I've now gone for dinner often enough that I ask the chef to prepare my dishes Italian style and I also ask that he hold the salt... and that has made all the difference. The pasta with truffles is fantastic. The daily specials are recommended - fresher fare - and when it comes to the sides, ask them to hold the potatoes... After all, when you can have fresh sautéed spinach, or other veggies, why double starch it! The monkfish in saffron sauce the other night was a total surprise and I begged for more and the chef came by and shared his recipe.
Finally, ask the chef to make you a 'real' zabaglione with marsala and NO ice cream. The warm fluffy wine-infused custard is the perfect ending to a charming 'hood' meal.
