Be-bop-a ...Lula…read more.. A nice little flower shop with modern and unusual arrangements opposite the Royal Hospital. I love surprising friends with fresh flowers that don't look like thay have come from the local garage. Lula delivers and the prices are reasonable. It's just below street level but you can't miss the large pink sign. They don't have a website so I'll post some photos to show their creativity. And in the words of Gene Vincent "Walk around the store, get more, more more ..for your baby love .... ..."

The fact that it is located upon Prescott Street opposite the Royal Liverpool Hospital means that it is the ideal location to grab a pick me up for a person in need. If theres one thing that flowers do well it is to cheer up those who are down and having purchased a varied arrangement for my girlfriend from Lula recently I felt uplifted by the whole consumer experience. On my trip to Lula I purchased a varied and colourful arrangement of lilys and carnations with various other types of flowers thrown in there. This was all done on the reccomendation of the extremely helpful staff who simply asked who the flowers were for and the kind of arrangement I would like and took it from there. This kind of service is sadly missing from many modern day businesses and it was an extremely satisfying feeling to have experienced such excellent customer service and attention to detail. The arrangement cost around £7.00 which was a reasonable amount for an above par level of service. Lula is a much fresher and personal alternative to purchasing flowers which are sold at the Spa store a few doors up. If you are a Liverpool local with a need to cheer up a special someone visit Lula and I promise you will not feel dissapointed. On the whole excellent, business, excellent service and an all round feel good experience.

What a delightful establishment this is! I might even go as far as to say delectable!…read more Nook & Cranny stocks a veritable cornucopia of gorgeous gifts, stationery and homewares, all utterly charming. The first thing that caught my eye (and drew me in from my journey up Bold Street) were the beautiful Cable & Cotton fairy lights displayed in the window - these stunning textured, multi coloured, orb fairy lights are just magical and certainly set the scene for the rest of the shop. There is so much to gaze or chuckle at and drool over in Nook & Cranny that I just wouldn't know where to start telling you all about it but other highlights include the bear paw oven mitts, the 'My Cuppa Tea' colour matching guide mug and the Knit Your Own Zoo kit. I was in seventh heaven. Imagine my delight when I discovered that the back of the shop (which used to be storage space) has now been turned into a cosy little cafe called Quills & Coffee. Sadly I couldn't stay to sample any of the beautiful looking cakes but I vowed there and then to visit again as soon as possible. Yet more delight...Nook & Cranny and Quills & Coffee put on occasional film screenings at the back of the store!! The next one is American Beauty on Saturday 28th March at 7pm - tickets are £10 and include free drinks and pizza and available from www.nookandcrannyshop.co.uk. Magic

Very very cool cards and gifts throughout, I was especially impressed with the awesome range of band music posters in the back - everything from Queens of the stone age to classic hiphop ones - really worth a look if you're nearby and fancy some colourful artwork to brighten up your walls. Very friendly staff, they hopefully will do well in this prime location in Liverpool.

It's such a gorgeous area, full of great views and clean streets. People coming here are sure to snap away photos during the day, one might as well make something out of it and bring a little piece of Liverpool home with them. Besides, what touristy experience isn't complete with some souvenirs? The shop seems nice and is full of moderately priced items that range from glasses to wall decor to cheesy t-shirts. I managed to find a mini collection of fun coasters and some interesting hats to bring back to the states. Service was splendid. The staff here was nice enough to help us search out various items based on the preferences of our group. The only problem was that none of the stuff really appealed to me, but then again I'm not much of a souvenir shopper.

In fairness this place is not meant for the likes of me, a scouser who has had The Beatles rammed down his throat since birth but for those visiting the city there is plenty of memorabilia and souvenirs to remind you of the trip in scouseland. There are plenty of novelty t shirts, LFC gear - even babygrows and bibs for those eager to ensure their offspring grow up admiring the wrong side of Stanley Park! - and all the usual gubbins such as key rings and fridge magnets. There are also some fairly interesting books about the city and some of its famous sons - not just The Beatles but the clubs of that era, the history of the city as a port, etc - and even a 'How to speak Scouse' handbook. It was very up to date too with words like jarg, bizzie and...shirtlifter? Oh well done, nothing like the scouse 'wit' to really sell the city.

In one sense this place is very typical and nothing out of the ordinary at all except for the fact that the deals here are fantastic. The shop often has up to 75% of brand name fragrances and that is value which is not to be sniffed at. The staff here are great also and really allow you to take your time when you are deciding on your purchase and there is much to choose from so time is needed. The shop is a very pleasant place to be in and is great for a gift or perhaps a little treat for yourself. On the whole this place makes for a very good shopping experience and it is certainly a place which I plan to return to time and again.

Not just for attracting the opposite sex but for affirmation of your own self worth. Without this self confidence you really have started on a slide down to oblivion. It also is an absolute turn on the moment you step into this place. Must be the scents and pheromones being fired at you. You know what, a great fragrant smell is a powerful tool of seduction. Main reason being it goes under the radar most of the time. You see we are visual creatures most of us, the visual distracts us from a certain objects other attributes, mainly fragrant ones. Attraction to the other sex thus is only partially about looks. Fragrance shop thus could be a very important stop for ya'all when you go choosing your weapon of choice. Me? I am a pick and mix type of guy, I love to experiment. I love too many different fragrances, a tinkle of this, a tinkle of that and I create my own fragrance cocktails to bemuse the audience. It has stood me on good ground so far, if it ain't broke don't fix it. Come look around here and find your own A-game!! Chamon!!
