of food court and packaged food products. I saw maybe 2 local produce vendors. Is it fun to walk around? Yup. But a farmers market it is not. Unless you consider clothes, paddle boards and art normal attractions at a farmers market. This was a top notch farmers market. Everything from fresh produce to more delicious food then you can eat. Be sure to get there early because parking (though super expensive parking) fills up quick. For a nice morning Colorado day trip it was worth the drive from Denver. read more

Went down to the Farmers Market in Vail CO when we stayed in Avon CO last week. The prices seemed quite high to us as peaches were $3 to $4 a pound and the parking is very tight in the area. We were told that you have to park in the public parking area about 1 mile away and catch a bus to he market. Luckily my wife is handicapped so has a placard and was able to park a couple of blocks away. They had all kinds of items there from fresh produce to BBQ and crafts. I guess they have to charge so much cause it costs a lot to live in the area. The peaches we did get were ok not like we used to grow when we had Oompa-Loompa Farms in Lone Pine. But better than standard grocery store. The market spread out over a couple of blocks and had lots of people with their dogs Think that is a must when you live in Vail is to have a Lab to take to Farmers Market. At least there weren't any dog fights. Wheel chairs and strollers might be a problem here as it is a cobble stone type street, would be hard with crutches or walkers also read more

Fun way to spend an afternoon. Fairly large with lots of different vendors, ranging from art to food to whiskey tastings, etc. Can find unique jams, beet horseradish, etc. Lots of samples given out, but if you're planning on purchasing- bring cash! Many of the vendors don't take cards and don't have a Square on their phone. If you don't, be prepared to fork up the $3 ATM fee. Lots of affordable small plates (tacos, dumplings, etc for $4 under), so it's a great place to go for lunch if you want to try several different things. Only a few true "farmer's stands" (I came last week hoping to stock up on produce but only ended up walking away with some fresh roasted green chiles.) There do have a few stands that have staples like cukes, garlic, tomatoes. Awesome Green initiative- there is someone on hand to instruct visitors where to put trash/compostable/recylables. read more
