I really appreciate having this store and all it stands for in my community. Remember, these are people volunteering / donating their precious irreversible commodity, time, for the benefit of the community. The income from this small store is generated back into the community via scholarships. The open hours are slightly slim, but the prices are quite reasonable . One week per month you can take advantage of one great price for all you can tuck into a shopping basket. I am glad to donate and shop at this store. read more

If you like the thrill of the hunt and old school thrifting experiences along with decent thrifting prices then this is the place for you. We found some hidden gems. I found some cool old toys for my collection and my honey found a cool ancient sweater that even if it isn't wearable is just cool to have. The gentleman who ran the place was friendly and helpful. The place gets a little hot and its pretty crammed but that's the point of a good thrift-venture imo. read more

This was such an awesome find with awesome deals. A lot of name brand items, ranging from GAP to Roxy to Lularoe to American Eagle and more. I couldn't believe the items in great condition at the bargains they were asking. There are a ton of things to see in this store, one could literally spend hours sitting through to find fantastic things. I got a ton of sweaters, jeans and two rugs that had been cleaned for $30. This is a true thrift shop for the thrifty. I can't wait to come back when I have more time. read more

All clothing put out the previous month is a dollar! 3rd week of the month is 2 items for the price of one! 4th full week of the month UVS has a basket sale, everything you can fit in a basket for $10! So I lied. I love this place. After my initial visit, everything changed. I believe I came after their clear out. On the last Saturday of every month, they clear out the entire store for new inventory. So last time, with my sad, sad review, it was right after a clear out. Today, I went to the shop and discovered that it was 50% off all yellow tags. I was like a child at the candy store. I spent 8 dollars. And it was amazing. I'm a lover of all things 80s and that is what I found today. Remember how I said the ladies that work here are sweet and adorable? That still stands. They might be even more amazing that I imagined. I want them for my grandmas. Hearing them banter and joke with each other was super entertaining. They were deciding how to price a pair of 7 For All Mankind jeans and the conversation that ensued was just great. You'll have to come by to know what I mean. Just don't take my 80s stuff please. I was in slo for the day and I decided to stop by a few thrift stores while I was there and I decided to stop here. The location was small but it was super cute. They had a lot of clothing options ranging from dresses to jackets to a ton of shirts and shoes. I was pleasantly surprised. On the particular day that I went, they were having a buy one get one free. I ended up buying 2 wonderful sweaters and 2 beautiful slips with lace at the top for just 6 dollars. I recommend coming here and definitely going through all their racks in search of those hidden gems because they do exist you just have to search. Definitely recommend this place. read more

I went in to UVS for the first time yesterday, and was so glad I did! I found some cute Halloween stuff and 2 adorable pair of pants and one was even only a dollar. The manager, Carolyn, is the sweetest woman ever. I chatted with her for a little while actually and just almost bonded with her. It's a great little shop and I'll definitely go back. read more

This is one of the best Thrift stores in SLO!! When they offer $8.00 a basket, I was able to buy very decent tops, with no rips, stains etc. I ended up getting 11 (eleven) tops for $8.00! Now it is hard for me to shop and pay full price for clothes! The donations come from local sources and the store is primarily full of clothes. The ladies who work there are all volunteers and cheerfully answer your questions. There is 1 fitting room so you are at the mercy of the "slower" shoppers. I have been twice now and will go back today for the buy 2 get 1 free sale. Their clothes are really marked to move and one of the least expensive thrift stores for clothes in the area. Check it out....parking is limited. Naturally you can request a receipt donations to use as a tax credit. read more

The last honest thrift store? I'm particularly loyal to this place because no one is trying to make me pay retail prices for things they have received for free(!) - as all the other 'thrift' stores in town do. The lovely, all-volunteer, staff receives items, prices them the lowest of any thrift store in town, and puts them out.. Because it is an all-volunteer staff, running on a shoe-string budget, the place is not the prettiest in town. It may, at times, smell like fish because there is a fish store next door, but it the only place in town you will find honest bargains in second-hand clothing. Those of us whose budgets need the help this place provides are VERY grateful. read more

This thrift store fits a stereotype of thrift stores a little too well. My husband and I did find a few things and the very senior lady who helped us was a pleasure, but there was (as stated by another reviewer) an unpleasant odor in the big clothing room, and some areas were so grungy it's like the items haven't moved in decades. I don't get the feeling that they put out new donations often. I took some things down from the top of a cabinet to look through and I was showered with dust and dead spiders. Yes, this may signal a true thrift shop to some. It was just a little too much for us. read more

The only real thrift store we found in SLO. We visited several, and most were expensive to ridiculous. This store had good prices with most clothing items at $2-$4, but it was 2/1 day so that got the cost down real low. It was the messiest of the stores we visited, and only one tiny change room, but it was also the smallest store. No bad smell except the fish store on the corner. My first skim through I didn't really find anything too exciting but my second time around I found some good stuff. I got a Ralph Loren jean button up shirt for 2, a gap thick knit cowl neck open front cardigan for 2, and a nice wool blazer with gold anchor buttons for 2. Not too shabby :) read more
