Walking down the streets of Mong Kok (旺角) or Tsim Sha Tsui (尖沙咀) would have a lot more stores and places to see, but this is more modern and clean in comparison. I think this place has seven floors with various eateries, Dim Sum restaurant on the top floor with the best Cha Shu (叉燒) I've ever had. There is a Cafe De Coral as well as a McDonald's. Mall gets a bit crowded after school hours so be aware of the time when visiting. The department store Aeon takes up about three of the top floors, Aeon is like a Sears of Japan/Asia with a grocery store attached. For foreigners, this is a good place to visit and experience.

They have a few food options (Cafe de Coral, McDonalds, KFC) and a multi-level department store (Aeno) complete with clothing, grocery, and discount home goods shops. Charmaine Sheh's posters are everywhere once you step into Aeno. They have express escalators that skip floors to bring you directly to their higher floors in addition to elevators. The entire mall is very clean and never gets too crowded. Hopefully it stays that way once the nearby MTR station (To Kwa Wan) is completed in 2018.

When it comes to TST shopping, Miramar Shopping Centre is my pick. For Miramar, take exit B1 at the MTR and turn right when you get out. Keep going straight - you won't miss it because there's a huge sign. Miramar Shopping Centre is actually connected to Mira Mall, so if you want, you can go into Mira Mall (as you're walking, you'll see the entrance for it first) and walk through it to get to Miramar Shopping Centre. Perhaps the best thing about Miramar is the huge 6ixty 8ight store. There is a 6ixty 8ight in Sha Tin close to where I live, but it's absolutely tiny and there are only two changing rooms. At this one, there are actually two sets of changing room, but every time I'm there, one of them is closed off. But there are still four or five cubicles, enough not to warrant a ridiculously long line! The 6ixty 8ight here has a good selection of not just lingerie, but clothes and pajamas too. American Eagle is nice too but overpriced, and I.T. is worth just taking a stroll in. If you're a fan of Japanese fashion, Liz Lisa, Snidel and Lily Brown are all within a stone's throw from each other! As for dining, there are more options over at Mira Mall, which you can walk to from Miramar Shopping Centre without stepping out onto the street and bracing the summer heat. And speaking of Mira Mall, you can't miss the huge Collect Point they have there for more Japanese fashion! For a mid-shopping coffee, you can head to Starbucks just outside of 6ixty 8ight. There's also a door that will lead you to the end entrance of Knutsford Terrace, so lots of restaurants and bars for you to explore there. Overall, try to make a trip to Miramar for some shopping the next time you're at TST. It's much less crowded than Harbour City and more affordable too, so the chances of you walking out with a purchase or two are much, much higher!

Mira Mall is bit of a puzzle to me. Given its prime location in TST, one would think that Henderson…read moreLand would have given more love and attention to the mall, in order to attract some of the massive crowds from Harbour City. However, Miramar's choice of tenants, coupled with its mediocre mall management makes it quite a bland and unattractive hangout destination. My 2-star review stems mostly from Mira's management issues. As a frequent driver, finding parking space is important, especially in crowded TST. I usually go for Harbour City because it has the most spaces and is the cheapest, compared to Mira/K11/The ONE. However, Harbour City's location is not exactly convenient if you have business around the Cameron Road/ Kimberly Rd area. Mira's parking lot charges you HKD33/hr on Mon-Thurs, and HKD35/hr on Fri-Sun. Validation is available, but not for all of the shops. If you fancy yourself some Dintaifung/ Chao Dynasty/ Habitu/ LabMade, please don't drive here because these shops are not validated for parking. Also, the parking lot is constantly full and drivers often have to queue along Kimberly Rd. Weekends are definitely a nightmare, so if you have a dinner appointment at Mira, do yourself a favor and take the MTR/cab. If you're lucky enough to have gotten inside Mira's parking lot, you will be amazed by the amount of available parking spaces inside. This is why I give Mira's management 2 stars - why force all these patrons to queue outside your mall and block the road when you have plenty of parking inside? Why put up a "Full" sign when spaces are abundant? Oh and although the mall charges you HKD33/hr, don't expect a decent-looking parking lot because you'll encounter dirty stains on the wall, bumpy surfaces, poor lighting, non-existent ventilation, and the overall feeling that you're caught in a bad horror movie. Lifts are also pretty confusing at Mira. If you enter from the main entrance, there's only one elevator on the G/F that takes you to the more popular restaurants. It's located on the left hand side once you walk in, and there's often a queue. If you're more acquainted with the mall, you can opt to take a flight of escalators up, where you'll find a larger lift lobby in the atrium. The queue is shorter because there are 3-4 lifts available. Food selection at Mira has improved though - they have amped up their F&B selection and brought in more popular restaurants, such as Dintaifung, So Thai So Good, Sen-Ryo, LabMade and Chao Dynasty. However, the shopping choices (apart from anchor tenants like Uniqlo and Muji) leave much to be desired. Do us a favor, Mira, and amp up the game. You have much potential really!

One of the newest malls in the Kowloon East area, Mikiki is abit of an oddity in that it is built…read morein one of the oldest areas of Hong Kong and it would probably be the last place anyone would think to find a new mall. In comes the ingenuity of Hong Kong's land developer: it sits next to the biggest regeneration area for the forseeable future; Kai Tak. This new mall isn't a purpose built one, its actually built to cater for the residents living upstairs. You will find this as soon as you walk in: there are no major brand name stores and in fact most of the basement area is taken up by the Yata supermarket. There are of course the normal chain stores though in general the whole feeling with this place could be described as neighborly. If you were looking around for a less tourist filled mall for a leisurely afternoon trek then this place may be for you- I say afternoon because its actually quite small and you should be done with it within about 2 hours. I would say that its good in the sense it caters for most basic stuff and you don't have to fight with other people just to get to the toilet. Though it may not be the first mall that comes to my mind if I was a tourist in Hong Kong. The best part is it's at the Tsing Yi MTR station. I wouldn't personally come all the way over here to shop, but if you're in the area or your live nearby, it's a great shopping mall. The eateries here are decent too. The Jade dynasty, Thai elephant and KFC on the third floor are my favorites. The bathrooms are also clean and very kid friendly. Maritime 2 also has Genki sushi which is one of my favorite restaurants in Hong Kong!

And when once…read moreyou become a grown-ass adult you feel like, "yeah I should go shopping at Calvin Klein, Paul Smith, Burberry, etc." This is like, valuing yourself by the value of things you own. And after awhile, you realize all other big shopping malls are the same and none of these brands' value reflects anything but a reminder of HK's notorious materialism, then yeah, you'll miss Causeway Place. It is undergoing a big overhaul and some of the shops are still under renovation. But the result so far is very refreshing. Yes you can see a few old shops that have been here for a decade, but the new shops give a lot of interesting elements to the mall. A ukulele shop, for example, is a new sight to me. The mall also removes the lower-end shops, .e.g mobile phone cases shop or check-shop (格仔舖), and makes the whole place with a little bit of class that more than just student-friendly. One more thing that works in my favor is the male clothing shops. They are rare breeds as malls are always focusing on female clothing. Since I'm a sucker of local brands and off-mainstream designs, the boom of male clothing shops here in Causeway Place actually fits me well. Give this mall another chance. It resides at the bestest spot in Causeway Bay, and deserves much better attention after the renovation is done.

Causeway Place is right opposite MTR Exit E, along the same street as Windsor House. Unlike Island Beverley and Laforet, I would say that there are comparatively less fashion boutiques and that the shops here are more varied. If you're looking to get accessories for your phone, be it portable chargers or covers, give Causeway Place a try. There are quite a few shops that specialize in accessories for your phone, and they're generally quite affordable (although still more expensive than places like Mong Kok, because this is after all Causeway Bay). Be sure to compare prices between stores before buying though! There's also one shop that is filled to the brim with Sanrio toys and accessories. If you have a daughter or a younger cousin, bring them here - this is a Hello Kitty/Rilakkuma/Sanrio-characters-in-general paradise! You'll be able to find anything from notepads to lunch boxes to bags here. Of course, if you're on the lookout for clothes and accessories, you won't be disappointed. There are quite a couple of shoe stores here and they have quite the variety! Note that if you're buying clothes, you probably won't be able to try them on as there are no changing rooms, so you might want to wear a tank inside that will enable you to just easily slip something on. Causeway Place isn't huge, but there's lots to see and lots to buy. Instead of going straight to Times Square or Sogo the next time you're at Causeway Bay, try coming here - it'll certainly be a refreshing change!

There are not that many shops besides Ikea and Aeon. Dining options are limited as well. Hence the 3 stars. However they have many shops and activities that cater to kids: indoor playhouse, go kart, etc. we took our daughter to the indoor playhouse on 12th floor she loved it. There is also a huge ice skating rink on 11th floor.

Metroplaza 新都會廣場 is a very nice shopping centre with over 200+ quality retail shops, restaurants, a…read moremovie theatre, and business offices on higher floors above. I have heard you can spend 8 hours here easily; I don't know how true that is lol. You can certainly find a lot of Western brands here, and many popular Asian brands as well. The food scene also attracts me here. When you arrive at MTR Kwai Fong Station, there is a footbridge already conveniently connecting you to Metroplaza. First thing you see would be the ginormous MUJI. Omg, it is like heaven in that store! It has beautiful interior designs, and an impressively large food section :D The pricing at this shopping centre is considered middle ranged; you can certainly find deals here when you look into it. I really enjoy shopping for shoes at these stores: Dr. Kong, Oriental Traffic, Staccato - I love their style, comfort level, and they often have my petite size in stock. Random tip: Female washrooms are usually packed on the lower floors... just head up a few floors and you will find it less congested.

My workplace is currently in this building and I have to admit that this is a pretty cool building…read more I'm in one of the office towers and since there isn't anything quite as high as this place in Kwai Fong, you end up getting some pretty good views, as a teacher, my students seem to enjoy the view too. It seems however that they didn't really think the windows through properly, considering how my windows appear to undergo a compression and expansion cycle during the day, where I start hearing these loud snapping noises. On the bright side, the office tower elevators are really speedy and they do split their elevators up by floors served. The mall below is quite large with some dining options. While there are much cheaper places to eat outside the mall, their offerings generally aren't too bad. There's also a lot of retail outlets for footwear and clothing, and really good connections to transit and other malls, so it's a pleasant building to be in overall. There's even a park with a running track just opposite the building. The management of this building definitely puts a lot of work in this building. While this place is a few decades old by now, it still looks and feels really new on the inside and it really isn't showing its age at all. I guess that's what happens when you consider interior designs thoughtfully and also renovate every so often. It am however annoyed by the absence of recycling facilities in both the mall and the office towers. Considering how Hong Kong has a landfill problem, and this place is smack-dab in the middle of a Residential and Industrial area (which probably actually does some of the recycling), It's puzzling as to why they don't recycle.
