We love our outdoor kitchen done by Utopia. We met with Derek and showed him what we had in mind and also asked what he would do. He was creative and helped us see our true potential for our space. His design included 3 different areas (kitchen, dining, and relaxation) . We took a tour of the warehouse and could see the frames already built for other projects. This allowed us to see the quality of the frames that he used in his kitchens. At this point, we knew we were in good hands. If you are thinking about doing an outdoor kitchen, I would recommend talking to them first!! Pricing was reasonable and fair. We are fully satisfied with entire process and the results. I am writing to formally address several outstanding issues regarding the recent work performed at my property. I am dissatisfied with the quality of the installation and the damage caused during the process. Specifically, the contractor did not protect my flooring, resulting in grout stains, and the exterior of my home was stained as well. Although I have provided photographs documenting this poor workmanship, these concerns have not yet been adequately addressed by the (owner) Derek Additionally, my design was altered without my prior approval. I would like to confirm when I will receive the cooktop that was promised as compensation for this unauthorized change. ( not necessary but promised) Regarding the final cleanup and restoration of my home to its original condition, I understand you are requesting final payment before completing this. However, I expect the property to be restored and the workmanship issues resolved before the project is considered complete. My primary goal in sharing this feedback is to ensure these issues are brought to your team's attention so that future clients do not have a similar experience. BEWARE OF UTOPIA GRILL!? So we got our outdoor kitchen from Utopia grill. We had it a little over 6 months used it maybe 4 times. The first time we noticed the flames were really low and the grill was not getting very hot. Contacted the owner Derek they sent a guy out he adjusted the knobs for the flames. Then states it's your propane line it needs to be wide open to get proper flame. Ok so we contact propane company we paid the fee, they come out adjust the line. We light the grill while the propane guy is still here, the propane guy say it shouldn't take this long for the grill to get hot. We go to cook on the grill again just hamburgers and hotdogs nothing crazy. Still low flames and not a hot grill. When the knob is on high it's low and when it's on low it's low!! You turn the knob to high the flame jumps, but it doesn't go anywhere as far as height in flame. Contact the owner Derek again ask to send someone out to look at the grill. He asks me to send a video of the flames.. odd request but we send a video. He states the flames look like this on his grill and the grill is working fine. Obviously this is far from true because we're the ones using the grill and it's not heating properly. Ask yet again when can you send someone out to take a look at the grill? Derek proceeded to tell me that the flames in the video got higher and I was denying that and then ask me to take another video!! The proceeded to tell me when he got the second video he would help us!! What kinda of customer service is this!! And this is the owner of the company!! They don't stand by their product!! Avoid Utopia Gilling - Poor Installation and Terrible Customer Service. The product quality from Utopia Gilling seems decent at first glance, but working with Derek, the owner, has been an absolute nightmare. There were multiple issues: 1. Design Mistake - Derek mismeasured for a waterfall edge, which resulted in the countertop being installed halfway into the door frame. It looked awful. Even his own workers admitted the mistake, but he initially tried to say it was fine. After arguing, he agreed to fix it--but only if I paid a ridiculous amount. To avoid more conflict, I agreed to split the cost, even though the mistake was completely on him. 2. Backsplash Problem - Derek also cut the backsplash wrong, creating an odd arch that didn't match our original design. He asked me to "trust him" and said it would look good. I left it for a while, but it didn't grow on me. I asked him to trim it down to what we originally agreed upon. He took it to his warehouse, then sent me a $400 bill out of nowhere, claiming it was for gas and wear and tear on vehicle. No price was discussed beforehand, and $400 to cut two inches off is outrageous--I could have replaced the entire piece for that. 3. Cracked Countertop - On top of everything, the countertop is now cracked due to poor installation. When I brought this up, Derek refused to take responsibility or offer any remedy. It's clear he has no interest in standing behind his work. All in all, save yourself the stress and go elsewhere. Utopia Grilling - General Contractors Near Me - New Port Richey, Florida

Utopia Grilling has been a complete disaster. Dealing with the owner Derrick has been a profane experience. We went to Utopia's showroom. Kristy, was great. I looked the products over, commenting on the quality. Drawers being soft close. She said that is what they install. She also pointed out what a great grill cover there is. Derrick then took measurements giving us his sales talk. Has a facility in northern Florida, makes all the cabinets and drawers out of 304 steel. Sent us a diagram and proposal of $12,000. Later I called Derrick in the afternoon making an appointment at his shop at 10 next morning. The shop was closed. Caleb pulled up and I asked I where Derrick was. He was at the Strawberry Festival. Nice. He agreed to come to the house with samples. Derrick came and we had a conversation about the design. The grill was too close to the wall, it needed to be moved 6" to the left. He would do this and it would be an additional $600. I said great. We signed the contract at $13,000 with the changes we made. Never received new plans. Derrick came to install the frame. I told him it was wrong. He didn't make the changes. We agreed I would receive a $600 credit and move on. He also said he would extend the granite on the left side of the grill 4" more at no cost and make the back splash 5". Lo and behold Derrick, true to form, did not pass the information on. When they came to install the granite it was wrong. They had to take it back and recut it. The counter top. Of course a 5" back splash isn't going to fit in a 4" space, Derrick didn't measure. He just says stuff. When they installed the cabinet of drawers they created a code violation that wasn't there before. The ripped off the outdoor outlet cover so the cabinet would fit. Now the outlet has no cover and behind the cabinet there is no easy access to the outlet to use or for repair. I did use the electrical company they recommended. Thinking they would work together to make it all work. Utopia could have brought this to my attention so this problem would not exist. I received an invoice for a $1,300 balance. So I called Derrick about it. He agreed immediately that it was wrong and he would take care of it quickly. Then I asked Derrick about the griddle plate and I asked about the grill cover. This is when I learned that you have to leave two positive reviews with photos on two platforms to receive this. Surprise. I said I wasn't aware of this and he began to verbally attack with profanity calling me a M.fer, A-hole and so forth. I believe this is a sign of an unstable person. I called Kristy and she agreed that the drawers are supposed to be soft close and Caleb would take a look to remedy. He said that sometimes this happens. Well, in talking to Blaze, I found out they make all the products, they told me they changed their products in 2023 to soft close. That the contractor probably used a set from their warehouse that don't meet their specifications anymore. So it's not a warranty issue. I believe it to be a honesty issue. At that time I told Kristy that I was going to use the grill and there is no regulator hose. Bizarre. She said they don't make connections. Huh. I explained to her that I've never bought a grill that didn't include it . She did advise me then they could bring me one at a later date. Next I received a text from Derrick. That he will no longer honor the $600 credit for his mistakes. That he is canceling my warranties on all the products I bought and he is going to sue me for $1,300. This is not the first time he did this. I advised him make the cabinets right and I will pay the bill. Simple. In closing, over all the kitchen is nice. Shame to have to deal with Derrick. He is a bully to the senior citizens he believes he can lie to and make threats. Good luck if you should decide to use them. Hard to get that grill cover when they treat customers so poorly, don't follow up or follow through on anything, and then threaten and blame you. Really speaks volumes when a business has to buy reviews. And there aren't that many. read more

I have heard some really terrible things about Utopia Grilling. No business acumen, lack of follow up, terrible customer service, playing the blame game and giving customers the run around. Most recently, they have taken advantage of a quadriplegic Veteran by installing faulty equipment and then giving him the run around by asking him to take video after video of the problem when this man does not have full use of his hands. This paralyzed Veteran asked several times for them to come out and take a look, to which no one ever did and then proceeded to block him. I find this extremely disturbing on so many levels. To take advantage of a handicap person is probably the lowest thing a person can do. Shame on Utopia Grilling. Do not be fooled by them. Take your business and hard-earned money elsewhere! read more

I've been using my Utopia grill for a few months now, and I can't say enough good things about it. Not only does it look fantastic, but the staff's patience and excellent service made the experience even better. As someone who's quite particular, I appreciated their willingness to accommodate my preferences. As an Engineer what I really appreciated was Utopia grill custom designing the kitchen specifically for my space. Cooking on this high-end grill is a delightful departure from the standard Home Depot quality grills. While there's a learning curve, once I mastered it, the results are great. One pleasant surprise was the responsive customer support. When I called, I spoke to a real person who understood my questions and provided immediate assistance. Here is my story with Utopia Grilling, I have signed the contract for Utopia to build an outdoor kitchen, Bar and a wine bar for my husband and I. I sign the contract in June, and we ask Utopia to hold off until October 2022. That was fine. when I call Utopia to get my kitchen and bar installed, the bar was not built correctly so they had to take it back to fix. And here comes all the issues, I was missing the garbage, sink and flooring for the bottom flooring where we door for the gas bottles. Then I was told that he will send me a smaller sink, but he cannot give me back the difference. Which the price difference is about 75.00 - 100.00. The Ice maker door came on the wrong side, the fridge door came on the wrong side. I have called the office spoke to Stephanie, Christy, Arron, Robert and stated that they spoke about that, and someone will fix it. Next, I got a call stating that the stack stone we picked, they don't have enough to do the job, keep in mind I sign contract since June 2022. So, I said that was fine, I picked another stackstone, in which I ask if the countertop can be changed, I was told yes it will be $1500. more. I said that would be fine, since they know I was willing to pay more they triple the price, come to find out from Robert who I never spoke to before call and told me to go to the Grantie yard in Tampa, which that is 1.5 hours away, which we did. We picked another granite, which Raj said we are in the same $$ as our contract. Then I get a call From Dereck, if I want the granite that I picked it will be 4000.00 more, which he came down to 2800.00. Keep in mind I already spent over $80,000.00. So, money was not the issue. Utopia got paid in full by now. I had to call to get the Granite company to come out, no one from Utopia call me. Communiation is very bad with this company. Everyone I have spoken to have a different story to tell me. The Grantie company came out and I will refer Castle Grantie to anyone, they did an awesome Job. The stack stone guys came out that works for Utopia, made a mess in my flower bed, my tiles that is less that 2 months old made a mess of my floor and what does Dereck has to say, oh they don't work for me, but he sends them out to do this job. The size of fridge we ordered, they sent us a smaller one and the we have to go out and my the board to fix the opening to get the stack stone to lay correctly. They were more on their phone then doing work. My husband had to tell them; we need this job done. when done I called Derek and when he realizes it was me, he was speaking to, nothing good to say or never called or even come to see the job was completed. Arron was our sales guy, he is no better. He got his contract sign and never to see him again. Knowing the amount of money I spent, I was told I would only get a grill cover if I did a wonderful review. I don't ask anyone for anything for free and I am not about to lie on a review just to get a free cover. I could buy the cover for all the outdoor appliances I have bought. LACK OF COMMUNICATION.... If I keep writing all the horrible experience, I can write a book about this company. Never again to work with Utopia. Glad this project is over with them and now I have to do all the cleanup they have made a mess of. When telling Derek about the mess, no one called to say anything. or even to offer to pay for the cleanup. Justin took picture of the mess and I have sent picture to Derek with all the issue. I HAVE SO MUCH MORE TO SHARE BUT, NOT ENOUGH TIME TO WRITE ALL. MY EXPERIENCE WAS A NIGHTMARE AND HEADACHES. Also, I was told this is one of the largest kitchen Utopia Grilling has completed. COMSUMER BEWARE!! STAY AWAY!! We requested our kitchen to be delivered in July of 2021 since we were having a new swimming pool installed. Its now September and it is not complete.  Our fridge was on back order and just arrived two weeks ago. When we paid for our kitchen we would have assumed that everything would be ordered for our kitchen. We paid for the kitchen January of 2021 and paid the deposit  of $6,000. When it arrived in July we paid an additional $3,000. So a total of $9,000 to date!! Derek explained to us that we could have recieve some grill accessories for free if me and my wife both gave him a good review since he had a few bad reviews at that point. So when July came and we were ready for install WE THOUGHT we would not have to wait for back ordered items or anything missing due to the amount of money we we paid out. Our kitchen was installed and due to lack of knowledge of the install guys they placed the kitchen against the screen so that the travertine we were having placed was not able to be placed on back of kitchen and we had to pay out of pocket for waterproof paint. It also was delivered with the wrong fridge, the wrong grill, and a sink ( which we didn't didn't order) The grill we got was $400 cheaper than the one we ordered.  Than it caught of fire during the first use!! (Which I'll explain below) The granite team arrived to place our granite and they were not able to lift it and I had to go outside myself as the homeowner to lift the granite so nothing broke!! FAST FORWARD TO THE FIRST AND ONLY DAY WE USED OUR GRILL!! (July 17th 2021) Our brand new pool/screen enclosure was at risk during a fire!! Upon contacting Derek about this issue he than started to blame the granite team for installing wooden shims which could not withstand the heat and said they were responsible for the damages. He than arrived to my home and found that it was not the granite company fault it was his due to faulty wiring. The fire was started by faulty wiring inside the kitchen which I have on our home security system cameras of the fire and the owner Derek taking full responsibility of the faulty wiring. It got so hot that the grill burnt the shims that were under the granite and the grill dropped and cracked the granite. He than informed me he was going to contact the granite company and explain that he was 100 percent responsible for this and it was not their fault. Derek at that point had the grill placed on my brand new pavers and left it there. Upon messaging him to have someone pick it up and dispose of it he told me that I as the homeowner could move it myself but to not drag it because he didn't want my pavers damaged! We had to have the granite replaced. The granite company (owner of company Jake) finally came out to replace it at 930pm in our HOA community to cut with loud machinery the granite. Jake expressed how he has had nothing but problems since joining forces with Utopia. I than said well at least it wasn't your fault and owner looked surprised. He asked me what I meant that's when I realized how grimey and deceitful Derek was. He did not contact them and express the fact that it was his companies fault. He left them to believe they were still responsible for the damages. The owner of granite company was so upset he grabbed his phone instantly and called him. Jake cursed at Derek and asked him why he wouldn't tell him and make him pay for $2,000 replacement and Dereks response was that he provides them with at least $35,000 monthly so Jake should watch how he spoke to him.  [In which we heard and seen the messages] Derek at that point made the statement that if he "slanders" Taken for Granite and Jake he is also "slandering " himself and Utopia so it didn't matter who he "blamed" & than hung up on the owner of the Granite company. I also explained to him about our experience this far with the kitchen company and our knowledge of Utopia Outdoor Kitchens owner Derek Josephs.  (WHICH I PRAY TO GOD ISNT ALL TRUE) but I guess when you previous owned and operated a company that was sued for being deceitful that's what you can expect from the future companies. HOWEVER.... I suppose the word got back to Derek and he sent me and my wife a message that he wanted to speak to us directly.  After being very nasty and upset about the things we talked to the granite company about he than started to become very spiteful and vindictive.   (Just showing arrogance and cockiness *no longer a priority to him* because we talked to his contractor and caused him a "world of trouble" in his words) We have since decided to just let it go because we believe in Karma both good and bad. As of right now our kitchen still isn't completed. I HAVE PHOTOS, TEXT MESSAGES, PAPERWORK AND HOME SECURITY CAMERA FOOTAGE. TO PROVE THIS IS 100% ACCURATE AND NOT SLANDER.
